I really loved your game, I could play it all day! Really beautiful art, I vibed with the music and there was a lot of player expression with the bodies! Really great game overall!
Really liked this game. Greatest complaint I have is I wanted to play more but my failed attempts (bodies) became too great for me to pass through an opening! Ending my run!
this was so smooth and really great gameplay, the stuff to get to was just far enough to make it possible, and have a few fun retries to get there. amazing job!
agreed with the bodies in the way complaint, but I'm sure that could be added, some "X" button to remove them, if they were blocking something, etc
Very fun platformer. Good job on writing the character controller for this one, it feels. I did get stuck once when my dead body blocked a small corridor but other than that I didn't have any issues. Well done!
I am free! The game is nearly perfect, the controls feel really good, the different abilities are well thought, and the level design is great.
To make it even better you could make respawn faster, and to my taste make the viewport a little bit bigger to see more of the map ;)
Fun platform! Love the music and way the theme was implemented. Wish it told me how many deaths it took me to get to the end! Good job :)
Honestly one of the smoothest, clearest and most polished games I've played this Jam! Mad props to the team, you've found a clear concept and executed it with upgrades and fantastic level-design. The whole atmosphere is really chill and would love to see this expanded *:)*
This is a fun game! Everything works really well and is pretty simple to grasp. I would have maybe liked to see the dead bodies you leave behind worked into some of the puzzles somehow other than just leaving them on switches, but obviously there's only so much you can do in a ludum dare!
Great game, I liked how the cheerful music and sound effects counteracted the gloomy (but cute) graphics.
Nice game and fits the theme well, thx 5 game, I was a little bit too smol brain for this but... i guess XD
Really good. All the levels are done in the same map which is really cool. Music is great. Just really good
Love this little platformer! Really nice art and sound direction, creating sounds for a little creature that doesn’t exist can be more difficult than you think, but his little squeaks are not only cute, but matching of the character design.
A few quality of life comments; the time between death and respawn is a bit too long, and a button to purposely kill yourself would have been nice instead of waiting for the time to finish.
But overall, it’s a simple concept done really well! Nice one!
This was executed quite well. Unfortunately I had to start over because I died a few times in a spot which made it impossible to continue the game (died a few times on the edge of the jumping platform for the large spikes on the right). I wish it was possible to push my corpses around so that I can get them out of the way and continue the game.
Hey @sean-esopenko , thanks for giving it a shot! If you ever feel like giving it another try: you can press either "S" or the "Down" arrow key when next to a previous corpse to remove it!
Everything is so good about this! Great concept, level design, abilities, audio, graphics, and (most importantly!) all the juice!
@settings: Ooooooh! If you made that an ability that was acquired it'd be completely obvious, because the little tutorial text would pop up. Thanks for the response, I really like your game. I'm still thinking about it and comparing other games to it when playing other games in the jam.
Great game! Love the look and theme and plays nicely. There are some times where I stick to a wall when trying to drop in a hole but I guess I need to jump in.
I suck playing such games and usually skipping them, but this one was really fun to play+mechanics with turning into stone is great! Sometimes it helps you, sometimes not :p Really cool music and sounds!
It's awesome! I especially love the soundtrack!! :D Great art style, level design, mood and game mechanics. Very nice use of the theme.
reminds me the 2d metroid!great game!(check out our game plz!)
Great game, got to the end, hand cramped up and I had to stop haha. Controller support would be my jam for sure but obviously that would make it too easy tee hee. Sound is nice and upbeat without being annoying, graphics are nice and crisp, really cute little blob dude. Nice work!
Really really well made game. Art, music and sound effects are all so pretty. Controls feel really good! Excellent amount of polish. My only gripe was that towards the end it was quite frustrating to remember where the closed doors are. I kept trying for the exit thinking all other doors were opened but I had to go back and search for other doors all over again. That part could be improved a bit. I especially liked the idea of dying in the right place to make use of the body. That was a great mechanic that also adds an emotional level to it. Overall excellent submission. Very good work and impressive achievement for a jam!
Lot of fun! I especially liked how the controls are pleasant to use and the design that requires returning to previous places (and my memory!). Congrats
Really cool game! I think you did an amazing job with the concept and a strong level design to support it. Plus, very satisfying flowy movement, a great soundtrack and artstyle to boot. I was hooked through every loss being really close to a button or door, and didn't lose interest for a second all the way to the end. Amazing work right here!!
NICE! Love the visuals and animation, smooth controls, very well polished!
Very good game!
I know it's quite hard to do a platformer that feels good in a jam, and this one does! Really nice job on tying together quick platforming, metroidvania and "past you can push buttons" together.
Visuals and audio are very nice.
Only thing that felt a bit weird to me was the camera: since your level goes up and down, you decided to center the camera vertically, but with such a high jump and vertical gameplay, it felt a bit cramped at times.
Very very good game overall, great job ✨
Very good level design, I really enjoyed it! I found the wall-jump kind of degraded the platforming experience, with the way you always stuck to walls, but overall it was very good. Chaining jumps and dashes together particularly felt good. You made the paths just the right length to be difficult but not extremely frustrating, great job!
Nice art and mechanics. Great work!
Challenging, clever and fun!
10/10 Charming and fab game feelCapture.PNG
Wow, a 10-second tiny metroidvania was definitely unexpected. Frankly a "die prematurely" button would be appreciated for later stages of the game. Timer actually pausing to let you read the button prompt was a very good touch. I've managed to press some buttons without double-jump powerup just by stacking the bodies, and I'm curious how many power ups you actually NEED to finish the game. I guess only double-jump and dash to cross the gaps, since everything else can be done by stacking the bodies.
A very well polished experience, one that does not overstay its welcome (larger map would likely be quite annoying to navigate with a 10 second limiter).
Correction: Low% requires only dash, because exit is too far and spikes near dash upgrade are way too hard to clear without dash. Simple tactic - bury everything with bodies, including spikes. While you leave no body on contact, if you die above the spikes - body remains perfectly intact and 2 of them is enough to cover the vertical reach of the spikes. The big pit before exit was a mass grave. Really fun game.
@Yanrishatum That's awesome. We absolutely didn't push the boundaries of our game, and I personally had no clue something like this would be possible. Thank you so much for spending the time, this might sound generic, but it really means a lot. Are you a speedrunner?
@settings Nah, not a speedrunner at all (don't find "going fast" as an interesting thing to do). I just like to finish games with 100% and in some cases figure out low%, as games often aren't really designed around players actively avoiding upgrades. I'm really happy that my initial idea of needing double-jump and dash was wrong as I discovered ability to just drown spikes with bodies, lol. It does require some timing, since you want to bee mid-jump when timer runs out and not hit the spikes while being alive. Wall-climb/jump were obviously skippable by stacking enough bodies, but if not for ability to drop bodies onto spikes and retain them double-jump would be mandatory for a big gap.
Full polished game that fits the theme! Good level design. Smooth controls, beautiful art and music. Good luck on the submission and keep it up
