LD50 — Delay the inevitable

The Last Church by sawtan 2022-04-05T00:24:20Z

Oof, I placed a high-cost tower first and immediately lost. (edit: twice in a row.) LOVED the Loop Hero style graphics and sfx. The spooky horn on round start is especially great. In general, one of my favorites so far!

Garden War by Firesplash Entertainment 2022-04-05T02:23:05Z

This is a massive game considering the time you had! Very impressed, especially with the attention to detail — I tried to wall off my stand and the fact that you not only had already covered this case but that you had SFX for it too! Not bad, not bad at all :)

Different Strokes by Scott Steffes 2022-04-05T14:50:23Z

@zolar WHAT!! How did THAT get there...??? ;)

Different Strokes by Scott Steffes 2022-04-22T00:51:19Z

Fixed now!

Message in a Bottle by hechi 2022-04-05T16:31:02Z

Ahh I want to play this so badly but I'm on a mac!! T_T I really love games with passive, calm, anonymous multiplayer.

Heal me, please! by Andrey_Zhukov 2022-04-05T00:15:35Z

Hah!! I loved this! I love when the solution is also the problem — it makes for a really fun gameplay loop. The only thing I wanted was a hotkey to open/close the shop, since I spent so much time browsing it.

HEXATTACK! by kurrik 2022-04-05T00:04:10Z

Love the visual style; it's super easy to pick up and play. It almost feels like it could become a rhythm game! I'd love to see some kind of preview of where I'm about to spawn the layer so I could tactically try to overwrite the encroaching enemies!

just drive. by Str0nkyK0ng 2022-04-05T00:32:37Z

This is my jam (no pun intended). I love a narrative game, and executing something passive that conveys a feeling is every bit as valuable as something more mechanics-driven. Not everyone will get this game, but I liked it. Good work. One little thing -- are you properly despawning assets once you pass them? My computer heated WAY up with no reason to do so while playing.

IBYH!? by Trabasura 2022-04-05T03:19:23Z

Woah, I didn't know what to expect going in, but the microgame approach fits perfectly for a frantic getaway! I love that the "lives" in the game each had a bit of personality and dialog; I had a blast playing. Great job!

Venting Machine by EmberUshi 2022-04-05T23:32:10Z

Ayyy took me way too long to figure out I didn't need to mash to charge up my midair hit, but I got a few lucky shots in and made it to 1311. Gg!

Mages and Essay Pages by Haastregt 2022-04-05T00:08:50Z

Just a heads up — on a macbook here and a lot of UI elements were clipping off the edges of the screen.

suffocate by Sam Feng 2022-04-05T01:54:18Z

The game made me breathe along with its pace — making it incredibly immersive! I didn't have the patience to wander slowly, but running made my remaining life all too short... VERY well done.

You will fall by adobobo 2022-04-05T00:10:20Z

I, for one, appreciated the slower movement. I really liked the feeling of hitting that perfect angle where you slide perfectly along a tunnel. The fact that the walls are 3d made it a little tricky to tell when I was going to hit sometimes.

LD51 — Every 10 seconds

Beat Survivor by pndaa 2022-10-07T07:23:49Z

Woahhhh what a fun game!! I can't believe you made an entire upgrade tree in the time allotted! Really cool! I loved how the 3rd enemy spawner would make just 1 enemy in a really annoying place forcing you to move in unique patterns. Great entry!

ROAD TXTR by congusbongus 2022-10-04T06:29:47Z

Woahhhh what a fun little arcade-y irreverent bit of joy! Thank you for making it web-playable, as well. Snappy and fun! I really appreciate that you actually have an end, rather than an endless "play-till-you-lose" style. What an absolute banger in the background, too!??

10 Second Mixtape by Scott Steffes 2022-10-04T22:08:57Z

@tharky @100th-coin Game is back! The perils of making an online game — if your database crashes while the network guy is asleep, we get some downtime. Thanks for being patient :)

10 Second Mixtape by Scott Steffes 2022-10-07T11:47:50Z

@nash Thanks for the comment! You're definitely right about the challenges of group-curated and group-edited content — we're still feeling out that space and some things hit harder than others, and I think there's a lot of opportunity there. We'll keep exploring! Thanks for playing :)

Train Trader by FadrikAlexander 2022-10-07T07:11:50Z

Wow, this is a big range of systems to make in 3 days! Great job! I wish it started with maybe 4-5 commodities, and somehow expanded with time. I was a little overwhelmed with the range of items and the numbers not highlighting what I had and didn't have. Add in the timer, and I had no time to learn how to play!

Natural Snek-lection! by Falk Hoeppner 2022-10-04T06:36:02Z

I felt pretty lost, and with no time to figure it out (a casualty of the theme this year, of course) I devolved into just hitting space on anything around me. It seemed to... work? Though? I wasn't sure. Love the trogdors and the silly sfx! Btw, pretty low frame rate on a mac, not sure about other devices.

A Little Bit Of Everything by Matt Ravenhall 2022-10-04T09:16:19Z

I loved the ones where you got creative with it. The flag chasing me down is what finally ended my run.... Great example of using megasimple mechanics to make a full experience, and snappy to boot!

Cat Wave RUN by CooLguNxDD 2022-10-04T06:39:14Z

The quick time event combat system is a nice touch! The grass really looks like you should be able to run through it, though — pokemon taught me that hahaha The music is jamming and feels like a race, but not really like running away. I kind of like the lighthearted vibe it gives the whole experience, though! :)

DECAPHASE by Grif_in 2022-10-04T06:47:40Z

Whoo! What a rush. I love a good tower defense, and this did not disappoint. Running the mac build was much, much smoother than webGL. I could see myself revisiting this to kill some time, and that's not light praise. I can imagine a setup that will really knock them down.... Okay, maybe just one more round.

LD53 — Delivery

Package Panic by Porcus_Pie 2023-05-03T11:08:24Z

Love the game and the vibrating energy of everything! I wish I could have figured out what to press to rotate pieces — I got stuck pretty fast dying over and over with lots of vertical 2-blocks and not able to do anything about it.

Days on the Lake by nardandas 2023-05-03T03:53:11Z

Phew, this heated up my m2 macbook pro! I haven't ever heard the fans kick in this much. I loved the water texture and the pixel style. I wish there was a little more warning before I slammed into an island from offscreen, especially when traveling vertically. I appreciate the simplicity of the controls, too :)

Too Hot to Hendl by Fis 2023-05-03T11:13:00Z

The calm music fits the atmosphere well. The floaty movement made it very easy to platform, which I appreciated. I wish I could pick up a box that I was standing on. I also kind of wish I could compare times to others — the simpler levels needed a little more energy for me, and competition would do that.

Dante's Delivery Service by Scott Steffes 2023-05-04T02:25:35Z

@rickylee 🦾🦾🦾🦾🦾🦾🦾 I like to imagine that the 10 hours between your two comments was spent grinding nonstop hahaha You've got a pretty hefty lead on second place!!

Dante's Delivery Service by Scott Steffes 2023-05-04T06:56:02Z

I want to inform the world that I am very sad that I couldn't find a place to use the phrase "deliver us from evil" in the game's copy.

MailBeats ✉️🎶 by Adam Gaskins 2023-05-04T07:00:53Z

Somehow the game froze on the web player (Firefox, M2 Macbook Pro). The music kept playing even after I closed the tab, it's just that powerful. What I DID get to play was absolutely fantastic, even if the road parallax hurt my brain. Having made rhythm games before, I know what a nightmare it is to get timing working. Good work!

MAGLEV 01 by Phobos 2023-05-03T05:44:10Z

Hiya! I've got some pretty severe flickering on the textured 3d objects. itch.io player, Firefox on Mac.

Bricks and Fire by sudocoffee 2023-05-03T04:37:21Z

what is this evil corporation hell-bent on world destruction!?!?! how can they be stopped?? I liked the way that boxes popped into combo boxes :)

Space Haulers Inc. by apoly 2023-05-03T04:02:43Z

Ooh, cool! I love management games. I had a little trouble figuring out the to/from system — am I taking the resources FROM Earth to send TO the moon? I also had to guess what each resource's icon meant to correspond to in the text dropdowns. Once I got the hang of it, though, I was off to the races! I really enjoyed watching the ships trying to swerve to land on the fast-moving planet.

LD54 — Limited Space

Unbelievable Universe by Igor KinGamer 2023-10-04T01:24:35Z

Cute and simple! Fun metaphor :) I want to see a version of this that simulates gravity and yanks moons into three-body-problem orbits! I will say it was hard to know how fast an orbit was going to be before placing a planet — maybe the preview indicator should show an animated version of its path?

Seagull Island | L'île aux Goélands by Seb_degraff 2023-10-04T01:01:33Z

Hey, what a wonderful experience! I'm not much of a cosy gamer, but I think the points element added just enough to push it into strategy territory for me. Love the ukulele as well. I wish it would detect for me when my tower was "stuck", I ended up with a lot of situations where I felt like I could keep going but all the options were X'd when I tried.

Amoeba Feast by Peco 2023-10-05T05:38:09Z

Somehow I really love that it keeps going after game over and you can just watch the bits pile up and pop within you. The silly goopiness and the sound effects are a lot of fun! Really excellently executed idea — not too big for a jam, not too small to be fun. Good work!

The King is Watching by Tvorojok 2023-10-05T08:20:46Z

Oh my god, this game is awesome!! What a great evolution of mechanics that exist in other games to make something special! I would have loved to see some logic or evolution behind the "active" production boxes. I really, really liked it.

PHYLLON by bradjste 2023-10-04T07:03:00Z

Not being able to see the outcome of the sliders until I tabbed over to the view was a little cumbersome to me, but it was simple enough. I had a little trouble figuring out what determined the ratings I got for each plant. I thought the lighting and colors added a lot to the game! I wish there was sound for even more atmosphere.

Safe Space Passage by Kepsert 2023-10-03T01:31:37Z

This is such a rad, innovative idea! I really loved the puzzle elements that were execution based but you can do it on your own time. I think this is definitely worth expanding out post-jam! There's absolutely a huge audience out there for this. The glitchy music fits well, too :)

Bit Golf by badcop 2023-10-07T07:48:17Z

You know your audience! This is the kind of thing that developers go WILD for. The colors are pleasing, the ui lovely, the sfx calm and nice, and the puzzles are varied enough to keep things interesting all the way through. All in all a very lovely entry!

LiGHTHOLDER by wolkp 2023-10-04T01:08:41Z

Wow, this is awesome! I love the lighthouse light beam being your weapon, it makes total sense. VERY satisfying to hit multiple monsters at once with it, too, and to mine multiple things at once. Very good execution of the loop — it didn't feel too long or too short either way :D I wish there was some music for the day and night!
