This is a really fun game except for some minor bugs. I think you can slide through the levels pretty easily if you press W and D at the same time when you're resting at the idol. But it's a really interesting concept with the sonar and I got really nostalgic with the game Badland.
Really love the mood setting in the game! The black and white CCTV style really makes the game feel more creepy! Well done with the audio as well! Hope y'all are better soon and deliver a polished and more complete version of the game!
This is a really fun game to play with. The gameplay is very simple but effective and the controls are easy to use, well done! The game does get a bit too hard approaching the end when dozens of the enemies (I think they are zombies?) swarm towards you.
Wow, that's a very interesting game! It would even better if there's more impact when the bullets hit the enemies, maybe add some particle effects and I believe your game would be up another notch!
It's a really fun little game to play with! I really like the retro art style and how the wizard transitions from one area to another by rotating the space. The game is quite punishing though because I would respawn back at the beginning of the game having to go through all the areas I've been to already. But all in all, great job!
This is such a fun game to play with! I genuinely stressed out when hordes of zombies and armored knights circle you and there's no way to run. Great job on creating such an enjoyable entry!
As a minimalist, I can't express how much I love the artstyle of the game. It feels just right, with just the right amount of information it presents to you without overusing sprites and particle effects. Great job!
It's been a lot of hard work but here we are!
P.S.: Literally spent 24 hours without having eaten anything, pure grinding...
@rmheuer It's just a design choice for the lab, it doesn't really mean anything in particular.
Feel free to share how long you've made it in the game!
Huge shout out to @devon-chan for his amazing art!
@jaspior Thanks for the great suggestion! We'll make a patch and upload the newer version ASAP for our players!
@jarn0r Thank you so much for your support!
I can’t believe that we’re over 50 ratings already! It really isn’t something our team expected for our second ever game jam. We would like to thank all of you who has supported our game and gave us crucial feedback for improving it in the future! We couldn’t have done it without you!
@100th-coin That's wonderful! Congrats on making it into the 100 seconds league! Thank you so much for your suggestions!
This game is pretty fun to play with and requires the players to strategize how to arrange the satellites to prevent collision.
Love the artstyle, but the dashing mechanics feel a bit overpowered
I think there's an error with the upload, there's a 404 not found. You should have index.html at the root of your .zip file.
We're actively trying to fix the bug that the game is not loading on LDJam at the moment. The game is available on itch.io as well so in the meanwhile feel free to play the WIP version on itch!
The game can finally be played on LDJam's website now! Unfortunately, some of the VFX are still not present on the web version due to WebGL not being able to support Visual Effects Graph, so if you would like to experience the full game please feel free to download the Windows version in the links attached!
@kanity I'm so sorry that this happened. Would you mind telling me which version of the game you downloaded? From what I can tell the version you have right now is deprecated and have some minor bugs, including the one that you just mentioned. I know you've probably left your ratings and left already, but I think the experience will be much better if you have the chance to play the latest bug-free version, which is called [Back_to_Life_Windows.zip]. Hope you had a great jam!
@just-a-cat We will be looking at why that's the case right now.
@just-a-cat I think the bug should be fixed now! We’ve just tried playing the new build on a Mac and this doesn’t seem to be an issue anymore. Hope you have a fun jam!
@kanity I see, thanks for the clarification! If the new objects are not showing up then it’s most likely because you haven’t figured out the correct combinations yet. Would you mind sharing a screenshot of your game progress?
@kanity The ones in green are the ones that are confirmed to be correct, so congrats on finding them! However, the next few aren't matched correctly so that's the reason why the game hasn't progressed. To help you out, maybe consider the names of the objects and the spatial relations between them. Some of them are also coherent conversations so maybe you can try to first match the lines that are relevant to each other. Hope that'll help!
@velvetlobster Thanks for the compliment! This game is really a matter of reading between the lines and figuring out the relationships between the objects, as well as their name (both in real life and in the game). You should be able to progress through the game once you get three correct matches. Please don't hesitate to ask any questions or give any further feedback!
@just-a-cat We did notice that the game had an issue of soft lock when progressing through particular objects. So we went immediately to fix the progression. Everything should be working perfectly now!
@just-a-cat Thank you too for pointing out any bugs/issues in the game! It has really helped us a lot and to give everyone a better gameplay experience!
@cshep99 Thanks for the comment! The one next to the door is not a window unfortunately, it’s actually a whiteboard. Sorry for the confusion!
Came here to drop my review! The game is pretty fun and I really liked the teleporting mechanic! It's a really useful and perhaps even a bit too OP skill at such a low mana cost, making it very easy for the players to exploit and spam. I played through the game several times and the game can be finished within a minute without platforming, summoning, or attacking. That is not to say that the game is not fun, but it might need a bit of balancing on some values. I really liked the lore and overall environment design, it feels very immersive as a sorcerer/wizard in an ancient castle (gives me Hogwarts vibes). Great job!
Love the art! It looks really cute! The game feels complete and is very fun to play with.
It's a fun little time-killer, and I had some really fun time moving around and running away from the enemies. But I do agree with the post above that the player should have some more abilities, like dashing or attacking to make the game more balanced. It was also quite hard to find skeletons to summon at first so maybe a bit of balancing would be nice. All in all, great job!
This is a really cool concept and a great twist from the tile-matching genre! The tile-placing mechanic feels really laggy but it's really fun to play with. Great job!
I LOVE THE GAME! The puzzles are really well designed and manage to teach the player different mechanics bit by bit but also keep the game challenging enough. I would really hope to see it as a full-fledged game with much more levels and more mechanics! Well done!
I wasn't expecting a game of this quality to come out of a 48-hour comp. It is truly amazing what you managed to pull off with the deck-builder and the assets in such a short time and at such a high quality. Hats off to you!
That's a really good concept! I think there's a bug in Level 5 though, two of the "people" doesn't seem to be able to move
The game is really fun to play with! I really like how the game slowly introduces you to new mechanics and integrates them to make interesting puzzles. The sound effects also help make the game so much fun to just click around. Great job!
Hi @korteh, using Caps-Lock for controls is a last-minute change we made to the game (personally, I hate the idea as well). We've been using Ctrl for the entire dev process but only realized that the game window would be terminated on the web version when players press Ctrl+W simultaneously. So in order to not have the players freak out when the game suddenly gets closed whenever they try to crouch, we moved the crouch key to Caps-Lock. Thanks for the feedback and we'll try to find a way to make the instructions clearer and test for a better input mapping!
@andriana-mantidfly Would you mind sharing a bit more on what you have a hard time understanding? It would really help us make our game more player-friendly!
@hare-software This got me laughing on the floor! Do you mind if I steal it?
@plasmak Thanks for the feedback! We'll try to keep that in mind when we make the next update.
@inesrp We'll keep that in mind. We do have a whoosh sfx when stealing, but I agree with you that it might not be an enough indicator of a successful steal. Thanks for the feedback!
@fireslash Thanks for the feedback! E should only work when you are trying to steal from enemies who haven't detected you (which I think we should do a better job at explaining when introducing the concept), it is also possible that you were playing on a version where the E button had a few minor bugs, but it should be patched now. Our instructions should definitely get updated considering too many of the mechanics are left unexplained. Thanks again for the feedback!
@velvetlobster We're so happy that you enjoyed the game! The opening cutscene is done by one of our wonderful artist, @devon-chan, he also helped develop the game lore and the player character. Thank you for playing our game!
I can feel there's a game in here, but it might just need a bit of polishing. Keep up the good work!
The art looks great! However, I am having trouble understanding what is going on here and where to go. Any sort of instructions to teach the player would be very helpful. Anyway, great job!
