I thought that moving between layers in the tornado was an interesting mechanic! I think the health might be bugged, but overall it was a fun experience!

Nice jam :)

I thought it was pretty fun, I played until what I assumed was the end, when the right progress bar filled up. I liked that there was a progression in the number and size of objects as you moved down. One piece of criticism I have is I think the game could be harder. I know you said losing is not implemented anyway, but in my opinion this game is similar to an infinite-runner type game (although I guess it's not supposed to be infinite?) which I think get a lot of their fun from wanting to beat your previous run. The core gameplay I thought felt good, well done

the game didnt run for me on itch :< maybe include a downloadable build?

metalfox-dioxymore 2021-04-29 12:39

Decent game, for using your tools for the second time in an event =). And being able to go from the "background" to the "foreground" of the tornado is a really smart idea !

Thanks everyone for the feedback!

@miej Oh... Could you tell me what browser you used?

Anyway, there's a downloadable build now. Last LD people weren't able to run it, it needs Java, but please tell me if it works!

@igor-kingamer latest chrome. i'll try the downloadable

arguablyarugula 2021-04-30 22:45

I liked this. I think it would benefit from fading the background object a bit more just to make it clearer what can/can't hit the player.

Also, nice job making your own kotlin engine! That's huge!

The mecahnic is pretty neat! It took me some time to understand that it had a back and a front, but once it kicked I was like "OOOOOOOOOOOOOHhhhhhhhh I get it" ' I would love some win/loose conditions but u already knew about it - Overal pretty good game.

Interesting idea!

rob-parker 2021-05-09 18:22

Interesting game idea. I found it difficult feedback wise sometimes to tell i was moving down other than the bar at the top moving. Maybe a cosntantly scrolling background or something would of helped. Either way good job!

robotex 2021-05-11 06:27

Interesting idea but I don't understand what should I do for win.

igor-kingamer 2021-05-11 21:10

@robotex Thanks for playing! You just have to go down until the bar on the top right gets filled up, but winning is not implemented yet.

Ha, neat! I've never flown around in a tornado before. I like the cool depth effect. Maybe the character sprite could be mirrored in one of the layers? It seems like some stuff spawns on-screen, when it might be better for it to all spawn below the screen. Thanks for the cool experience

Kinda neat, i Liked how objects far away from me were kinda transparent, created nice depth of view effect

digitaldude555 2021-05-16 12:55

Sad it doesnt have ending, also could use some sound, I like the game mechanic of being in the background or foreground.

youk 2021-05-16 13:01

Interesting game! I find that space key is very important and the fact that there are actually two spaces(front and back) bring a lot of changes to the game.

luthwyhn 2021-05-16 13:05

I really liked the foreground/background mechanic. The first time I went off the edge I was very confused about why I was small, but once I understood what was going on it was super neat.
