TorNado by Igor KinGamer 2021-04-27T15:40:30Z
I thought that moving between layers in the tornado was an interesting mechanic! I think the health might be bugged, but overall it was a fun experience!

Really fun little puzzle game. I didn't like how many leaps of faith I needed to take, but the frequent checkpoints made it bearable. Great job!
Really fun and challenging. The graphics are great!
Took me a second to realize how to play it, but once I figured it out I had lots of fun. I felt some real dread once I realized that I couldn't delay the end of the game anymore, so you did a really good job with the theme. I'm not sure if you'd do more with this game, but I'd love to play it some more if you ever update it!
Reminded me of when I was a kid and found random games on my ipod to play, so a lot of nostalgia. Really well done and cohesive!
Survived for 77 seconds! My only major gripe is the fact that you use the mouse to attack, but the attacks don't go in the direction that you are pointing in. Besides that, it was well done!
Tower defense works really well with the theme and you made a really good tower defense game. I liked the graphics music and characters worked really well together.
@dennis-magnusson I do agree that on the first run it's hard to play the game because you don't know what you're doing, but in subsequent ones the player should recognize the next minigame by the building that appears so putting in an extra delay at the start was something that I decided against as to keep the game tense. However, a lot of people are commenting about that specific aspect so it seems like I may have chose the wrong path. I'll try to be more mindful of this in the future. Nonetheless, thanks for the honest review!
Started playing this without reading the description and had some crazy whiplash going from the art to the subject matter. This was such a well done game.
Music really fits the game! I played for longer than I expected to because I kept trying to optimize each run. Good job!
I really like how well it fits the theme, and the graphics that you worked with! On my first run I was softlocked but besides that I enjoyed the game :)

I really loved this one. The art style was consistent, and the gameplay was really simple. The music fit really well also. I feel like there could be some more impact or feedback on each kill. Overall this was simple and really well done!
Really nice art style. I loved how it reminded me of some retro games like balloon fight. The is nice and small, but really fun too. Only thing that would complete this is a little background music. I have to come back to it and try to get all of the balloons, but good job!

Really well done, and one of the most polished games that I've played so far. The physics can be a little wonky at times but that is part of the fun of this experience. I wish that I could see how well I was doing in relation to the quota but I might've been missing something. Good job!
Hey, this entry was really fun. The theme prompted a lot of people to make faster paced games but it is cool that you made a turn based strategy game with your idea. The graphics outside of the UI is on point, and the audio works as well. I just wish there was more challenge or content in this besides learning how to move and shoot the ships. There's a lot of potential in this though, and if you work on it more, I'd love to play it again!
The mood and audio were really well done. My biggest issue was with the loading times between the levels, I'm not sure if it's just on my end but it was hard to fully enjoy this with huge breaks in the middle. The graphics were also really good, ignoring the capsule that snuck in lol. Good job!
I really enjoyed this entry. I don't have much to critique, but I would've liked if there was some kind of counter to tell you how many items were left on each level. Good job!
I didn't realize that the upgrades didn't happen automatically so it took me a bit to get used to. Once I figured out that mechanic, though, the game was pretty fun. I wish that there was some more visual indication or feedback when you got closer to 10 seconds on each upgrade. I also think that the game would've looked better if the background was plain or if it was more pixelated to match everything else. My highest score was 80 seconds!
I really liked this entry, the more challenging games always keep me interested longer. I agree with the sentiment that it might be too unforgiving though. I like that the art style is consistent and I also liked the variety in the enemies and fruit. Good job!
I really like the aesthetic of the game, and I also enjoy tower defense games a lot. It seems like some of the costs for the upgrades are in correct or maybe I'm just understanding them wrong. I wish that the game restarted itself after you die also. Overall I had fun playing it, good job
I really did not think I would be able to beat this one and yet... Screenshot 2022-10-02 234540.png
You handled the mood and audio really well. The graphics were the only part of the game that felt under developed, but I feel like the other things that you did made up for it. There are a couple issues that you could fix with both the WebGL and windows version. The game is really hard to play if you don't lock the cursor in your code. Besides those few issues, I genuinely had fun playing this, and it was a great way to start Spooky Season. Welcome back to the world of game jams!
I got every upgrade, but I was a little disappointed when I didn't see any ending for the game. Nevertheless, it was really fun to play and I loved the art style!
(Same feedback from twitter, but I also wanted to leave it here) I wish this was a compo entry so I could see how you handled the dice. The mood was really consistent and fun. I love how simple this was. I played it like 4 times and couldn't get past 7 yet. I really like how you handled the lighting in the 2D environment. The only thing really lacking is the quality of the 3D scene, but that is only because of how hard you went in the 2D scene. There weren't any major bugs or issues I had with the game. Overall, this was a really solid entry!Capture.PNG
@xorel Yeah, I don't know. I was trying to reference some really obscure indie game that no one has heard of. /j
I'm happy that you thought some of it was funny, it was different for me to try to focus on some humor in a jam like this.
@rickylee I'm happy that you enjoyed the humor!
You're really close to figuring out the good ending, maybe just try TOSSING OUT ideas and you'll eventually figure something out...
@rickylee Thanks for trying it out! A lot of people that understood the reference probably figured it out from that alone, but I could have definitely dome more in game to give you a hint for what to do at the end. There are three total endings and even if you don’t get the “real” one, I’m happy that you were compelled enough to give it a try. Great feedback, I have some things to keep in mind for the next jam I participate in.
@shadowbrain this is really dope! There’s three endings, but a few people have said that they had trouble finding the real one. Thanks for checking it out.
@lustdante Sorry, about the camera movement. It was a last minute addition and I thought it improved the feel of the game. Thanks for the feedback! In the future, I'll try to let the bob be toggleable.
The style and atmosphere in this is insane. I wish the audio was balanced or paced a little bit better, but that doesn't take away from how well done this is. Really short and simple, and overall a great experience. Good job!
The graphics and audio were done masterfully. This is a really cohesive and polished game and I'm super impressed with what you were able to do. I really enjoyed the gameplay as well.
Pretty good entry. The graphics could use some polish, but in spite of that I had fun trying to survive for 5 minutes. I personally wish I had a little more agency over what the character did when in the red form, but otherwise the gameplay worked well!
This was the first game that I played during this jam! I was pleasantly surprised at how such a simple game turned out to be so much fun. You really hit a sweet spot with the variety. I feel like one or two more microgames would've kept me playing longer, but besides that I don't have many other complaints. Great job, really well rounded entry.

This game made me want to pull out my hair. Good job! Graphics are simple and the audio is also consistent and fits the game. This was also a really interesting take on the theme. Nice work!
This is a really good idea, and the graphics are polished as well. My biggest issue with it is that the controls aren't very intuitive and it's hard to figure out how to play the game. The puzzles were fun and it was hectic, but at a certain point it became too much work for me to want to keep playing it.
If there was a way to automatically move the boxes at some point, I feel like this would've been a lot more fun. Overall this is a really good idea and it's impressive how much you were able to get done.
It took me a while to figure out how to actually play the game, but once I did, it was all pretty straightforward. It's a little frustrating that the arrowsgo away when you clicked off of the map, or if a plane isn't in the radius when you let go. Overall, it was a fun experience and I enjoyed it.
Hey, nice game! the graphics are pretty well done and I enjoyed the humor. Some of the interacting felt a little unresponsive and could use some polishing. Getting rid of those capsules for a final jam entry would also really help it feel finished. Great work!
The graphics, and music really work well for this game! I was pleasantly surprised when I beat the first level and there was still more to do! I would've liked a little more variety in the game play, like different weapons or enemies. Well done!
The ending came a lot quicker than I expected. Interesting use of the theme here, I'd be surprised if I saw other entries with a similar mechanic. It would've been fun if the traps reset you to the start when you touch them (maybe in a hard mode). Overall this was a good entry, and I'm excited to see what else you can do in the future!
I really liked how the game controlled. The sound design was also very good!
I think you should add a link to this page on your itch.io page by the way. It took me a while to find this submission because it wasn't linked anywhere.
@dingbat Thanks for the feedback! Yeah honestly I was a bit too ambitious on the mechanics and ran out of time to provide visual clarity.
@j4cko16 Thanks for the compliments! I realized it was a problem as well but I couldn’t allocate enough time to fix some of the game feel problems.
@av-shustov I definitely spent the most time doing art for this event lol. I’m happy you enjoyed it!
It took me a while to figure out how the puzzle works but this was really fun! I wish there was a little more feedback on what I'm doing right or wrong but it feels rewarding when you pick the right options. Good job!
Really solid experience. I feel like there are some pretty hard turns but overall this was made very well!
