LD54 — Limited Space

Mr.AdBar by eddynardo 2023-10-04T08:55:51Z

This game blew my mind..

The moment the narrator hints that your character couldn't fit on the screen and you notice the game is actually in the URL bar was actually a bit magical. Subverting expectations in the best way possible.

Writing was top notch. Sometimes I felt like he was reading my mind!

Super clever and interesting concept presented perfectly!

Spent WAY too much time playing this game...

And I regret nothing! Denpo is adorbo!

Introvertigo by Scott Steffes 2023-10-04T13:51:11Z

Bathroom stall guy needs to be put in prison and Grandpa is bae. I needn't say anymore...

But I will anyways.

The art style is top notch. I love the pastel watercolor vibe. The concept itself is also really clever, using AI as the game mechanic. Music was both calm and relaxing but also a bit unsettling. It has a Megami Tensei vibe to it which I really dig.

Overall great job you guys!

No really.. Bathroom stall guy doesn't belong in society.

Multiplosphere by Ausstein 2023-10-04T08:53:46Z

Had to play this one again after stream and was able to get further. This game is chaotic! I enjoyed the aesthetics and the music was really nice and fitting. Like mentioned before the mouse was super sensitive but it wasn't too bad.

Overall solid entry. Great job!

Rafty Crab by kuviman 2023-10-04T08:42:13Z

Poor crabs. The entire world is out to get them.

The graphics were super charming and the fact they are all just textures makes them even better!

I had a great time playing this on stream with everyone! Very impressive being a custom rust engine.

A Living Place in Limited Space by YellowKamel 2023-10-03T05:14:34Z

I really enjoyed the quirky concept behind this game. The stacking mechanic felt satisfying and I it requires some strategy in order to maximize building footprint to go higher. If you were to expand on the idea I would like to see a slightly wider play space and some new uniquely shaped building pieces. It could also make for a nice cozy "sim-city-lite" building game with a free-build mode.

Great job!

Neptune's Wake by feor 2023-10-04T08:45:51Z

This was a very solid risk style game. I took some time after the stream to play again and recollect my thoughts and was able to do much better this time. I wish the camera would re-center on some part of your own territory at the beginning of your turn. Other than that this is very enjoyable all around. Nice, chill and charming game!

Safe Space Passage by Kepsert 2023-10-03T05:24:00Z

The Box is such a unique and innovative mechanic. The platforming was really great and pretty tricky at times. Once I got a grasp of the controls I was jump-rotating all over the place and it felt good!

This idea deserves to be expanded on. A ton of mechanics you can apply to The Box. Great job!

Ghost peppers from someplace by Neeko69 2023-10-05T10:05:43Z

I really enjoyed checking this out on stream and just finished another little session with this game.

I really enjoyed the main scrubbing mechanic! It sometimes felt like it wasn't responsive enough but only slightly and occasionally. The aesthetics were cute and endearing and the color choice was really nice. I think the moving walls were a nice idea to prevent the player from just standing still. I do wish the high score screen would have either lasted a few seconds longer or maybe waited for player input to restart just so I could have had enough time to screenshot my highscore, which was 62! Very challenging but fun!

I did encounter a bug where the game would not restart after death but it only happened once and I can't reproduce it so not a huge deal. For your first Godot game this was very solid! Great work!

Musk Vs Zuck for the GameJoy ( PLAY ON ITCH.IO LINK ) by Joymagine 2023-10-04T08:59:01Z

This was fantastic! I really felt like I was punching Zuckerberg in the face. And I must say... it was satisfying! It's a lot of fun to nail the rythm and KO without getting hit.

Very solid entry, great job!

Get The Pumpkin! by yndajas 2023-10-05T03:57:38Z

Pumkpin acquired! I repeat! Pumpkin HAS been acquired! Mission success.

I had a great time checking this out on stream and finally came back to beat my highscore. The whole process of learning the level, planning out your jumps and then executing on them was really a lot of fun.

The aesthetics and sound effects add a lot of charm and overall this was a really pleasant and addictive platformer game. Great work!

(Figured I'd respond to everyone so far in one post instead of spamming replies. =P)

@vadzim Thanks! I am leaning towards expanding on the game. Are there any mechanics in particular you'd like to see? I'm not typically a platformer player, so any suggestions are welcome!

@hermetix I'm sorry about the weirdness with the arrow keys. First html5 game I've uploaded anywhere in a long time so I'll put more effort into UX next time. I was also not aware of the iframe size restrictions and so I designed the game with a higher resolution and had to downscale at last minute. I'm not happy with the size and agree it's a bit too small and hard to read as is. Thanks for the feedback! =D

@matheuscunegato Thanks for playing! TBH it's a bit too hardcore for even myself but I'm happy you enjoyed it!

@technonugget WHOA! I haven't even completed the game 100% yet.. World first! =D But yeah, I really enjoy just pushing some pixels around and javascript/canvas makes it so simple. And thanks for the fullscreen/scrolling work around. I'm going to try and improve UX in future entries. But thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

@kepsert Yo, thanks for playing it! I definitely think I could have done better at signposting the different mechanics to the player. With 4x4 pixels I found it difficult to make certain objects distinguishable but I think I can definitely make some improvements in that area. I'm going to take your suggestions and see if I can add them. Thanks for the feedback! =D

@winie Thanks! =P
