Awesome game! I had raelly fun playing it! Even made it on the scoreboard I think

Best Girl by BloodJohn 2017-12-05T00:59:05Z

This reminds me of the alien from 'mars attacks' that dressed up as a human woman xD The music is a little repetitive but its accually challenging to guess wich one is unique. The 'oh yeah' has a wierd feel to it, I didnt like that a lot. I do like the quality of the artstyle thoug.

Prinsen Gulden by King Kujito 2017-12-14T18:08:19Z

Fun game! Love the switch of the surroundings but the controls must be polished a little more. I also really liked that taking hearts adds armor and the general 2d on 3d style Good job :)

what-doesn't kill you gets stronger by kerneltt 2017-12-04T17:46:05Z

It's a fun idea for a little game. Love the simplicity! :) Seems very easy at first but difficulty increases in a nice ratio. I like the fact that it's a 3D game but you controll your spear with the mouse, basically moving in 2D in every way. It still looks a little dull, so maybe add some stuff to the environment to make it pretty, but the music is absolutly awesome and fits the visual theme perfectly. Two (maybe?) bugs I found: 1. I glitched out of the map when I got pushed out by mice 2. The numbers for energy and multiplyer sometimes get wierd values, like .111111111111.

And I have to say this again: LOVE the music! :D

Earl's Quest by wujood 2017-12-05T11:47:44Z

Thank you all for the amazing feedback!! I hope we will be able to fix the issues you mentioned in the near future. Yes, this has been made in less than 72 hours. Basically its just a little more than 48h, because where we live, lodum dare started at 3am on a saturday and ends on a tuesday at 3am. So we only had the saturday, sunday and a little bit of our monday to work on it.

Thank you all so much! It was a lot of fun and a lot of hard work and seeing everybody enjoy it is so awesome!!

Perigee by zee 2017-12-05T14:57:00Z

My bunny populatio is ever growing so you could say I single handedly saved the world. You are welcome!! Nice game, clever Idea, cool graphics, fit the theme, funny story. It has everything! Loved it!

Avalanched by Leo Sa 2017-12-05T12:47:56Z

I like the graphics and the style but it gets frustrating for the wrong reasons very quick.

The idea is very nice, althouh I wouldnt really find anything that implemented the theme. Some sort of buffer between dying and respawning would be nice. Teleporting back to the beginning, without any feedback as to how you were hit is a little frustrating.

I would make the level longer, add a buffer and have some sort of life system, so that one or two mistakes are allowed without having to do it all over again.

One (maybe) bug I've found: It seemed to me like the numbers under the clouds indicate that they diasppear when touched. That worked for some and not for others.

Critter Sitter by dvdfu 2017-12-14T00:30:25Z

Fun game!! Although its a little dificult to remember which monster does what. But I guess thats part of the difficulty of the game ^^

Speed Date Shuffle by NotExplosive 2017-12-05T14:41:12Z

Wow, I never played a game like this!! This was really something new and a lot of fun! The graphics are amazing!! Clean style and a lot of detail. Even though I dont know how exactly the theme plays into it, the game itself is awesome! Everything just workes so clean and the fact that the menu is a smartphone is very clever! Having to wait for the date to stop talking makes it accually feel like a date a bit :D The cardgame is a nice game by itself but the timing to avoid interrupting adds to it perfectly. Loved it!

The Adventures of Marty Graw by Samusoidal 2017-12-07T02:01:02Z

A creative spin on those runner games with the chests on the side. Liked the artwork. Good job! :)

Problems? by Viza 2017-12-04T18:22:10Z

Fun game, nice way to implement the theme. Its really challenging, especially when I am moving peaces that almost explode and another one spawns infront of it. Also love that they are not just blocks but accual tasks. Great Job! :)

I do think some backgroundmusic would be nice though :)

Fluffy Space Escape by potatolain 2017-12-05T01:32:51Z

2017-12-05 02_31_13-Fluffy Space Escape (NES) _ cpprograms.png Very fun game! And the fact that you can accually play it on a console is amazing to me!! And I really bonded with my little sheep. I felt bad every time it didnt make it :D

Petrucio, the gem stealer by Thiago Ferraro 2017-12-06T15:06:04Z

Fun little game. Like the graphics and the misuc. All works very smoothly. Well done! :)

Never Enough [SCREENSHAKE] by Rumpffinator 2017-12-05T12:25:29Z

Its a lot of fun to play. Very fluent and nice art. However, the game glitches around when my shield breaks in a higher level and I get 5 levelups :D Love the artstyle :)

Sorted by Ryan Temple 2017-12-14T00:15:56Z

Its not a bad concept but it gets repetitive really quick. You need to find another way to make it more challenging, other than it simply getting quicker. Or at least add some sort of flashy effects. Exploding boxes or maybe a box that sticks to the others so that you can pick up multiple boxes of one color. Or a pickup or something where everything slows down. The way it is now, losing feels like its bout to happen at about the same point for everybody.

Hope I could give some constructive feedback. The concept is fun and definetly a good Idea for a first entry. Keep it up :)

Boomstick Leaper by pataya 2017-12-14T00:35:41Z

Fun game and really challenging. Flyinr around like that makes it really diffucult to hit anything and avoid spiders at the same time.

Technologis by TheFunAttic 2017-12-14T19:44:16Z

Very fun game! Nicely polished, beautiful graphics, cool music that sets the mood for moving fast. Really nicely thought trough. loved it!

Too Many Chooks by Schu 2017-12-05T01:58:01Z

Fun and challenging game. It really gets difficult. The little sizzle has a nice ring to it. I also love the fact that they keep laying eggs once the game is over. :D

Hotdogs Hunger and Hand Pain by SeanW 2017-12-05T01:16:09Z

2017-12-05 02_14_19-Hotdogs Hunger and Hand Pain by seanw265.png That was fun! I absolutly loves the sounds and the voice! One of the best ones so far! H-O-T-D-O-G WHAT DOES THAT SPELL!?! HOTDOG! :D Awesome idea!

Overloaded by yishalee 2017-12-05T12:35:21Z

I was able to download and play it. Fun idea, although the controls are a little bit clumsy, even at the start of the game. I Like the graphics and the world, with the paint flying around it, looks cool.

I definetly feld the controls get worse as the game progressed. Its really challenging! Nice job :)

Gina's Bed & Breakfast by CameronJSamuels 2017-12-05T00:40:18Z

A very creative approach on the theme! The dialog was funny and I liked the text effects in it. Although the game aimed to make me think about my diet, it kind of made me crave burgers now :D

Crapbag by acoto87 2017-12-05T01:42:54Z

Cool puzzle. I didnt get the dynamic of the monsters spawning in the directon one was walking to get the hearts. After that, it was fairly easy to clear the game. Has a nice retro feel to it. I would only maybe add some music. Other than that, just more levels to play :)

Bulls & Tomatoes by Wheezy247 2017-12-07T01:55:05Z

Its a fun game but for some reason the audience stopped throwing tomatoes after a while. All I had to do from there was to press W and I could have gone on indefinetly. I stopped after a while: 2017-12-07 02_52_04-BullsandTomatoes.png

I really like how well everything comes together. The tomatoes color the player red, wich is said to agetate bulls. The music has a spanish vibe to it, although its very repetitive. Cool game though :)

Fish Catchers by Sinci1 2017-12-05T15:12:08Z

Fun little game. I like how the boat accually gets smaller. Looks really cool! The controls are a little sluggish. Changing between moving and attacking as some sort of timer. Afer I moved, I have to wait to attack. That makes a little frustrating to play. Other than that, its fun :)

Space Dungeon by bbaf 2017-12-14T18:28:21Z

Like the concept but the controls are really difficult to manage. Its all way too quick and there are way too many bullets from the getgo. So the game itself is good, fun and challenging but it needs to be polished a little bit to make it more enjoyable.

I beat it at the 4th try btw ^^

Do You Mind If My Buddy Joins the Band? by Brandon Anderson 2017-12-05T00:53:03Z

Nice game, love the music! The idea to assign a name to every letter is cool. It was a little easy though. The bar basically always turned green ad the end so it was kind of easy to time the click.

Its a very creative take on the theme. I would love to play a larger version of this, where the switches between the players gets quicker with every 'level' and you have to type out their name completly or something. Making it more challenging.

Making it Hail by BalladofSong 2017-12-05T15:03:33Z

I like the 2D play with a 3D artstyle, but as already mentioned by others, it needs to be zooed out more. Maybe speed up the movement aswell, the controls could be a little cleaner. The octopus with the mustache is a big plus! :D

Also, adding some brighter background would greatly improve the ambience of the game I think :)

Smack`Em! by mess110 2017-12-05T14:28:12Z

Fun game with beautiful graphics. There is a reason this game is one of the base classics and the fact that it fits the theme perfectly, makes it even better! Sadly, I cant play it with my volume up right now, so I wont rate the audio yet. Since you made it with "your trusty guitar", as you mentioned, I will definetly come back to that!!

As some already mentioned, the losing screen is too subtle. Maybe its indicated by sound that I cant hear by now. But still. I would keep the fact that all critters are up, but I would also add some "game over" and a final score or something.

Cool! :)

ParanoWeed by Eraleis 2017-12-04T18:43:00Z

Fun nice artstyle. Love the colours and especially the sounds! Would like a little more content though and I dont know how this fits the theme. Maybe "the more you have, the worse it gets" is directed towards the weed, because the level changes after that and gets more difficult, but I would love to see a little more :)

Greedy Merchants by jlreymendez 2017-12-05T01:51:22Z

2017-12-05 02_48_15-Greedy Merchants by jlreymendez.png

Very cool game! Took me a second to get how one turns into a white-flag ship and a pirate. Its really fun. Would accually love to play this at a lan-party. Calming, fun music and I absolutly love the 'ARRGH!' The graphics were nice aswell, especially the little horse on the flag.

What can I say, I got to be a pirate. Loved it!

Leaning Tower by Patrick D 2017-12-05T01:09:31Z

Fun little game, very creative take on the theme. I had soemthing similar in mind the first time I heared it. Like the music aswell :)

Jump Squad by Taiku 2017-12-04T18:15:44Z

I agree with @mrnyarlathotep, its difficult to estimate distances. That makes it especially difficult in the beginning and it gets a little frustrating. The camera movement takes a little getting used to, because its really quick, but one gets used to it. After that, its really pretty fun and challenging! I also love the fact that its not just about agility and control but also about a little bit of tactic. Choosing a leader and choosing the number of characters you take with you can be very helpful. And the ending made me chuckle :D

I would like to see the game with some background, some music and as many levels and challenges as possible. Maybe movable objects that can kick you off or something. Its a really great idea for a game and from this point, it can basically grow in any direction! Loved it!

One more thing. While I did enjoy the game, it did seem to have a little graphics bug. I played the web version of the game on firefox and the floor was more or less invisible. The top sides of the squares the floors are made of hade an invisible top side. So basically I had to hold the camera at an angle, to even see the floors. Looking from above, they were allmost completly invisible. Running on Windows 10, Firefox.

Jump Squad by Taiku 2017-12-05T11:54:49Z

@taiku I've just found out how to post pictures here so this time i can accually provide a screenshot :D

2017-12-04 18_57_28-itch.io.png

I use Firefox 57.0.1 (64-Bit). If there is any more information I can provide to help you find the bug, please let me know. I'll be glad to help.

The thing in the bottom of the world really helps though. Well done!

Mortal Komba by kokirisandfriends 2017-12-05T15:15:49Z

I think the artstyle is the best ive seen so far. The theme is implemented perfectly. Its smooth, its challenging, it looks gorgeous, its different. Absolutely loved it!

LD42 — Running out of space

Grid Locked by DrunkardWolf 2018-08-13T16:57:34Z

1807 points! Really fun game! I remember a time where I searched the internet for action loaded mini games all day long. This took me back. Thanks for this great submit. If you made this game bigger in terms of levels and abilities, it could basically become a full sized game. Love the idea, the art, the mechanics and the music.

AL - A Choose Your Own Adventure by starvingindie 2018-08-13T16:51:58Z

I came to a point where I die with every option I choose but all in all the game is really fun! I love the concept, the art and the humorous story telling. Great Game!

Virus by bronydell 2018-08-13T16:37:04Z

Super fun game. Love the humor :D

Keeper of Balance by Cosmic Adventure Squad 2018-08-19T07:00:06Z

Played to aout 150 years. Really love the game. Especially all of those little inofficial references to infinity wars and other hero movies and shows. Love the small planet games, one of my favourite formats. The only thing is, it got repetitive after I figured out that the easyest way to success was to just quickly mow down the bosses, which was not hard, and then use the space bar ability. So rasing the difficulty and/or maybe letting the game have a win situation like getting the population to 5% would make it even better. Maybe introduce a highscore board or something

Rocket Girls by tcmxx 2018-08-13T16:44:42Z

Really fun game. At first I didnt get it but it does not take log to get what the abilities are and what to do. Live the 8-bit vibe.

Space Invasion by Nam Nguyen 2018-08-19T06:38:12Z

Simple, fun and challenging

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

D.N.N. Engineer by wujood 2021-04-27T19:14:25Z

Really good game! The parts that fly out of sight are a bit annoying but at the same time pose a neat little challenge. Failed twice at level 10 because of it, but at the same time was really happy when I kept it in mind and managed to get it right. Which is what puzzel games are about: Frustration -> Gratification. This game delivers that well. Especially love the fact that this can be easily expanded with new nodes, bigger levels, walls and other stuff. Just like modern mobile games or oldschool flash games do. Also nicely done with the theme. Not taking "Deep" literally and instead twisting the word to equate it to the "depth" of a neural network by making the levels have more nodes. Clever! Considering you had to do it all alone, the choice of graphics and sound didnt really lack anything. It all fit the simplicity of the game. Really well done!

(P.S. Something went wrong with the level count. It goes from 5 to 8)

LD55 — Summoning

Summons Racer by paulhocker 2024-04-16T14:11:36Z

Writing this part of my comment before I even play the game: Immediately hooked by the soundtrack.

"Why dont I just go as fast as I can?" Because of a really cool police chase mechanic! :D

The game is simple and fun. Really intuitive and a nice little spin on the theme "summoning". As far as I could tell, the exp and money doesn't yet do anything? Would have expected to have some "upgrade" mechanic after day 1.

Overall, cool game :)

gladiatorium by Jejkobb 2024-04-16T16:10:47Z

Simply: Super fun! But the third summon sadly didnt work for me. WOuld have loved to try it, because the rolley ones were so fun to watch :D **very** good submission!

Combirunes by DreamTeck 2024-04-16T14:31:56Z

My notes while playing: - Classic medival music. Feels like we're in a casle or an old market. - Smart choice in the tutorial to "fail" to summon, because the position has not been selected. - Having a pause option is really useful for writing these notes :D - The first summon looks a bit odd. Took me a second to figure out it was a zombie missing a leg. - The fact that you have to be smart with your resources and cant just spam them gives the game another dimension in terms of difficulty. - Scrolling through the book: "Ok. I need to summon the dragon asap!" - The dragon has some wierd gray stripes that kind of look like they are not supposed to be there

Im leaving my notes because this game simply has a *lot* going on. Like the summoning concept, different pricing and the variation in ability with the ranged summons you put in. Among the classics like zombie, blob and dragon, you also created some pretty cool creatures like the moth, which I found pretty neat!

The tutorial is very well made. Playing it immediately explained the whole game. Afterwards, I felt like I knew exactly what I was doing.

Sometimes I didn't quite know what order on the board my runes would be placed, so I had to take them back to choose another one to get the order for my summoning right. Marking the "next spot" with a little arrow or glow would be helpful.

Nice game! :)

Spirit Stone's Summon by Ausstein 2024-04-16T13:51:37Z

Good concept, well executed. Really like the artstyle of the different creatures, especially the player character. Always got sad when my bunny got killed. The concept of planting stuff as an "investment" to increase energy intake to become stronger is well done, although I didnt quite get it at first, collected the energy from the dead stuff around me and immediately summoned a mushroom for 20*. That's a fail on my part though and doesn't take away from the game.

But I do agree with the previous comments, the balance is a bit off. Got the choice to go for the 100* Deer, which would have been cool to summon, but way too expensive at that point. The bunny became pretty weak very quickly and unless you summon a lot of plants in the beginning, you'll have a bad time. The music was nice and calming, but some more menacing soundeffect e.g. for when the wave starts would have been nice. A bit odd to have calming music when you're seconds away from being overrun by spiders and snakes :D

Loved the little intro. Even though it was simple, I let out an audible gasp at the prospect of all of the forest life having been killed. Really felt that one :D

Overall a strong entry! Well done! :)

Skelly the Braven't by StormSword 2024-04-16T18:24:41Z

Awesome game! Feels really polished and brings me back to the times of flashgame sites like miniclip :D The core game mechanic is really creative and the little head bobble just makes it fun to walk around. The level progression is also very creative and satisfying. The fact that there is no hard cut but simply bigger skeletons that wont get hit by the circle is a good choice. Feels more fluent that way and the player gets to see and aim for what comes next. The background music compliments the graveyard look perfectly and sets the mood for a well hit theme. And of course best of all: Lets gooo!! :D

Aphantasia by Bitlytic 2024-04-24T19:14:48Z

I was really excited to see someone make a game very similar to ours. However, I could not get the summoning to work so I didnt get past the first little cliff :( Would love to play it! Can you provide some expanation as to how the summons work? I clicked the blue colored square, the notepad and free space in the game world but nothing ever happened :/

Aphantasia by Bitlytic 2024-04-26T20:31:00Z

@bitlytic Ah, my bad! I read the 1-2-3 as inumerations instead of keys to press. Should have been obvious, brainfart on my end :D Real neat game! We had the same base idea. Guess great minds think alike! :D I really like the character design, especially in the thumbnail. The little signs give enough instructions for the player to explor the mechanics without getting frustrated and the abient music is nice and calm and fits well to the graphics. Although I do agree with the first comment that the jump sound is a bit "fuzzy" compared to the background music. Overall, really good polished game!

Leprechaun's Gold by Stowy 2024-04-16T16:24:14Z

TI TI WA PI KO!! Casting the little spells was fun :D Although I have to admit, that it took me a bit to understand that I need to use the arrows and not like e.g. streetfighter where I have to use the actual movement buttons to make my attack :D

I also like the layered 2D style.

Would have loved some more levels and challenges.

But probably the most fun part was failing to do the cast correctly. Summoning a little poop and giving it physics was a nice little touch xD

Crafted Calamities by Sven Walter 2024-04-16T13:29:41Z

Cool game! Who doesn't like a good bullet hell? I really liked the 3D pixel graphics. Nice merge of oldschool art and modern fluent and free movement. The music also fits very well and the summoning animation, while simple, looks really cool. Also good choice in making the abilities stand out with the black and white style.

Sadly I had a bit of a technical issue when playing in web. I dont have the largest monitor and for some reason I couldnt [F11] to get my game to go to fullscreen, so parts of the game screen were missing (tested it, F11 does work on other tabs in my browser). That paired with the fact that you need to click the enemy to actually shoot, was a bit annoying. Shame, because I think you did a great job and would have loved to play as it was intended.

I didn't really need the dash ability, but maybe that's because I only got up to like 5-6 kills. That's not a bad thing though!! It just shows the good responsiveness and balanced speed setting of the players movement! Moving around and dodging felt natural and when I got hit I knew it was because *I* failed, not the game.

A second ability would have been cool. Maybe right click for a channeling shot that does more dmg and that you get after making your first summon that used all outer nodes of the pentagram or something. Would be a good contrast to the auto-aim base ability and would add some risk.

Overall, cool concept and good execution!! :)

DURO by Fenix131113 2024-04-16T17:25:47Z

The summons were not 100% clear after the tutorial but thankfully the level design was short enough to allow the player to simply try stuff and restart without becoming frustrating. Also, the level design was actually challenging! Which is often times the big difficulty for creating puzzle games! Same for the character design! The little hooded mages are simply yet really satisfying. Cool game! Edit: ALso, you hit the theme on the head!
