Cool idea and nice graphics but game is slow in some moments.

It would be interesting to see these mechanics expanded on. I like the puzzle mechanics of guiding the rats around and it would be cool to see that implemented more in the combat encounter. For such a short time this is a solid entry!

Puzzles mechanics were solid. I liked the dreamscape graphics too.

I enjoyed this game. I liked having a group of rats running around with me, so it was sad when I had to leave them on a button. The gate puzzle was the best, but the dialogue unfortunately spoiled it. I also managed to skip the see-saw by just walking straight across it. This felt like the introduction/tutorial for a really good puzzle game - I now know the main mechanics: leaving rats on buttons, guiding rats through small spaces I can't reach, and using rats to weigh down objects so I can walk on them. It would be cool to see some more advanced puzzles combining these mechanics, maybe with another flag to have multiple groups of rats at once. The boss fight was funny, and it would be cool to see other enemies which the rats attack. I did start to get bored with the slow movement speed. This is still very impressive for a jam game, and would be a good start for a full game!

I really liked, I want to play a full version one day

Nice chill puzzle game. Solid mechanics. The rats were cute. Not sure what was up with the boss monster, it died very quickly without doing much. The near plane clipping effect when going upstairs was interesting.

I really liked the visuals, both the colors and the subtle chromatic aberration. One can wonder what could be done with this plus some Tunic-like camera. Good job!

@ned-murry I was hoping to get some more puzzles in but alas, time-limits. Having multiple flags to split the rats up was also on my list of ideas but ultimately it got cut, cool that you had the same idea! Thanks for playing

@someone Thanks for the feedback! The boss 'fight' was very much a last minute, slapped together encounter to wrap the game up. (and also to use my Ludum Dare mascot, Crabulon)

Very successful entry, simple & pretty graphics with interesting puzzles)

I always approve of more friendly rat themed games.

Very nice entry, I loved the idea & really liked the art direction. The gameplay gave me some nice "aha!" moments, it feels consistent to make something more! Summoning and leading groups of entities to solve puzzle reminded me of Pikmin & games that use the same kind of mechanic, this is very nice. And I definitely want to know, why is this sorcerer invoking cute rats? :D

I'm happy, and I frankly don't know why

funemaker 2024-04-24 00:20

Nice job, fun to summon rats when I need them!

alexis-brochec 2024-04-26 18:06

nice job, really good art direction. Good soundtrack even tho there is a small gap in the loop. Nice psychedelic design. A bit to easy, I killed the boss in 2s by holding the right click..

Really cute entry, great job.

Would love to see some more puzzle levels with this concept!

The walking speed feels a bit languid for my tastes.

I think turning gears, operating a pulley system, elevators, scales, see saws, would be such a fun level design playground!

I think you should be able to unlock a second flag to split up your group of rats for example.

coderaurus 2024-04-27 15:02

Nice chilly game. I like the dream like combination of environment's style and the music. I feel you gave a good taste of what the gameplay could be with the summoning mechanic. Would be interesting to see the concept taken further - like progressively increasing rat army and commanding them into several points.

Good job!

I loved the graphics. I don't really think you can create too many too complicated puzzles with this mechanic, but I can definitely imagine it being a part of a bigger game like It takes two. Very well done. Enjoyed it a lot. (please rate our game too, we are missing just 3 ratings)

The art is really amazing. Love the models and the backgrounds. Fun mechanic, wish you could have the rats go back to following you (get rid of the current flag)
