I loved the simple combat system. I'm not sure if I noticed a global event happen.
It is interesting and exciting game.
I really liked the combat system here, it was so fluid and enjoyable (actually wanted to get into combat more just because it was fun). The cat movement was a bit rough for my taste.
I loved the concept, but I agree with others who wanted more of the combat.
I ran 156m then suddenly the game ended and I don't know why :) I had left life and the water was far away. I'm not sure if it's intentional. Took few minutes till I realized the cat can move if I keep pushing the buttons, but at least after that I could advance very fast. Liked the sound, like the monster "fight". I also liked the maze kind of aspect, thinking I'm good and then hitting a closed path...

Let's not talk about the grahics.. although there's something about the side view of this "cat" that brings me joy xD Aside from that I found it to be quite fun! nice effective mechanics, I played it for longer than I thought i would
@mudlee it didn’t happen when I tested it. It may be a bug on the webGL build because it may not run at a good enough frame.

@strong99 some global events has a minor effect because I don’t want event kills play so quick. The killing events with a very obvious effect are rare in general. Thanks for the comment.
@aaron-smith the combat part can be improved if I have more time.

Fun and fast paced, I liked it! The web build didn't work for me both on Chrome and Firefox
@sirdorius I am sorry, but seems like LD side bugged for some reason.
Really fun and cute game! I replayed for many times. Two little points: Color of the tsunami is too similar to the ground's! And the colliders of the cat and enemies are larger than they look, sometimes I thought I can avoid the slime but still went into battle.

Love it! The simple graphics, the fact you're just aa cat running from a bath, the little combat mechanic, the feeling of running out of time, the calm music, it was a really fun cute game to play.

I love the combat system, very clever, combined with time pressure! I could imagine this even combined with some fast music rythm game. The random events are also very clever use of the theme! Music chill, graphics are cute and simple! Nice job, was fun to play it!

Everytime the arrow minigame popped up I loved seeing them bounce around, it looked so nice. Fun game overall
@borgi we couldn't pass through it so it's a trap haha, try another way pls hehe
I ran 731 meters! Fun gameplay and chill soundtrack. The events were fun, and the bouncy arrows in the slime battles were nice. The changing environments were also nice.
@ggross The original character is a box, I forgot to change the collision box after I put the cat in......

That was cute, and pretty fun, although it was really, really easy. ^^() I didn't see the wave at all until I hit the top of the map where there was nowhere left to run. I like the combat system!

Fun! I liked the take of using DDR inputs to defeat enemies while trying to escape the wave that gradually rises towards you!
I feel as though some of the text/sprite is a little bit unclear, like how your fighting HP bar works in the top left corner. Some of the blocks that are not passable are also a little unclear imo. But once I figured it out though, the combat system became really fun as you had to make sure you got all the inputs in time, but also making sure not to mess up. Music (breakbeat was great) fit the gameplay well, along with the SFX too.

A very refreshing gameplay. I loved the combat mechanics. perhaps I lacked some feedback on certain things to understand things like when i lost part of my life or when the game events change. Apart from that, I really liked it. Great job!
Fun game! Wasn't sure how to interact with the blobs at first but then bonking into it worked like a charm. The arrow pattern matching game was well made. The sound effects and particles when arrows are typed are very satisfying. Great work!

The quick time event combat system is a nice touch! The grass really looks like you should be able to run through it, though — pokemon taught me that hahaha The music is jamming and feels like a race, but not really like running away. I kind of like the lighthearted vibe it gives the whole experience, though! :)
It is a cool concept! Combat feels great with those little animations and sound effects. I can clearly see you have put some effort to making sure it feels good!
I will also praise the mood of the music and the selection of sound effects. I do not know which of those are made by your team but the sound effects fit the music and their balance is on point.
Overall, great work!
I like music when I am far from the wave.. calm music and the big change when the wave is near.. It accompanies well and makes me tense when it approaches... the labyrinth trolled me and I lost... I feel frustrated and wanting to overcome this run. the art is nice, especially the movements of the slimes

cool game, i like the dance dance revolution style sequences i had to hit up. A cool little game, well done for entering into ludum dare 51 this year!
Meow! I am a dance dance revolution cat! It was fun to resolve combat that way, and got more intense as time went on. Lots of mini elements that I like individually, rolled into one. Be great to have the DDR stuff sync to music, but I know that'd be a lot to do in a jam!

Short little fun game. I wish it had some random generation or some other stuff to explore except fighting slimes. But very fun game overall!
I really liked it! I think the movement could be smoother since it feels a bit jerky at times. I liked how you fight enemies. I think this is one of the most balanced games I've seen so far, I made it about 220m after finding a route. Good job!

I noticed in the desert biomes that it was easiest to maneuver around the slimes because the pathing was really wide, but I'm not sure if that's by design. It looked like the global events changed more frequently than every 10 sec? The combat system is very unique, btw! catrun.PNG
Super relaxing and fun game. First jam game I played when I got home and was the perfect way to unwind.
@fuzzybut desert biomes is intented, we put a lot of dead end into this map but it is too hard after we test it. We removed most of the dead end the map becomes the easiest map. Grad you like our game !

I enjoyed the simplicity of the gameplay! I died basically immediately the first time but with trial and error it was chill to play and fun!
This is another very unique and addicting game. The slime killing mechanic was definitely oddly satisfying, like some kind of rhythm game without rhythm or something lol. But with slimes sometimes seem like you can just go around them instead of battle.

Very fun and addicting game, sounds make it a lovely experince and I like the idea of fighting with the slimes by pressing arrows! Very solid entry! It kept me so entertained that I walked for 500mslime.PNG
Haha that was fun! Sadly didn't make it until the ice world. I wish the movement was less jerky, but otherwise enjoyed it, especially the little arrow key mini game.

This was super-fun. I almost shat myself when I saw the wave closing in, I was also stuck fighting a red slime at the time so that worsened my situation all while the music ramped up. Good job!!!
I really like the combat system in this. And the event system added some good fun
That was pretty neat! I'm not sure about the jagged movement, I felt for the first few tried I had to keep tapping the direction button. I like the random (?) changes that occur during the 10 second intervals. My biggest gripe was the bushes in the first part blended in to the grassy areas and some time I didn't know why I was stuck on something. Good job!
We like a QTE battles. Our artist said "Please, don't use so much colours in games at the same time" :D Overall, nice work!

Fun little game! As others said: the combat was really on point. The sounds added to the vibe. Tho after the first run I was constantly afraid I was gonna head into a dead end ^^'
Really love the UI and graphics! The game fits the theme of ten seconds very well. Love the combat in the game, hope there are more combat and difficult enemies.
A nice Game. I really like the fight mechanic and that you color coded the arrows. This way it was way easier to distinguish them. Good job on it. Is faster running a global event?
That was a fun game! I never saw the water coming which reduced the sense of urgency but that worked fairly well for me as figuring out where to go was enough to keep me going.
The shifting environment was great too - it's hard to build an involved environment in the time span of a game jam so very very very well done. :D
I like that you removed the dead ends, I don't think they would have worked well since a simple mistake can ruin your entire run. The combat was fun but it seemed like a missed opportunity to give the player a reward for killing slimes. Like killing a green slime could give you a health boost, blue slimes increase your speed, and maybe red slimes are a combination of both. The longer I played the more I tried to avoid combat. Even though the goal is to go as far as possible, I think you should have some mechanic to encourage the player to stop and hunt down slimes so they can engage with the cool combat system and receive some reward that would help them survive longer
Cool entry! original concept and application of the theme, i like it, the graphics are good, the sounds to, the fight mechanic feels nice and funny, maybe the movemente of the player cut be more smooth but is a funny and unique entry, congrats!

Neat game this, the combat mechanics feel really good but cat movement could be a little smoother. It would also be good if there were a simple audio or visual indicator that popped up to indicate the newest event. Great job!
