Amazing job! Puzzles are neat, right balance of tricky and readable, and graphics and sound are amazing!
The mechanism is really creative and I like your puzzle in the map. Although it did trap me for some minutes, but as soon as I figured out it was really clever. Also the art and sounds are great too, can't believe you guys finished this in only 72 hours.
This is such a rad, innovative idea! I really loved the puzzle elements that were execution based but you can do it on your own time. I think this is definitely worth expanding out post-jam! There's absolutely a huge audience out there for this. The glitchy music fits well, too :)
Great game with a great use of limited space. The puzzles are also cool an it really fits the theme.
Fantastic game! Tricky platforming, interesting mechanics, beautiful graphics, and really moody music. Well done!
The Box is such a unique and innovative mechanic. The platforming was really great and pretty tricky at times. Once I got a grasp of the controls I was jump-rotating all over the place and it felt good!
This idea deserves to be expanded on. A ton of mechanics you can apply to The Box. Great job!
That's a unique idea and really good one, I loved it ! Graphics are amazing and level design is really clever ! Good job !
Definitely a unique idea. Graphics are cute, and I like the idle dance.
Thats really hard, but the idea is soo cool. Like a Puzzle Jump'n Run!
5/5 For all. Extremely well-made game. I think this is No.1 for all ratings.
I watched Kuvi play this game and asked you to share the link, so here I am!
This game looks and feels amazing! The art style is great. The music is going into my top-3 list I heard on this jam so far.
The plot also looks good and fits the theme.
I like this puzzle + platforming combo.
Your team did a good job on all the fronts!
The theme is implemented smartly. Cool idea! Cute art and nice audio design. It requires a little skill to play this game which makes it nice and challenging. Overall good game ^^
Great game, the box' mechanic is very cool and the level design is clever. Very good idea !
Wow, it really fit the theme and is really inovative. Great game :v:
Really awesome game idea. Loved the graphics, gameplay and overall vibe. Really great entry! :)
Great art, neat story and cute animation. The Puzzles are very simplistic, but at the same time pretty complex, i love it! The Theme was also implemented flawlessly. I just found one single bug with the momentum of the springs that was very hard and rare to get. And level 13 was a litte hard with squeezing in the rotation in the corner. All in all very well done in that short amount of time. I hope to see more in the next event from you guys <3 (Final Time: 0:08:24)
Very interesting interpretation of the theme, likely among the best ones possible. The framing of the boundary around the player as "safe space" is very clever, since it gives an intuitive explanation of the mechanic's behavior and why it would turn an otherwise broad open map into something very limiting. Overall very solid in all aspects too. Well done!
Really clever and also amazing art and sound! Great work! It's insane that you were able to achieve this in only 3 days! Unfortunately the complex shapes are very buggy :D
great take on the theme, some challenging platforming. The art is great, well done and congrats!
Very interesting mechanics! I can't say movement of the character is native for me, sometimes I jump near the edge of next platform but the frame just won't move. Very cool graphics and sound!
Wow, what a great idea and nice execution! This was really fun, and I love the art style.
clever gamedesign! well done
It's definitely very polished. Interesting take on the theme. I really like the industrial style in both graphics and music and how consistent it is. The gameplay is very intuitive and just feels nice. Good job!
omg what a cuuuute ending ToT 5/5 i love everything about it, gamepad pog, gg team ^^ image_2023-10-03_185406435.png
This is cute and really polished. Some of the puzzles were over my head, so I didn't get to the end, but it's a good looking product and a great jam game.
@cheesepencil Thank you for playing! <3 If you feel like finding the end (and watching the final cutscene), you could skip through the levels (and mash through dialogue) uses F2 :D
Such a badass game! I really like the challenge, took me a while to understand controls (tried it with joystick). But the vibe, music, visuals - something next level, really - well done!
Beautiful game and very enjoyable to play (even though I got angry at times). The gameplay is very polished and the artistic part (music and drawing) is beautiful.
My only negative comment is about the spring physics. In my opinion, it's bad to control the jump height. This is something to improve.
Congratulations for the game.
Nothing to say, a really great game, very challenging and smart, and very great art! :)
Really well made game. I went for the F12 option after all, but I was surprised ho many levels you made. Music somewhere between super meat boy and Portal, loved it. Very well polished.
Very nice concept!
Game is challenging but fun. Art and sound sets a good mood π
Thank you for making this! It's a phenomenal experience, deserves to be there with Celeste and Super Meat Boy! Loved it, even though it was really really hard :)
A really great game ! Felt like a finish one, kind of amazing you did all this in one week end. Just an opinion, but maybe the game was too big and ambitious, I felt like the difficulty was a bit too pushed and the game could have beneficiate more attention on quality of life improvement or balance of the difficulty between levels. But I guess you can argue it's a choice of design. Still, it is really impressive, congrats to your team you can be proud of you all and I hope you had some sleep since this week end
Game is infuriating, but in a lovely sort of way. Love the art, the mood, and the "what if Celeste but Tetris" idea is pretty novel as well. Game is polished remarkably well, and limited mechanics are explored in a way that makes full use of the idea. Excellent work!
Fun game, nice concept, nice level design, cute graphics!
ok, where can I throw my money? I would buy this. Everything is basically perfect, from the iterpretation of the theme, to the implementation, the graphics, the level design, the music and the story. And everything merge together, the level design and the story are perfect for this mechanic, and the art is perfect for the story. I loved every second of it. It's so polished that it's crazy to think that this was made during a game jam. Best game so far hands down, and definitely in my top three of all jams ever.
On the technical side I can only mention a bit of tearing with white stripes in the middle of the screen (html5 version), a couple of times were I kinda teleported, and the fact that the springs were a bit wonky sometimes. I was also a bit confused about the key icon in the first levels, was there an hidden key? I tried looking around but I couldn't find it. Oh and the gamepad is highly suggested, I started with the keyboard but everything changed when the fire nation attacked (and I tried the gamepad: way better experience).
And now it's time for a weird coincidence OT: while playing your game I remembered that during the theme slaughter I came across "giraffe", and approved it because I immediately thought of a platformer where the character is a giraffe and can use it's unusual shape to cling to platforms and rotate (similarly to what you did with the safe space here) and liked that idea. Well, after trying your game and enjoying it so much I looked at your previous games and found @kepsert profile description stating "I appreciate giraffes" and his LD50 game giraffe o'clock and was stunned. End of the weird OT, sorry for wasting your time, have a nice day and thank you for creating this gem.
Really fun and engaging, I beat all of the levels (but skipped some of the hearts). Controller support and modifiable key bindings were an extremely cool addition that I did not expect to see, and the game just felt very polished in general. I noticed a bug where a platform can get trapped in the frame with the player (it seems to only happen when the entirety of the object can be fit in the space) and one time I got moved out of the frame by a moving platform, but these were rare enough to not hinder my experience in any meaningful way. Incredible job!
I think this game definitely does a great job of adhering to the theme (the main mechanic really is all about that limited space and how to manipulate it well)! (Although, to echo sentiments above, it was definitely a bit tricky to get the hang of the mid-air rotations. It took me quite a while to figure out that I needed to rotate mid-air [or that I even could do so].)
The art is absolutely beautiful and I think that the overall vibes of the game are also fantastic. The color palette combined with the hands reaching out to grab you add to the general atmosphere in a way that's really, really well done and polished.
That end cutscene also made me feel all the feelings. (I had a very similar experience with one of my own grandparents not too long ago...)
Thank you for the wonderful game!
It's unbelievable that this is a jam game. It seems like a complete game to me, and it is. It even has a save slot. Okay, we're a team, but still. I'm impressed. I had to give maximum marks in everything. The box is very limiting as the theme predicts. I loved this box, it's so original. I was happy to have found this. I have no criticism here, nothing. Even the level skip button is nice to have. How did you achieve so much in such a short time? very good
Very interesting idea! You've definitely hit the topic of "limited space"! I like that the space helps us complete the level! Everyone has their own personal space! hahaha
@sbeif Thank you for playing!
Also funny how you mention it- I did NOT submit giraffes as a theme, it's basically other people memeing around my LD50 entry (which does in fact use an unusually shaped giraffe- completely different from this game, though!) :D
I'm glad you enjoyed this game!
HOW DARE YOU MAKE ME CRY LIKE THAT... AGAIN!? LOl, I always love playing your entries. Never fail to hit a chord and make me shed a tear. Can't wait to see how you'll do it next jam!
Only main issues are that I've gotten my safe space stuck in a wall and had to restart the level twice. Otherwise very smooth and gripping. Planned to take 30 minutes on this one and found myself completely engaged 2 hours later! Great job! Now to try and speedrun it!
Wow! It turned out great! I liked the story, although my grandmother died, I think I need to find all the hearts to save her. I was very pleased that it was possible to skip levels.
Beautiful. Just beautiful. And I don't only mean the graphics and the music (which are both great), but also the small but powerful story behind it all. Thank you for F2 ! This platformer is too much of a platformer for me. But I do appreciate the ingenuity of the safe-space mechanic. Quite unique!
intended behavior, nothing to see here aaaUntitled.png
Brilliant. Amazing gameplay concept, and works well with the theme and characterisation. Had to F2 through the last four or so levels as the difficulty crept up and I couldn't figure or time my way out. I was surprised the saw wasn't harmful, but the consistent palette works well so I don't mind having to figure out what's benign. Wouldn't mind a bit more variety in the grey blocks, but the art and style and music and mood in general are such a high standard. Unbelievable work for just one weekend!
Really well done, probably top 50 material. At first I felt like the music was probably too intense for what was going on in the game but things really ramped up. Great job; hope you do well in the jam
I also had my personnaly space invaded by a moving platform but overall great game, good level design and nice ambiance music
Thanks for letting me play this! Excellent job! Shout out to Frozen and Stoff! <3
Here's the VOD on YouTube to watch the gameplay, just skip to your chapter on the video! https://youtu.be/-eCnQ8GAhN8
Amazing theme use and really good feeling! I love this platform game in a platform game, really original!
Well done! Take a candy! :candy:
That's a very decent entry all around. Thanks a lot for the time I had with your game!
funny while difficult !!love this game ,so challenge
I really tried my best, and I tried to have fun with it too. Eventually little things here and there added up to my not having fun, and I ... honestly didn't like the ending? I understand it's supposed to evoke emotion but I just got frustrated that after all that struggle there was nothing in the end that was worth it (not even character growth). It made what I did struggle with all the more frustrating.
Maybe if I got all the collectibles I'd have gotten a different ending? But I am not going to make myself go through that again...
Lovely graphics and style and the accompanying audio was fantastic (although the more anxiety inducing ones in the level did only serve to further my frustrations as I struggled).
Great mechanic, really well used and built upon as the levels go.
I did find that if you get on the elevator and have the safe space hit a wall it will push it through you and cause you to be stuck.
I had a small bug at some point π
unsafe-passage.png
Nothing that stops me from thinking this was an amazing entry <3 (I had to quit on the last level because I couldn't get past the rest of the level after collecting the heart, but I'll try to come back to it later)
Thanks for submitting the game to the stream! If you wanted to watch it again in the future heres the vod timestamped to your game

Was pretty innovative! Graphics are clean and the idea is great. Lots of interesting puzzles. Only thing is that the platforming is difficult and feels a bit unforgiving / unfair. But overall really well done and this was a fantastic idea. Good entry!
I found the first levels a bit too long as an introduction for such a mechanic. Jumping to make a turn felt really awkward but has grown on me quickly. Its really fascinating how this block mechanic changes traversal completely! Well done and really nice art!
This is a really solid game! I loved the mechanics and the aesthetic of the game! Occasionally had some weird issues with my position being displaced while rotating in narrow spaces, but overall great job!
Another awesome platformer from Kep and team! I really liked the main mechanic and the different ways its used in the level design is clever as heck! Took me a bit to get what kep was telling me about the speed boost jump tech, but it was even more fun once i figured it out xD
such a great, brand new idea! i like it so much!
so this game is a platformer with strange collision boxes + as a debug, the collision box has been drawn to the screen?
Holy crap, what a masterpiece! The art was beautifully done, the puzzles were challenging (especially when the dash started playing a part), the quantity of levels and content is amazing for 72hrs! My only, one and only gripe - it felt like there needed to be checkpoints after the super difficult jumps/rotations. I cannot count how many times I started getting slightly frustrated at getting the first part, then falling to a hole I could never be aware of until too late XD. Other than that, this was awesome. The ending hit like a truck too... rip. Great work!
@tero-pulkkinen Not exactly! You can 1. Rotate that collision box and 2. The collision box takes different shapes and is independent of the player, which means the player can set themselves up on differrent positions in said box, which is required for the little puzzles.
this is a very high quality entry.
I had a lot of fun... the idea is interesting and in the later levels, when my space changes, it provides the right balance.
graphics and music are great.
The only complaint I have is that sometimes I find the hitboxes too merciless..
still one of the best games I've played
Super impressive! This level of polish is outstanding, and the rotation/platforming mechanics are so smooth and intuitive. The audio design and art style mesh together perfectly with the gameplay, and it all adds up to a very engaging and atmospheric experience. You guys should be very proud of this one, and I'm very much looking forward to seeing what you create next!
Very clever take on the theme! And a very high level of polish for only three days. Great audio, graphics & level design. Fantastic work!
Great highly polished entry! Very well executed difficulty progression, slowly adding new mechanics one by one. Even though there's a lot to juggle, once you get the hang of gameplay, it's sooo satisfying to play!
Played through the whole game, collected all the hearts, but could not figure out how to beat the last level.
Whew, this game is definitely huge for a game jam entry! And really hardcore one!
It took me some time and effort to pass it all through. I suspected that hearts are needed, but ending showed me why :(
Btw the core idea and level design are great! Very nice entry!photo_2023-10-12_22-47-43.jpg
You turned the "safe space box" into an essential platforming mechanic. Good job.
Extremely impressive for a jam entry. Level of polishing, attention to details, new mechanics to keep game fresh, the sheer length of the game, storytelling. Absolutely incredible work!
Possibly my favourite entry thus far! Mechanically is probably one of the most inventive, and adding to that is literally everything else that also wasn't skimped upon. It has polish, it has atmosphere, it has content, what else could one person ask for? Big props to everyone involved!
This is really good. Looks good, sounds nice, plays well! Clever puzzles that were fun to solve and some nice atmosphere with the moody stuff going on. Spooky hands and so on obviously. The only thing I didn't really like was that the story and the way it was tied to the mechanics felt a bit⦠tacked on? Nonetheless lots of high scores from me, amazing work!
This feels like one of those games that after a couple of months of polishing is eventually released as a successful pro indie game.
Foreshadowing?
Great platformer! Well thought out mechanics and it even has collectibles? Liked the story, but I will not forgive you for the ending! Good audio and SFXs as well!
Some polish points: - You could rotate into blocks and get stuck. - Maybe put some fog or something at the bottom holes to indicate death? I sometimes fell and died straight away since I didn't know I would die there. This later also happened because the camera was not zoomed out enough to see what was below me, this could probably be fixed by allowing the player to look up/down by holding S/W for a while? - I am not completely sure how the velocity worked on the bounce pads, sometimes I got higher by repeating jumping and sometimes I didn't... Especially in the last level I felt like I completed the last jump by accident.
Really polished entry, thank you for the submission!
This gave me the same type of joy I had when playing Celeste. What a marvelous piece you put together!! Story art, and not LEAST the design and levels, slowly ramping up in difficulty and complexity. Last one was tough, but finally found my way through (I wonder if might've missed one heart though..?)
