Love the mood, great art, great music. Really fun!

jordan-costello 2024-04-16 01:59

Haven't seen this through to the end yet, but it's charming. Nice illustrations, music doesn't get old, and the writing put a smile on my face.

pusheeneiro 2024-04-16 02:45

I love detective-style games

drgcandle 2024-04-16 05:41

Oh my gosh, how did you guys whip up such an astounding piece in such little time? I'm head over heels for your art style – it must've been a herculean effort, right? And the game's difficulty is just perfect, exuding a vibe of total maturity. I'm so hyped, I can't wait to throw my cash at it! Shut up and take my money!!

vyolfers 2024-04-16 06:40

Such a charming art style! I haven't completed the game yet but I'm so eager to found who did the booglo! I'm not sure if I'm reading into it too much, or I'm just tired xD but it's quite difficult to find who's lyin' or not.

Also, Herbert, no offense but I'm team potato!

busisen 2024-04-16 12:45

I'm seriously impressed by the amount of polish that's gone into this project. The characters have character (wow), the dialogue is fun and I like the unique theme interpretation. The only thing I had trouble with was that it felt a bit overwhelming at first, being presented with everything and not knowing where to start. But that's also part of the entire game concept, so rather a personal thing than anything else. Regardless, great submission :)

kpids 2024-04-16 18:01

Wow, there is a lot of content for just a 3 day game and it's so polished.

zippry 2024-04-16 19:42

@drgcandle Thank you so much! I had a lot of fun designing the characters. Originally we thought it might be like...7 characters. Then that doubled haha.

@vyolfers We were a bit worried that figuring everything out would be too hard. We might try to incorporate a hint system or some way to let you know when things are right. Thanks for checking it out!

@busisen Its a lot having everything on one screen! We wanted everything to be available at all times and focuses more on the story, art and puzzle. But ideally it might be nice to have a few screens to look at or some direction on what to look at first. Thank you for playing!

pigeonic 2024-04-16 19:50

The illustrations are really beautiful, it is an immersive experience. Well done!

pimeko 2024-04-16 19:51

The visuals are really cool, with a Don't Starve atmosphere! The music is great and fits perfectly to the mood :) The gameplay is innovative and definitely the only one I'll see with such a concept. Good job!

chiara-sanviti 2024-04-16 20:24

My mood, hahahhaha Screenshot 2024-04-16 222412.png

kirass 2024-04-16 21:42

Interesting game! I like it!

kseniya 2024-04-16 21:43

an interesting visual

skyler-newsome 2024-04-16 21:52

Very impressive work! This is incredibly deep for 3 days. And funny too! Well done!

vkonstantin 2024-04-16 22:08

Didn't expect to see a detective game in this theme. Well written characters, good art and music. Noticed some typos here and there, nothing critical. The interactive objects could be made to stand out a little bit more. When I first launched the game I thought that pixie was the only interactable object, because it has animation and everything else is static and looks like a background. Overall a great project.

melissa-stodolnik 2024-04-17 00:01

this game is very nice, i like it

captainspacecat 2024-04-17 00:28

I liked being able to ask the characters to gossip on each other! That fully-connected graph must have been quite a doozy to write in 3 days!

tristan-doell 2024-04-17 00:49

Will have to come back to this later was doing it on my phone and had all the clues but was having a problem poking buttons on my phone. (Also going to get some paper so can take notes.) Thanks for the game will come back to finish it when I'm at my desk later. Was fun.

tristan-doell 2024-04-17 02:39

Ha came back and with the power of paper and my crazy conspiracy drawing abilities I worked it all out! Thanks for making a great game!

zippry 2024-04-17 02:57

@tristan-doell Aw thank you!! Glad to hear you were able to work everything out. It's hard to know how exactly how something like this will work out for players. Hopefully it was a satisfying conclusion.

@vkonstantin Thanks for the feedback! I see your point, maybe a highlight when mousing over the clickable objects would be a nice addition in the future.

@chiara-sanviti I think this is how everyone looked after the jam. haha

@pimeko I'm a big fan of Don't Starve so it has influence my art for sure. I really wanted that "hand drawn" rough around the edges look. Thanks for playing!

caveman54 2024-04-17 04:17

This is a fantastic game. Writing, graphics, and everything work well together. Super simple idea and fits the theme well.

kama 2024-04-17 07:59

i like your, characters are very cool!

letssnack 2024-04-17 08:53

Great polishing and I really like the sounds and art! Well done, great game

onqdll 2024-04-17 23:22

Unexpected gem! Absolutely love "Return of the Obra Dinn" and "Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective" (the board game). This one feels kinda like a beautiful child between them. Great job!

saintchristopher777 2024-04-17 23:40

Wow, this is super cool. I love everything about it! Great work!!

night-on-mars 2024-04-18 19:22

Man, loving this idea! Super nice gameplay but some variation would be helpful.. like Exit8 a sudden change surprise would add to the gameplay. Also small note that the bottom part of the option blends in to the background so it's easy to miss.

anifan-gelati 2024-04-18 23:48

Super cool visual. I'm really a bit silly and couldn't get through, but still awesome!)

momotiktik 2024-04-19 21:19

It's a very clever detective game! I certainly didn't expect to see one for such a theme, but here it is and it's great! A had a blast reading through testimonies and I must say I enjoyed both the mystery solving aspect and the writing itself :D such an array of personalities! It's a really cool game and I enjoyed spending time on it, so sincerely - one of the best entries here! <3

mongoose-59 2024-04-20 03:54

this was a lot of fun, very strong art and writing on a solid mystery

however... this might sound like a skill issue, see, i actually figured it out (i swear to god) but the solution dindt work, so i just gave in and asked the fairy, an it was confirmed that my suspects where rigth (I SWEAR TO GOD), so i just imputed exactly what she said, and its still wrong, please tell me its a bug and im not that dumb

sariiger 2024-04-20 07:32

An amazing and well written game! I'm really surprised you managed to put this much polish into this game in only 3 days. Very impressive you also managed to write together such a neat plot as well, and make the graphics and audio also this good.

Great work!

konstantinreed 2024-04-20 11:45

Detective game with excellent artwork and sound design. Impressed by the good story written in such a short time. Absolutely love it, good job!

figaro 2024-04-20 21:43

First, a very sincere thanks to all of you for playing our game. It truly means a lot.

@sariiger @momotiktik @konstantinreed @saintchristopher777 @caveman54 @kama So happy to hear you enjoyed it. We approached this game jam with the idea that we could produce a lot of 2d artwork and writing faster than anything else so we would find a way to get depth and intricate gameplay from those two things above all. I think I wrote for 14 straight hours on sunday and my mind is still a little fried from weaving the story lines together. @zippry went crazy on all the character and items art, @tyler-law made it all come together with the programing, @jetty brought in a ton of sound effects and additional programming. We had a really great time working on it.

@onqdll As 'Return of the Obra Dinn' is easily one of my favorite games this is a huge compliment. It was absolutely a big inspiration and reference point for the concept of the game. The other big inspiration is 'The Case of the Golden Idol' which if you haven't played but like Obra Dinn I highly recommend! I've never played the sherlock Holmes game you mentioned I'll have to look into it.

@night-on-mars Definitely know what you mean, you're in the exact game state from start to finish, which I found cozy in a way but certainly gets stale. We've thought about how we would expand something like this with more scenes and maps etc.

@mongoose-59 @anifan-gelati There is a little hang up we've heard people running into that I wonder might have happened to you. !!!SPOILER!!! you have to mark the princess as a conspirator as well as the summoner. We may update it to clarify that better as well as who the 'Unwitting Accomplices' are.

borabee 2024-04-21 17:23

Great game! It's impressive the ammount of content you managed to create for this jam. I love the story and characters you created and also how the information is so well sprinkled throughout the dialogue options and items, keeping me engaged till the end and for quite a few hours hehe. Art and music here set the mood perfectly. The only confusing thing was having to mark the summoner as a conspirator also in the suspect sheet -- I almost couldn't finish the game if it wasn't for a commenter on itch explaining this. The ending explanation also would be fire as a cutscene instead of just text (although the narration is great!), if you ever wanna polish this further after the jam!
