the progress markers are really cool! love the social aspect of this game
Wow this is really polished for only a few days of work. Well done!
The pain I feel – seeing my marker layer up on itself as I died in the _same_ spot multiple times. Oh gravy. But this was such a fun game! Simple controls, easy to get the hang of and fun to try and master. Great job!
I added online scoreboards to a jam game once, it nearly killed me and that was a week long jam. I must commend you for that, really great game, well polished and fleshed out. The dialog had me chuckling too, great stuff. Now I have to see if I can't get a higher score, I was just a few pixels shy of another user's marker.
What a speedrunnable game! I appreciate the online leaderboards, I'm the "100" that fell short of 100. The art's beautiful! While I wasn't a big fan of the uncontrolability of the controls I found they worked *for* me when I realized that while "charging" I slowed down. Beyond that - the speedrunning was really fun - and props to the writer! I found the lines super fun to voice!
The art on this is really nice! In general, this is a super polished entry. It could potentially have used more mechanical complexity, but as it is this is good, and polish is worth a *lot*.
This is really fun. The art looks great and polished, the music is fitting. And the writing is fun. Overall a great game.
Ahhhhhhh this was so good! Love the implementation of the dialogue. The dynamic between the two characters is really fun. And of course, the visual and spatial design of the level is excellent. Fantastic job, y'all!
Game felt real solid to play. Once I saw there was a leaderboard I was in full reckless mode. Still only managed to hit 150 seconds haha. Movement felt nice and hitting those jetstreams was fun. I think you guys nailed the balancing on your health since I made it to the end with like 1 hit remaining and I was going pretty fast.
The dialogue was pretty funny, although it was a bit difficult to read it since I was focusing on going fast ;D. That's just me though. I can see this game being a pretty chill experience if you're taking it slow.
Good job!
Very cool! A good mix of story, mechanics, and art!
Well done! Art and mechanics it's very nice
The art is out of this world, and the dialouge was such a great touch. The detail of shaking and wiggling texts add so much. I loved how simple the controls were, but I wish there were some more mechanics to play around with!
Outrageously polished. Well done.
Wow, holy crap! This game looks absolutely amazing. This like like a full on professional quality game. I'm super impressed!
The art, the music, the environment - just wow!
And the leaderboard - now I want to see if I can top my score!
Amazing
The art is absolutely insane! Super polished, great dialogue, everything is simply very well done. The only "nitpick" I can find to give you guys some feedback is the core mechanic. With how much you need to move it can feel a bit tedious. Regardless it's great as is, amazing work!
This is amazing. Really well done and polished game. The art style is great. I also love a lil bit of a speedrun
The art is awesome !
Stunning...
Everything about this is just fantastically executed. Well done.
Really good! I have no idea how people got those 90s times though--is there a movement trick that you can use? Best I could get was 140s.
Awesome! I love mouse based movement systems like this. The polish was amazing, and good job with the art!
@boxedmeatrevolution there are a couple of things you can do to get a better time! First, make sure you don't hold down charge when you don't need to, since it slows you down. Second, the boost zones are your friend! Releasing a charge inside one gives you a massive burst of speed. Third, there are a few checkpoints in the level. Learning where they are and taking a tactical death right after you cross one can help you reset your health without losing much time. Hope that helps! Happy speedrunning :)
Great! Super polished and plays very nice. The art is simply amazing, music is very fitting and levels are interesting and a joy to explore. And the comments the characters make are just a cherry on top of this delicious cake :)
Awesome! The only thing I found surprising is that running into fish damages your submarine instead of the other way around. Those are some resilient fish
Great game, I liked the online leaderboard
polish and cuteness are INSANE!! Really dig the movement too!
Love this! It did end up taking me 300 seconds, but the leaderboard makes me want to give it another try. I enjoyed the dialogue between the characters, and kept slowing myself down so I wouldn't miss any. The art is great and I like how it changes between zones, it made it feel like each section I got to was a real accomplishment, and the cool new art was my reward. Music is very cozy, sound effects are fantastic, I love that charged engine whir.
Alright! 28th best in the WORLD!!! ***ALL SHALL TREMBLE BEFORE ME***
The art was awesome! 5 stars for everything! Great game!
For science! The mechanic is easy to grasp but evidently difficult to master as seen from the leaderboard. My only complaints would be that it doesn't feel like the difficulty is ramping up throughout the game and that the braking effect of the thruster charging feels kinda wierd (too strong) to me.
Oh and the graphics are gorgeous! Can't put my finger on what they remind me of but they fit in perfectly!
+1 to all the polish comments you've already received. This feels ready to sell on Steam. When I realized I wasn't going to make top 5 on the leaderboard, I played around a bit looking for new paths. That playing led me back up to the surface where I learned I could jump out of the water. Blew my mind that you guys thought of that and added splash SFX and a dialogue of the professor yelling at me that we should go down, not up. Incredibly well done, you should all be very proud.
Woah! Great work for jam..Loved the narrative
Great all around I only had one issue with it being that the text went away just a little too fast, could just be me
Damn, lookin' great! Nice length for a compo game, plus the fun death indicators and of course just totally awesome looking. Nice work!
What a nice game! We have a similar idea in our game and its very interesting to see two different approaches. I really love your art style and the nature of the dialogues. The ancient Greek inspiration on some assets is a very cool touch too! Great submission, keep it up!
Everything about this game is amazing! It's on point in regards to the theme.. the humour is great too!
Hello! Your game was played on stream ( https://www.twitch.tv/ursagames/videos ) on 4/28.

I truly enjoyed your art and presentation! Those parallax backgrounds are pretty cool! That's at least how I explain my great score!
I'm #109 at highscores... I didn't do all that great, did I? *laughs*

I liked that it doesn't have to start the game from the beginning. Love sound and art.
It's crazy for me that that art was made in such a short time! Amazing entry!
This artstyle is unique and very impressive! Well done
Wow the art is just gorgeous and the sound music are fitting as well. Love the little touches like how the screen shakes when you hit a wall (makes it feel like your underwater). Super polished, one of my favorites so far.
very nice
That was sooooo cool ! I did a couple of runs to improve my time, the "ranking" aspect makes the game really replayable ^^. The art is gorgeous ! The level design is maybe the weaker part : blind "pick a path" are never good level design, I would have loved more "timing-based" challenges (having to break to wait for an opening ang going for it). But I'm just being picky, that was a great experience =)
Beautiful game, great sound design, easy to grasp mechanics and controls. Loved it! Well done! Thanks for sharing
I really liked your game :D congrat’
Beautiful! Great job on the whole thing but the art/world building was very impressive for 72 hours.
Beautiful and funny. This game is so well done for a jam game. The visuals are so perfect, even down to the little portraits. It felt like Doc and Marty from Back to the Future were going under the sea! Here is the VOD from my stream of it: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1006566677
The art and dialogue and great, there is an incredible amount of polish for a jam game! The leaderboard and player deaths were also really nice touches, but I feel like the gameplay was too based on the speedrun aspect. I would have liked to have some more varied obstacles and have more challenges to the game even if you are not trying to get the fastest time, but overall, really great job!
Impressive, to make an aquaria/lovers in a dangerous spacetime/gravity ace thing in that short a time. And it only uses one button! Were you eyeing an iPad port from the beginning?
Beautiful game. The best I've seen in 2D graphics in jame. Immersive dialogue and a great competitive element. Great work!
Short and sweet game! I really liked the art design and how you built the characters! They really bounce off each other well and are very funny. The leaderboards and seeing where you died added a bunch of replayability to the game! Very well done!
wow great entry. Art is amazing. 268sec :|
Beautiful graphics, lovely atmosphere and just an awesome experience in general. Super polished!! Great entry!
@midnightmist @bitsandcrafts @polkoii Thanks for playing! Out of curiosity, how did you find our game this late in the jam?
@scott-steffes just scrolling around 👌
Very beautiful game! And very cool too! It is not for nothing that is among the best of this Ludum Dare. I loved the song and I think it gave a very special charm to the mood. Congratulations to the whole team!
P.S. I think this is not a score that I should be proud of, but at least I got to the treasure ... :D This is a Global Ranking?

@scott-steffes Since all of my team members and I went straight into another work after this jam, we have not been able to play or rate any games until now. I wanted to start with the people who commented on our game (MION FOREVER) which just so happened to include you! Glad I did, because this was fun!
That was fun! Pretty big world with great art for a jam :) The 3rd part seemed pretty chill compared to the 2nd!
Cool game, did not get below 90 secs tho, only to 115
