I don't get the reference.
For real though I laughed at the loop, and a very very good premise for the theme.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD51 → Yo, Listen!

Hmmm, I wonder what game this might be referencing...
I really like the humor in this game and how the dude just won't shut up Lol. The graphics are really cool and the sound effects are neat. I like how there seems to be different endings, but it does feel weird having a score card at the end because the game is a bit tedious to replay. But overall, a really cool game :)
@xorel Yeah, I don't know. I was trying to reference some really obscure indie game that no one has heard of. /j
I'm happy that you thought some of it was funny, it was different for me to try to focus on some humor in a jam like this.
I actually laughed out loud at what happened after breaking the barrel. Humor is dark, but fun! Really love the low poly low res aesthetics. You took a concept and executed on it very precisely in 48 hrs! Genuinely enjoyed playing the first few times, but would love an option to skip through the starting rant, since that does get quite tedious to playthrough. What's also great is it seemed like you had a lot of fun making this too!
Very funny and unique ^^ I really liked it. I'm too dumb to figure out how to win though, I got the sword and destroyed the window, used the poison(?) on the annoying guy but he still kills me after 10 seconds, I tried killing the guy then leaving but I just couldn't work it out.. I need a hint :')
@rickylee I'm happy that you enjoyed the humor!
You're really close to figuring out the good ending, maybe just try TOSSING OUT ideas and you'll eventually figure something out...
Well now I feel double dumb ToT I threw all these things out the window and I still can't work it out.. :') your game deserves better players than me..

@rickylee Thanks for trying it out! A lot of people that understood the reference probably figured it out from that alone, but I could have definitely dome more in game to give you a hint for what to do at the end. There are three total endings and even if you don’t get the “real” one, I’m happy that you were compelled enough to give it a try. Great feedback, I have some things to keep in mind for the next jam I participate in.
5/5, the graphics and sound design are my favorite parts - a very good job and entry! Also I felt like a kid again, like when parents used to yell at You :D
Really nice job, I'm always amazed at how much people doing the Compo can get done on their own. Very funny premise and a neat tribute to some of my favourite games.
Made a VR conversion of this one- was neat! I honestly have no idea how to complete the game yet but I just really wanted to get it working in VR :stuck_out_tongue:
Thanks for posting the source repo!

@shadowbrain this is really dope! There’s three endings, but a few people have said that they had trouble finding the real one. Thanks for checking it out.
Like others, I've had difficulty finding the endings. I got the sword and broke the window, but not sure what to do next. Having the fairy hint at more endings after a while might be helpful. I did enjoy the game though, the fairy is funny and I enjoyed the puzzle solving. Well done!
I had to stop. This dude inspired such a profound feeling of hatred within me. I got the key and sword. Than found a jar of something? I'll have nightmares about this. Extremely high marks for mood. :D
This game is really really polished and looks amazing! Unfortunately, the camera movement made me sick and didn't allow me to enjoy this work of art for long :(
@lustdante Sorry, about the camera movement. It was a last minute addition and I thought it improved the feel of the game. Thanks for the feedback! In the future, I'll try to let the bob be toggleable.
An interesting concept with lots of character added, and I like the style of the graphics and the audio. I had fun with it, good job :)
I love the horrible Navi mutant. The graphics are great, as is the humour. I played for a bit but the 10 second loops were a bit short for me to ever really get into the groove, got a bit too stressful to be able to try everything out and think about the puzzle. I got the sword at least  great entry!
I had a fun time playing. Very funny and love the graphics!
Super unique and funny. I had trouble figuring out what to do after I got the sword - ugh. I tried to attack that "house guest" but that didn't do anything  But I like the premise, and if I had a bit more time I would grind it out and keep trying to figure it out. It's a neat puzzle and a great execution of the theme! Nice job!
This was really good! The humor was a stand-out, but the graphics and sound were also strong, and it had nice tight fast controls which were VITAL for such a repetitive game.
I didn't mind going around the loop over and over, and was having fun exploring the mystery. Until it got to be a while and I started dragging. I got the sword and broke the window. But I didn't get past that. I was committed to figuring it out, but two things caused me enough friction that eventually I lost heart and gave up:
- The guy sets me ALL THE WAY back and I have to restart from "get cheese and draw mouse out" and do it all over again. And again. And again. Sometimes it was fine, but other times I would feel like I was just about to test a theory with my next life, but NOPE back to the start. Eventually this wore me down.
- The controls are fast and tight. Except for one aspect: They are really stingy about whether I did or did not pick an item up and don't have any instant indication of whether I did or did not. I don't think it's important to the gameplay that I have to be pixel-perfect with my mouse aim when picking up the sword. I would prefer if you granted me leeway, and when I click the button, see what the closest object is within some distance and grant me some slop to my input by understanding my intention rather than requiring precision. This was NOT a problem at first, but given the repetitive loop + the tight time limit, I needed to be able to move as fast as possible and wanted to feel smooth, and "nah actually you didn't grab that item" kept kicking me in the teeth exactly when I was already feeling low.
Hrm I worded those strongly but actually they were really minor and I only point them out because this was such an overall excellent game!
I sunk a lot of time in and had a bunch of fun.
Really nice job with a super-well-rounded comp entry here, very impressive!
