Pretty art and pretty game overall ^^ Like the gameplay and it's quite addicting trying to find all the combinations
My notes while playing: - Classic medival music. Feels like we're in a casle or an old market. - Smart choice in the tutorial to "fail" to summon, because the position has not been selected. - Having a pause option is really useful for writing these notes :D - The first summon looks a bit odd. Took me a second to figure out it was a zombie missing a leg. - The fact that you have to be smart with your resources and cant just spam them gives the game another dimension in terms of difficulty. - Scrolling through the book: "Ok. I need to summon the dragon asap!" - The dragon has some wierd gray stripes that kind of look like they are not supposed to be there
Im leaving my notes because this game simply has a *lot* going on. Like the summoning concept, different pricing and the variation in ability with the ranged summons you put in. Among the classics like zombie, blob and dragon, you also created some pretty cool creatures like the moth, which I found pretty neat!
The tutorial is very well made. Playing it immediately explained the whole game. Afterwards, I felt like I knew exactly what I was doing.
Sometimes I didn't quite know what order on the board my runes would be placed, so I had to take them back to choose another one to get the order for my summoning right. Marking the "next spot" with a little arrow or glow would be helpful.
Nice game! :)
Ooh, and we also have an evil sorcerer (actually a legendary Slavic folklore character fighting off peasants) :) I really liked the depth of elaboration of the game. It's very cool! (There's even a tutorial 🤩). The game feels well polished
@smogen thank you very much for this detailed review! I'm super happy to see that you liked the game.
About the design of some "monsters/minions", I can only with you, mistakes were made lmao. At some point I was really tired and I rushed this part. I also love the moth design!
About gameplay and QOL, if I had more time there's a tone of things I could have try to do, as it is for most of the jam's games I guess ahah.
Thank you again !
This is a very charming game! The tutorial was a little text heavy, but it definitely helped understand what was going on. I think you could totally make this into a bigger release if you wanted  Keep on making games!
Had a lot of fun with this one!
Enjoyed the loop of gaining stones to craft better summons and playing with the different recipes! Only draw back for me was the placing of so many stones to fill your party every round got a little tedious.
Great work!
It's the type of game that I use to like. Managing runes, shopping them and planning what could come in the next day is the kind of system that I enjoyed more.
Having more buttons, like in 'next day', 'buy' and some indications where to click to summon creatures, it would make the game more intuitive.
The tutorial is kind of confusing and agree that is heavy on text, but the game itself is really easy to play and joyful.
Great Work!
Nice time playing your game.
I found it easy to use right from the start, the tutorial is clear and simple to understand how to do the invocations.
The graphics and sound ambiance go well together, maybe use a different music in combat as the other is perfect for the store.
No sound bugs, it seems... it's a cool game!
Really great game! I appreciated having such a detailed tutorial, I might've been lost pretty quick without it (your UI elements are pretty small and sometimes not highlighted enough). Otherwise everything's super cool, you achieved an impressive level of polish for a 3 days game jam, congrats o/
Really cool entry. As others have said, thankful for the tutorial. Surprisingly addictive gameplay, managed to make it up to level 30, an impressive amount of content for a jam game. I do feel like the difficulty could've ramped up a bit quicker, or there be another money sink outside of the runes as i ended up with a massive amount of gold/runes fairly quickly (but this is a Jam after all). Overall, really great entry. Well done!
Gameplay is nice but also thank you for the tutorial :ok_hand:
This is a very complex game for such a short timeframe. Good job!
What would I change?
-Get the music in-game ASAP. Good choice of track, by the way; it fits the theme super well.(If you end up wanting original music, shoot me a note!)
-Get sound effects in/fix SFX bug. (Some other users have noted they didn't have any sound effects. Even a basic "strike" sound with a modulator will do.)
-A visual delineator between front and backline runes. I know, I know, it seems silly, but it's easy to forget with all the other (excellent) stuff going on. Even just a dot or something in the corner of the backline will help an idiot like me remember that important fact. :D
Great job on:
-Summon and enemy variety
-Strategy design
-Visuals
Great work!
It got easy quite fast but that's just balancing, other than that this is a neat game, I like the strategy part and the tutorial is a bit text heavy but as other's said, the fail part is effective in assuring you do it correctly while playng.
Well done!
This was really fun to play! A bit more difficulty would make it even better. I liked the summons and it really felt like I was becoming powerful- although getting better slowly would make it more rewarding. Good music and I liked the narrative twist of combating villagers, and not other, possibly unmotivated generic enemy monsters. Good job!
I had a lot of fun. The summoning system is nice. It is quickly repetitive and quickly too easy as well. But I enjoyed it a lot. Well done
