Realy cool game ! congrats and thank ! the icon from stable diffusion are cool, but it's too different from the simplistic map :)

akuirako 2023-05-02 12:16

Very very cool and easy to play, although there's quite a lot to read and remember :)

batisdark 2023-05-02 15:36

@farfadet46 thank you so much for playing! Yes, we kind of new to all jam scenario and always seem to be late for things we are planning to achieve! Guess comes with experience! Map was basically 5-mins fix that worked, but wasn't what we were going for initially :(

batisdark 2023-05-02 15:38

@akuirako Thank you for playing! I was worried it will be complicated to play. We took new engine and had issues with UI, so had to 'patch' fast tutorial at the end just to have at least something to help with undestanding how it works! Would love to do actual tutorial with 'tasks', but experience is lacking and we run out of time :<

linkway 2023-05-02 20:51

Unique idea. Nice game, nice job.

beebster-games 2023-05-02 20:54

It is a very well programmed game. Very involved.

donhadryel 2023-05-02 21:54

Very cool ! I was terrible and still there is no defeat condition I took SOOOOO long to finish it, but I loved it

le-goss-du-net 2023-05-02 22:05

As a Godot Developper,i can say that it's AWESOME,the idea is super and it fell so cool to play,Good Job !

batisdark 2023-05-03 00:06

@donhadryel oh wow! Glad you liked it though! :D

donamougou 2023-05-03 02:09

I like the idea of an Ogame-Like simulation, well fitted with the theme of the jam ! Difficult to know if I'm doing the good thing when exporting ressources. Nice entry ! Maybe the music loop is a bit short for a game that needs a lot of time to complete

braveskin 2023-05-03 02:17

This was very cool! The progression works very well and I had a good time directing the resource deliveries. Nice entry!

apoly 2023-05-03 02:19

Yeah, we've recorded music in the last couple of hours before the deadline and failed to make it longer, as my skills with my synth are quite rusty.

midblue 2023-05-03 04:02

Ooh, cool! I love management games. I had a little trouble figuring out the to/from system — am I taking the resources FROM Earth to send TO the moon? I also had to guess what each resource's icon meant to correspond to in the text dropdowns. Once I got the hang of it, though, I was off to the races! I really enjoyed watching the ships trying to swerve to land on the fast-moving planet.

zxeno 2023-05-03 04:43

This was pretty solid overall. I respect the fight with UI, as it's always been a fight for me as well. The exection here was good, and the game kept me engaged for a good while. It's slow to start and the ships are pretty slow until you get the freighters, but I really like the idea. The generated icons, while looking really good and reminding me of something from the late-90s C&C era, stood out and felt inconsistent with the rest of the style. Great entry!

velvetlobster 2023-05-03 05:12

I am having a great time playing this, I love the minimal sci-fi vibe it has

the fact that it does not show much is very interesting, makes it feel more realistic somehow

I think you could show the name of the icon when you hover them, it took me a while of experimentation to learn what was what ... or maybe I missed something

its been 14 years and I still do not fully grasp what produces the elements on earth

I built some stuff on mars but I cannot find where it shows something is being produced there ... mars producs silicon but the silicon number does not go up unless I set an earth rocket to take silicon there, which seems to be magically produced on earth

ok it would be great to have a speed up time, I am almost creating my first colony

ok my first colony took almost 48 years, got really distracted moving things around in the planets

it is a beautiful thing when you get to make the rocket dance work

apoly 2023-05-03 13:04

@midblue in FROM/TO you setup which resource to LOAD at that base. So if you have a route **FROM: Earth, Metals; TO: Moon, Nothing**, then your ship loads metals on Earth and transports it to the Moon, not getting anything back from the Moon to the Earth.

We definitely need to communicate that better, thanks for feedback!

apoly 2023-05-03 13:07

@zxeno thanks for the feedback! Yeah, we ran out of time by the end of the Jam to make it consistent. We will probably expand this game after voting ends and make it way more consistent.

apoly 2023-05-03 13:09

@velvetlobster I see that you've decided to go with the slowest and least efficient rocket there, having so much old-school Earth rockets going to Ceres is just mind-blowing! Thanks for feedback, we definitely need to make it more clear where you can produce what and communicate how to build it in a more user-friendly way.

savidiy 2023-05-03 21:23

A difficult game. It would be clearer to me if, when choosing resources, there would be pictures the same as in the requirements.

apoly 2023-05-03 22:22

@savidiy yeah, we were trying to finish up our UI, but eventually ran out of time and icons in drop downs didn't make it into the game. We'll add them after voting ends to abide the rules, as it's an easy fix, but it's a "new feature" from our perspective.

zgragselus 2023-05-03 23:55

Took me 24 years 291 days. Finished.

I could probably do it faster, but I was just eating dinner - so no rush. The game mechanics is nice, once the lines are setup it works properly. The UI was understandable, although I was a bit confused with FROM/TO and the row under it (it's what's loaded at given station). Sort of space transport tycoon.

One improvement I can think of - the rockets are going in straight ways, that's inefficient (and if properly simulated, MUCH slower). Using orbital mechanics and Hohmann transforms would be a great improvement.

Either way - it was nice and chilling to play.

Keep up the good work.

batisdark 2023-05-04 00:04

@zgragselus yep, from/to needs some work... and completely agree about orbital mechanics! Plan was to have normal solar system implemented AND orbital mechanics for rockets, but we got stuck with UI battle for way too long and had to improvise with what little time we got left :<

Great speed, by the way!

zgragselus 2023-05-04 00:09

@batisdark I absolutely understand the cutting corners and time frame! The original plan always ends up great, the thing is - how much one can cut it down to be good enough. The UI here was a heavy one (+ balancing) - takes a lot to do those right.

Reminded me of a space transport tycoon concept we once had as a plan - but scrubbed it for simple Mini-metro style (with airplanes) around 3D planet instead at the time.

apoly 2023-05-04 00:23

@zgragselus Yep, as @batisdark says we were planning proper orbital mechanics, but it was cut in the end. We think that we can update this game after voting to include more stuff, as we liked how it plays and see a potential in this concept. And orbital mechanics would add quite a bit of depth with restrictions on weight your rockets can deliver based on delta V, as well as some interesting mechanics like cyclers, bases at Lagrange points, more efficient transportation in asteroid belt as not much delta V is needed etc.

sean-atterbury 2023-05-04 00:48

Very cool game! The management aspect from sending materials to and from made this game very unique.

Good job!

hololight17 2023-05-04 13:32

Not finished this game, but very interested in it. Like this type of games!

drestin 2023-05-04 15:25

Took 27 years to finish. It was fun to route the resources around. This was not so hard since there were only one place of production for each. But that was enough for a jam.

It works nicely. It scratches the organisation itch :p

ranzor 2023-05-04 18:58

Love this game. This is one i'll probably come back and play more after the rating period ends :)

batisdark 2023-05-04 19:09

@ranzor we are planning several improvements after rating will end, hope we will do it fast enough so you will catch them :]

ranzor 2023-05-04 19:17

@batisdark Exciting, I'll check back a couple of times to check up on the improvements ;)

svenerik 2023-05-05 05:14

Woah awesome project~ Right up to my alley, I loved the management side of the game, fun & jolly. The aesthetics were pleasant enough too, though could be polished up at places, but still really good for the ludum time-frame. Great job overall! :)

skleembof 2023-05-06 00:32

I like the overall idea of a resource management/colony builder with simulated physics in 2d. It'll be a lot cooler when you implement the orbital mechanics.

frozenfire92 2023-05-06 13:43

Pretty solid jam entry! I found the pacing to be pretty slow (which is good for games in this genre, but not the best for jams). It wasn't always clear what all the icons were, I wish when hovering over them it indicated what it was (but again struggling with a new engine/UI system, totally understandable  ) Keep on making games!

prismapunch 2023-05-07 07:44

This is a game I can see evolving into a full released game. I liked the concept of juggling all these resources between the different planets. My only complaints are mainly QOL stuff, like being able to group stuff, share orders, and have the resource selection be icons instead of their strings. Also the ability to scrap ships!

Very solid entry and I would love to see this idea more fleshed out.

OpenTTD in space!

fernofai 2023-05-07 19:18

Ressource Management can be so much fun if it's balanced out well! I think you did a great job on placing the different and with giving them certain requirements to keep running. The continuously rising numbers really helped with keeping my motivation up - maybe some more satisfying sounds would've helped.

I thought first, that building all that stuff wouldn't be necessary since earth already has all ressources, but spreading to the other planets made everything so much faster and I didn't even you Silicium and Gold.

I could've used some quality of life features such as ordering your rockets or zooming the map, but that's probably not in scope for a 72h jam. Art Style could've been more consistent.

All in all I enjoyed this entry very much. Good job!

sibi 2023-05-14 15:52

Really awesome style and a great calm atmosphere! Unfortunately I think I ran into some bugs or didn't properly understand a mechanic. My factories on other planets never seemed to produce anything. I had everything on Ceres built but it was not producing any metal. Also my first moon rocket just cost me resources but didn't actually show up in my ships list. Didn't finish the game because of this as earth just doesn't produce enough and I didn't want to wait around for hours :D

batisdark 2023-05-14 22:37

@sibi thanks for playing :) you need to provide resourses for factories to work - if you mouseover any building it should say which ones you need in there to start production. For example for each 1 food and water on Ceres you would produce 5 metal if that is the only building active in there. More buildings you build on mars - more resourses they need (unfortunately priority consumption didn't make it in LD build), but with food and water producing being super fast on Mars - shouldn't be an issue in general.

digital-bacon 2023-05-15 12:08

I spent a lot longer playing this game than I originally thought I would, but ended up building two colonies in 45 years. Interesting idea, and strangely addictive gameplay. Some form of time-advance controls would have been good.

Excellent work!

jimbly 2023-05-15 22:02

Screenshot 2023-05-15 145654.png

Woo! That was really fun! Really felt like a lot of gameplay and depth, and everything felt pretty balanced. I figured out everything pretty quickly, only thing I kept getting a bit confused by was the cost to build rockets, since they only showed up in the tooltips, I had to keep looking. I would have liked those (and the factory in/outs) to be more accessible, maybe just replacing the cost to build the factory after it's done (though, then I'd complain it was hard to see which factories I hadn't built ^\_^)). Only other thing I wanted was a way to see where a specific ship was (so I knew if it was just finishing up a delivery, and I can repurpose it, or if it was just starting, etc), maybe just highlighting when mouse overing the ship list. This caused me to, perhaps, make more ships than I needed, but maybe that made for a more chill experience in the end =).

Music wasn't much special, but didn't get annoying, which is pretty good, considering how long I spent tinkering in here =).

I like that there is no failure condition, and I could just keep working on building the colonies.

interpixel 2023-05-18 12:07

good overall framework, reminds me of stellaris, could do with a speed modifier so you can go faster and slower at times otherwise very chill and enjoyable

mountaininn 2023-05-19 06:24

I like games where numbers go up and this one is very good such game.

The only issue i have is rocket list, because every time i want to change my imports/exports i need to read information about every single rocket. Would be better to represent routes more graphic like in a table or a spreadsheet. Something like that:

| From | Export | Rockets | Import | To | | ------- | --------- | ---------- | ------- | ------ | | Ceres | | | | Mars | | | Gas | Rocket 1 | Water | | | | | Rocket 2 | | | | | | | | | | | Silicon | Rocket 3 | Food | |

Rockets 1 and 2 hauling gas from Ceres to Mars and come back with water. Rocket 3 hauling silicon from Ceres to Mars and come back with food.
