don't tell milkman but i put a secret easter egg in the windows version

very cool and epic game, feels very punchy

I can't even begin to tell you how much I love this, favorite submission for sure. It's so adrenaline driven, punchy and simply awesome. The visual style is very interesting, gameplay fun and clever, audio satisfying and badass and the concept is really funny to me as well. Very, very good game

Hoo boy that final level is tough as nails! I really enjoyed the fast paced levels, but with that one being so long, I had to play very cautiously, which was different, but it didn't really feel like the game's strong point, so it didn't quite feel right ending it there. I was probably just playing it wrong, trying to lure people and only attacking with the box since it's safest, but slow. There could've maybe been like a timer or some sort of bonus in the end to incentivise speedy play for that specific level.

I really love the earlier levels though, so fast paced, I can't believe that each level only took like 5 seconds to beat. So much happened in those few seconds, absolutely crazy gameplay! And the soundtrack is such a banger, I felt like the coolest delivery guy to ever be drawn on paper. Brilliant game, glad I came back to it now that I'm fully awake =P

Really enjoyed this, really good spin on hotline Miami, I can't believe you did this many levels, it's really impressive. Admittedly I feel like there could've been an extra enemy for the later levels, but that's just me nit picking. Art style was amazing, felt a little hard to contrast the floor to the background sometimes, especially on the more frantic later levels. To wrap it up it's a well polished and executed game, hope to see more of it dude!

I got a good amount of cash from those kills, and the packages were a nice bonus

Amazing game from top to bottom. Feels frickin great to play as well. I'm really in love with the visual style. So much so that I really want to steal it lol. Love how simple and to the point that everything's been designed though. Let it be how apart from doors, everything in the game ( let it enemies or windows ) is mostly differentiated by a simple and easy to read colour, to the little bounce or re-bound a package does after you throw it, or the little effect you get when you throw a package against anything.

I have some issues though. I agree with Camh that the final level kinda kills the pacing of the game, though it definitely feels like a final level with how brutal it is. I also feel like the parcel's hit detection could have been slightly better, especially when enemies are kinda clumped together. Not really a fan of the level where a lot of melee guys come at you at once since it kinda devolves to how lucky you were about whether they came at you one at a time or not. Also not a fan of getting shot offscreen by the yellow guys at times.

But honestly though, this is a fantastic action game through and through. Great job

Very nice game! Mechanic is fun and doors open methosis really brutal. Now I wanna know, what is in package that it's can't exist without GG hands :P

Graphic is nice too, but palette is visual noisy (and 'visual overload', idk) in my opinion.

mmatt-ugh 2023-05-02 17:10

Well done with this! great take on the theme. Would love to see more enemy types.

fusionnist 2023-05-02 18:54

Favorite entry so far? Favorite entry so far. Sooo fun all around!!!! Loved the final level, by the time I could beat it I could speed through 2/3rds of it :D Lemme punch the bullets!!! :D

Adore the notepad pen sketch art style and I'm a big fan of the game feel and sound too. Theming is also top notch. Great game.

skelleroznik 2023-05-02 21:56

Definitely my favorite entry so far! The punches and throws feel very satisfying and juicy. The art style is on point. The fast-paced gameplay is EXTREMELY engaging. It felt a little frustrating that shooting enemies could shoot you from outside the camera, though. But it's such a small detail. It's hard to find anything wrong with this game. Simply gorgeous!

ixil-miniussi 2023-05-02 22:56

The little yellow guys could be frustrating at times, and having mostly no walls when the character throws the package at the highest possible velocity made me less willing to throw it carelessly, which I feel was the most fun part of the game. Throwing, killing, kicking doors into enemies, and that 3 punch combo which was unnecessary but I'm sooo glad you added it! This game definitely had JUICE! I feel like the theme almost holds it back. Great game.

Only to start and play for a few minutes, as you understand how fun and exciting this game is. I really like it

zahkros 2023-05-03 08:01

Very good entry, gave me APE OUT vibes for sure! Suprisingly polished, especially the camera handling, nice job! The visual style is well choosen, fits for the game. My only problem was the difficulty curva. The tutorial phase is perfect in my opinion but after that there is a level with 8-10 enemy running towards you and it was a bit hard suddenly. Anyways, this is a very minor issue, all in all amazing game, hats off!

mallansandan 2023-05-03 20:24

Very nice! Had a good rhythm to the gameplay loop! Great work!

cameron-paxton 2023-05-03 23:41

Maybe it's because I'm getting old (I am) but the visual style was difficult for me to look at for too long. Thankfully the bright colors made it easy to differentiate the enemies and the breakable glass, but the mix of pixel AND sketch art felt a bit garish. The sound effects were also fairly harsh, especially compared to music.

Okay, negative part out of the way: this was still quite enjoyable. It has a great kinetic energy, and smashing glass and doors feels great. I felt powerful enough to tackle a room full of enemies but still vulnerable enough that I had to be intentional with my movement.

Solid entry, and good luck with the jam!

drainkid 2023-05-04 00:40

This is a fantastic submission, I love the visual style and there's a lot of juicy feedback and satisfying gameplay! Really great job, seriously!

virtualman52 2023-05-04 02:25

Feels absolutely great to play! I enjoyed smashing through the levels and dodging projectiles. Controls were responsive and juicy. It reminded me of Superhot, combined with my favorite bullet hells! My only criticisms are the repetitiveness (fortunately it was just the right length to be perfectly enjoyable, but I wouldn't see many more levels without new mechanics being introduced) and that the last level felt like it could've been three different levels, as it was a bit annoying to run back and forth and to have to restart upon losing on the third section, but I did enjoy beating it nonetheless. Great work!

Game plays on Linux flawlessly over wine.

Any game that reminds me of hotline miami is already going to be pretty good. The music was a perfect fit and the pen and notebook paper aesthetic felt smooth and clean. Throwing and catching the package to dispatch a gaggle of enemies feels perfect. The last level was downright mean but the game felt so nice to play I finished it anyway. Stellar. My only note is it took me a little long to realize I had to walk back to the exit during the tutorial.

terquey 2023-05-04 03:09

That was awesome! The ONLY thing I had some trouble with was the hitstun from hitting enemies. It felt like it went just a tad too long and interrupted my murderous rage. Other than that, really damn good!

vydra 2023-05-04 13:09

Paper Miami with best impact of throwing and beating!

Nice control and animations.

torcado 2023-05-05 01:24

another great sirmilkman entry :) extremely fun to play, very high energy and satisfying controls and feedback. the hitstun had this dual purpose of feeling really nice while playing, and also adding some difficulty/strategy, since the enemies don't get stopped by it. the music is great and the visual style is neat. great job :)

porcus-pie 2023-05-05 12:03

This game had a lot of style and charm to it, on top of a rocking soundtrack and some really intense gameplay. The game felt very hotline miami, but with the package you had to pick up and the edges to watch out for it had some really nice innovations and twists that pushed it into it's own league. The style as well, it didn't really suit the text as it was very hard to read, but the sketchy look with the broad highlights, such a clear and good looking aesthetic that suits the gameplay. It reminded me of sitting in class creating little war games in notebooks. I did find myself getting a bit frustrated with how precise I sometimes had to be, especially picking up the package. This may just be a skill issue but with a game that felt like it was encouraging me to go fast, I found it really hard to keep a flow going on not die, I only worked best when I played it super slow and safe. Again this might just be a thing that comes with practice. This is a good game, and I enjoyed my time with it, nice work!

sergilazaro 2023-05-05 12:21

YES HOTLINE MIAMI

I appreciate that you didn't also try the 80s aesthetic and tried your own thing with your own style! It also has a great feel when there are hits, it has a big impact on the game feel :)

tyrannas 2023-05-06 18:05

Liked the gameplay very much but the art style makes it very hard to read the game. Otherwise nice fx and music. Good job !

sinclairstrange 2023-05-07 22:52

I absolutely loved the art style and the audio! It being played on a doodle pad is amazing and I always love that style when I see it. Gameplay even though simple but fun and addictive which is the main thing here. Got really hectic towards the end, all around great stuff!

stagyl 2023-05-08 07:32

The sense of strike is so fascinating, every time the package hits the enemy and the pause of the melee attack to the enemy feels full of power. I feel like I haven't played such a refreshing game in a long time, and the last time was Hotline Miami. And the visual style of this children's sketchpad is also addictive. It reminds me of the graffiti on the notebook when I doodled in class and imagined the fighting of the little drawn characters.

automatonvx 2023-05-08 23:47

Fun, very hotline miami inspired feels like, but thats cool, still alot of fun and very polished. Enemies don't like to move between rooms, but can't complain too much for jam game. Fun art style too.
