cute, little and spider never go together. ever fun game tho!
Great looking game, good animations, sfx and cute spider. I didn't notice "current" text so made a lot of mistakes at the beginning. I was good at making spoon and fork but I didn't want to learn 4 tap ones.
@chuckiee Forks and spoons are not such a bad strategy for "easy" ending. Just upgrade gold income and "Steady Hands" for level 2 and u can just spam single button forever. But you don't know that from me! :smiling_imp:
Great style, look polish! Cute stuff and fun game, i really enjoyed it.
Really wanted to give this game a go. But for some reason I cant find the actual game in the folder downloaded.. any clues? maybe I'm being completely ignorant and its a tipe of file that I don't recognise/don't have the software for
@LauraHur For some reason link to itch.io dissappeared. Gonna try to fix it soon.
I searched it and found it on itch.. totally worth it!!! Honestly one of the best entries I've played this far.. My hand is on fire now, i stayed there until i got the hammer. Thanks for the fun!!! top marks across the board and a round of applause goes your way
The graphics are very impressive, and I can feel the breath of a skilled professional. It was very difficult for someone like me with a bad memory, but it was very fun, nonetheless.
Yea, this is total my aesthetic of game. Loved the art and sound. Wanted a little more humour, but gameplay was decent enough. It was kinda like a rhythm game without the rhythm.
Great work :8ball:
@oddballdave Well, in terms of humour, the funny little thing is... the whole game is an adaptation of a veeeeery poor/dad joke type. And as I'm a fan of the poor joke, I couldn't let it go. And the punch line, or ending, is meant to be what it is because of the many repetitive scenes of the spider asking for the cute little hammer.
Thanks and take care!
I liked the kawaii spider. Great mood cohesion and great art. Took me a few tries to understand how to play. Great job finishing the jam.
That ending was fantastic! Reminds me of a cool joke. The game is hard, but still fun and juicy, you are not forced to remember exactly all recipes, and that's cool. Nice game overall!
A solid complete work here! When I started, I admittedly didn't understand at first that I was going to need to memorize the arrow order, but after I got that down, things went well. Though sometimes I felt like when it would switch to "?", the animation made me feel like I entered something incorrectly. Overall, very well done and a solid entry!
@davidbradbury This is this part from features:
**debatable decisions in game design**
I thought that animation and carpenter saying that he keeps forgetting recipes like every 10 seconds... There is also a shuffle sound for that. But you never know!
Valuable suggestion for future jams to make sure that everything is obvious.
haha that ending reminded me of the duck song "then he waddled away" haha ^^ very cute, and the game is solid. Great work! :)
I GOT THE CUTE LITTLE HAMMER!!! OK I spent way longer playing this than I intended. Neat idea and application of the theme. I kind of expected the recipe to change every 10 seconds, but that would have increased the difficulty by a lot (not sure if that's a good or bad thing for a game jam, honestly.) I'm a fan of memorization games though and enjoy the challenge of going as fast as possible. Art is super adorable. Thanks for a fun entry.
I love the art! So very pretty. Everything feels super polished. Gameplay is very engaging and I'm a sucker for both key inputs and upgrades :D Immediately thought of the duck song as soon as I got to the end ahahah. Really really well made entry and I'm sure you'll do very well with ratings!
Great art! I can tell a lot of effort went into it!
It's fun, but my fingers are very tired now
The graphics are so amazing ! Congratulations !
Really great looking game and the audio was really cute. Love the amount of UI polish. It was easy to get a hang of the game too and it was pretty satisfying speeding it up a bit once I knew what was going on. Nice work!
Loved the graphics and concept. It was fun enough that a got all the upgrades and played to the end. Great job!
Great visuals and vibe! The mechanics were really crisp, and I enjoyed the memory aspect of it. I love upgrading games so this was perfect. My one feedback would be the recipes ahead list seemed like it wasn't moving because it didn't slide across, the sprites just swapped instantly, so if there was two spoons in a row, they dont look like they move, if that makes sense? Anyway, great submission!!
I liked it! I enjoyed playing it from start to finish. Felt a bit cheesy in the later stages, keeping tab open while spamming the right keys, since you can still see enough of the objects while it's open and it doesn't interrupt your key inputs.
Wow I had to double check this wasn't a jam game. The visuals and audio are so high quality for compo.
fun!! i love it!!!
You must have bought the upgrades in RL because its insane how great this game was for 48 hours. The graphics, the sounds, the mechanics. All so smooth. I had a lot of fun.
Love the graphics and the pressing feedback is very satisfying
Thanks everyone for feedback!
Unfortunately, I don't have time to answer everyone.
@osh-studio About items swapping instantly, it is a problem with Unity layouts. By default there is no option to do smooth movement between cells out of the box. I know how to add nice animation there, but unfortunately, I had no time to develop it and test it during this compo. :worried:
@frib It is not a bug, it is feature! Jk, it is obviously not intended, but I won't remove it. Such bugs add charm and show that actually the whole thing was done in a really short time
@matt-green I have trouble sleeping and drank a lot of energizers
Thanks again everyone, take care guys!
Stunning visuals LOVED IT! pretty nice animation, sound and game feel! Impressive for a COMPO entry!! Looks very pro!!
Fun art and game!
This was really well made and I love the art! The sound the two cute characters make was a little clunky but I'm stretching to find suggestions. Awesome work, this was a fantastic entry!
I love it! It's really polished and really fun! The feedback for every keystroke is so on point that it's very addictive. Not to mention the excellent graphics. Fantastic job!
Very good, you got me hooked.
I got every upgrade, but I was a little disappointed when I didn't see any ending for the game. Nevertheless, it was really fun to play and I loved the art style!
Oh my god this game was so good. I enjoyed it so much!
Wow, great entry! Graphics fit nice, audio is sweet, game idea is amazing, it all works well together, no bugs - really good job!
A pretty addicting game once you get the hang of it. Great job at your cute looking art. That is already on a super high level of drawing! Just a personal thing, that I don't like to read a lot and just want to get in the game. :) But that is not your fault. I enjoyed it a lot! Thanks for your work.
good game idea ! art is great, fun to play ! (just on note : i took me a bit too long to see the "curent" text, before i was only pressing arroys without knowing it was the recipe of specific tools)
@roroto-sic You are right, it should be MUCH MORE visible. But it is compo, rules are strict so we need to live with my bad decisions.
This is absolutely amazing! The art is wonderful, the mechanics are easy to learn, really hard to master, especially with the bigger recipes. Really well done!
nice art and that ending.. :) Only thing distracting was the item row change animation. It was little bit too jarring but you have commented about that already.
**Beautiful** art!
Fantastic use of theme. Really had fun memorizing the different recipes. Loved the cute art style. Sound effects and music were on point. I wish the sliding animation for the next wood piece I needed to make gave more visual feedback. My eye kept getting distracted by the one added at the end but I didn't need to pay attention to that one yet. It's really a nitpick because everything else is so well polished. This game was very addicting and fun. Amazing job.
asda.JPG such a hard game!but I like it!!!(rate back plz!)
Loved it! It was really fun to master the patterns! And amazing graphical style. Got the hammer
Beautiful art style !!!!
Bro this is an inovative, creative, and so fun to play game! chek out my game jam
Yay, your game features a spider too! :spider: :spider_web:
The art-style is consistent and the animations give a very nice feel of feedback to the controls.
I think I might be getting old myself because I had hard time memorizing even the shorter sequences...
But at least I acquired the weakest(?) hammer! :hammer:
Ha ha .. nice .. At first I just picked some random arrows and I found it quite funny. But after 2 minutes my score was still 0 and I took a little time to do it 'right'. I don't like reading a lot of text so my suggestion would be to make the arrow keys stand out and let the player do that. Ok it might not be that challenging, but it would me it easier to play. Also mixing input devices (mouse/keyboard) isn't very good for the experience. I do like the graphics and mood very much. Job well done!
Hey, thanks for making the game! I played through it and recorded my thoughts.
