LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

Colors of Your World by DDRKirbyISQ 2018-12-05T18:04:33Z

A joy to play, as always. I loved how the tone of the game shifted as you continue. The difficulty curve was especially impressive - it's hard to both ease the player into a game and challenge them with with the short time you have to make a Ludum Dare game.

Dungeon Runer by Andrea 2018-12-05T05:53:15Z

It's a super interesting idea - I think it's really cool and valuable that you relayed your experience with not understanding English through this game. It's not for everyone, but it's very unique.

Shooty Shapes by Andrew Castillo 2018-12-05T05:56:07Z

Well executed shooter. The slow-mo effect made my jaw drop the first time I saw it.

Amazing graphics and music. Just wish the platforming aspect felt nicer.

Shoot or Move by Dan Colman 2018-12-05T05:49:20Z

this sounds like it'd be amazing with lots of people! It felt fun just to control the ships

Sacrifices must be made by TasakaSama 2018-12-03T22:22:19Z

Really cool idea for a puzzle platformer!

Hyperspace Sacrifice by Alex D 2018-12-05T05:58:53Z

Very nice presentation. One of the few games to establish an interesting atmosphere.

Stones by jihem 2018-12-05T06:03:15Z

Phenomenal puzzle game! It would be nice if movement was a little smoother, but the visual design makes playing this one really fun.

Savior by Harrison Ursitti 2018-12-05T05:46:13Z

Interesting game! Seems like the bullets are affected by the ship's velocity, which makes shooting weird.

Goat 6 by joaosdev 2018-12-05T06:08:52Z

My favorite puzzle game this Ludum Dare. The aesthetic and mechanics make this game a delight to play.

Total Party Kill by adventureislands 2018-12-05T06:17:36Z

Literally every part of this game is fun. It's amazing.

Quite possibly the best game in Ludum Dare 43

The word that comes to mind when playing this is definitely "polished." The sleek animations and visuals make things extremely clear and smooth. The feel of knocking boxes around is excellent. The slight kick back when you attack gives it some weight.

Keeping a high score list on the LD page is a fun addition.

I just wish there was a little more to the game. A lot of the time it felt like strategy could be boiled down to running in circles and holding left click.

Spaghetti Rails by milano23 2023-05-03T02:54:10Z

The music in this game is something else! I think it'd be a lot smoother to play if you could delete individual tracks instead of having to toss your rails wholesale.

Days on the Lake by nardandas 2023-05-03T03:24:30Z

I loved the little messages about each upgrade, always fun when text has the voice of the developers in it. The visual style is also top notch! There was some weird audio popping, but enjoyable play.

Beelivery by Jejkobb 2023-05-05T00:55:52Z

love the full song at the end! Incredible to see animated cutscenes, high quality original music, and polished visuals all in a game jam game. Who sung the song at the end?

PARCEL PUNISHER by SirMilkman 2023-05-04T02:50:47Z

Game plays on Linux flawlessly over wine.

Any game that reminds me of hotline miami is already going to be pretty good. The music was a perfect fit and the pen and notebook paper aesthetic felt smooth and clean. Throwing and catching the package to dispatch a gaggle of enemies feels perfect. The last level was downright mean but the game felt so nice to play I finished it anyway. Stellar. My only note is it took me a little long to realize I had to walk back to the exit during the tutorial.

Mt. Deliverest by QwillaK 2023-05-03T03:03:41Z

I love games that have these slightly unconventional climbing controls and give the player room to feel them out and master them. Really well done, even if some of the obstacles can feel borderline unfair sometimes I still wanted to keep playing.

Frontier Salvage by f1tzy 2023-05-03T03:12:45Z

the soundtrack really fits the alone in space vibe, and the sprites are all really well drawn! I think the main things that needed touching up here were the sound design and animations for the meteors exploding. Got crushed in the middle of two asteroids and instantly died but honestly still fun.

I always love games that shove in multiple languages, there's just something about it...

x64 version runs on Linux flawlessly over wine.

The physics on the cable as you stretch it taught feel great! Wish there was occasionally more direction, getting lost could be a little frustrating. Mitigated by the quick resets though!

Watching Eyes by AylanJ123 2023-05-03T03:16:45Z

Game seemed to play over wine with no problems.

Controlling the drone felt really great! But the motion blur started to make me sick after a little bit.

Love the little "patience is a virtue" message. The neon aesthetic looks really nice. It could be pretty hard to tell how high up you were, and I think that was because the camera angle means the character's body blocks its shadow most of the jump arc.
