Simple but no worse off for it. I think the levels started to repeat at 10?

icylava 2023-05-01 10:51

@minibetrayal yes they repeat but with more enemies, unfortunately I didn't have enough time for more levels because I wanted to make sure I had the sounds and music in. Thanks for playing!

le-goss-du-net 2023-05-02 17:32

It's pretty good but not enough juicy

Let's goooo! Super polished and fun to play, had a lot of impact and while the artstyle is simplistic it's very much interesting to look at.

tomas-selmeci 2023-05-02 21:01

I love it when i can play a game thats finished from top to bottom. Feels like you can easily add more levels now and have a full fledged game. Smooth gameplay, simple hypercasual graphics, easy to understand

togis 2023-05-02 21:24

Well I tried xD

This has to be one of the most fun jam games I've played, so engaging and really well design, congrats on making such great game, I've managed to reach level 24 on first try, but I can do better, I'll be trying some more 11.PNG

fupi 2023-05-04 01:28

Very well put together game. It's simple and to the point, in mechanics, graphics and even audio, feels very confident. I like how every game item has some sort of feedback by being shot at with your weapon, be it losing health, being pushed around or exploding. I think you shouldn't have to kill all the tiny red boids to pass the stage as they are very annoying to hit and often get very far away from you, but it's cool that you can kinda redirect them with your movement to make them stop. Also very strong mood, feels like a minimalistic sci-fi radar kind of thing

rincs 2023-05-04 01:59

YESS. This was fun, going to aim for the top.

The word that comes to mind when playing this is definitely "polished." The sleek animations and visuals make things extremely clear and smooth. The feel of knocking boxes around is excellent. The slight kick back when you attack gives it some weight.

Keeping a high score list on the LD page is a fun addition.

I just wish there was a little more to the game. A lot of the time it felt like strategy could be boiled down to running in circles and holding left click.

rincs 2023-05-04 08:21

LOl my friend played this while we were on a discord call, and he got this on his on the first run lol xD ("If I can get this on my switch with the switch controller, I'm done. I can spend a good hour on this, just trying to get a good score."). He did try again, but he lost internet connection and he lost the game trying to figure out what was wrong xD

i got to 25, at least i beat kuviman :)

rincs 2023-05-04 12:35

I reached my goal!! I'm content. =u = Screenshot 2023-05-04 213440.png

kosmik123 2023-05-04 13:41

At first after dying in level 4 I thought this game was too difficult. But then I restarted and it went much better. It's amazing how fast you learn to play this game. Also the variety of ways that new enemies appear (from sides, from corners, from big enemies) shows that the game was developed with care, what I really appreciate. I wish there were more levels

exilon 2023-05-04 15:22

Literally got blasted lol. Fun game though. Good difficulty, pacing is a little slow and the art is a little lacking but everything else makes up for it.

olddog 2023-05-04 15:37

very nice game art,I like this game idea so much, and animations are so smooth, hoping for more updates of this game

sephowepho 2023-05-04 15:42

That was a nice, really polished bullet-hell entry ()! I feel the theme is a bit loose (not *too* much of a problem), but I loved the game nonetheless. It's just really *sleek*, simple but effective graphics, nice background music with blippy (definitely a word), addictive sounds, the neon colors clearly separate the screen to your advantage, really really neat. I don't have a whole lot to say about it in terms of actual feedback, but it's a nice, fun, minimalistic, and challenging submission.

Great job, keep it up! (couldn't beat your score at the moment though)

gonzo13 2023-05-04 16:19

Really good game! Pretty graphics and gameplay. I would like faster shooter but it's ok now too.

Had a fun time trying to beat folks' high scores! Music was a bop, and enjoyed trying to strategically dodge and aim amidst a bullet hell. It felt clean and intuitive, and I enjoyed it!

jitspoe 2023-05-05 01:28

Made it to 25. Beat Kuviman, at least.

jatinstic-gaming 2023-05-05 06:49

Really nice! Loved the modern feel. Though it could definitely use some more juice.

Made it to 35 and then my laptop just couldn't take it anymore. Screenshot (28).png

andidebob 2023-05-05 12:24

What a fun game! I love the artstyle you went with, the only annoying thing are the red circles when you get them on a trajectory that keeps them off screen for a long time. All in all a super solid game, well done!

Also: SECOND PLACE BABY!

wendel-scardua 2023-05-05 18:12

I need to play this one more later, wanna enter at least 10th on the Manual Leaderboard™ :-)

delive-26.png

I love the... "organic"(?) way the ♦ enemies move, wonder how hard it was to make them move like that.

fargred 2023-05-05 18:26

A game that just feels and plays very nice. I really like the clean style and look of it, everything blends together very well. Interesting twist as well with the enemies getting delivered, although gameplay-wise it only seems to have a minor effect (i.e. you can push them around a bit)? The shotting feels fery smooth and impactful however!

Saw this game featured on a stream. I really started to get into it once I had the controls down.

aurel300 2023-05-06 13:21

Fun for score chasing, although the build up is a bit slow.

Screen Shot 2023-05-06 at 15.17.37.png

Some things to improve: I don't think the health should replenish over time, at least not without killing something. This way, when there is just one enemy left, it can be easily exploited to regain full health. Maybe there should be a timer for advancing the round automatically, with or without killing all the enemies? I played on an older machine and the web build, so maybe this is just a problem for me, but with large amounts of the homing enemies, there was quite a lot of lag. This is also what killed me in the end, all the homing boxes spawned and I got like 1 FPS so I couldn't really dodge.

honest-dan 2023-05-06 21:38

I was glad to join the 25 club on my play through today. I think this was novel idea, and your mechanics added opportunities for players to strategise, more than usual in bullet hell games. The only complaint was the pacing, because it took so long to get to where I died, I feel repeating it all again would be cumbersome, as it'd likely not be challenging to repeat 90% of what I did on my first play through.

Fun little game, damn! Smart way to get lots of content with minimal dev time, though it would make it hard to replay when each stage is the same. Here's the stream vod if you'd like to rewatch;

chris1919 2023-05-07 16:55

The game was pretty fun. I liked the simple color palette. But I did find it confusing to distinguish between the square enemies and bullets shot from the other enemies. My main critique though is that I wish you didn't have to press the mouse button at all. I think you could've just been autofiring all of the time. The reason I say this is because my hand gets worn out from holding down the mouse button for that long. It's probably not an issue for a lot of other players, but it would've been a nice accessibility feature

zimny11 2023-05-07 17:16

Great game! Really well polished. I think the hp regeneration could be a bit slower to make game a bit harder. Besides that, amazing job with this one!

poshdan 2023-05-07 20:35

Played this on stream, died on 24. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1812429312?t=02h55m41s I'm absolutely mind blown with how well you've utilized just a handful of different things in compo, to provide an endlessly playable game that is challenging, has a clean & pleasant aesthetic, and even dazzles with the enemy movement/physics on the timed boxes. I would've loved a bit of escalation on the player's arsenal a bit, so it's not just a simple "hold the mouse button until you die" sort of thing. But what a great game still!

ausstein 2023-05-07 21:51

Thank you so much for dropping by My stream! I really enjoyed the game :)

sneakyfox 2023-05-08 00:54

Ok, this is hard game) I tried to beat is much as I can, but I can't go over 25 score, it's sad The last flying obstacle is annoying, it's hard to kill it, to finish the level

Great game)

Loved the minimal art style and how the packages could be different enemies or bombs. There's a surprising amount of little mechanics that allows for more dynamic gameplay like the subtle knockback that can be used to move around faster, being able to shoot the boxes around so you can get them to spawn enemies where you want, the timer on them so you can try to time your shots when the tiny swarm enemies pop out, and the bombs also damaging enemies. Very nice!

My main issues are very minor, mostly just when enemies would go off screen and sometimes stay off screen for a while, and I think the player shooting sound was a little annoying. I think it could have been same sound as enemy bullets but slightly lower pitch because of the larger size (and also a slight randomization so its not the same exact sound every shot). Something on right click could have been cool too like a larger shot or longer range, but has longer cooldown + knockback

This is tough! But it's got some good game-feel. I echo some other commenters that theme is a bit loose, but ah, who cares if the game is fun. Nice job!

jimmymcginger 2023-05-09 21:09

Gamefeel and vibes are great here. Enjoyed the enemy patterns and how they move. The music was great, the only real criticism was that the shooting noise was too harsh.

francis 2023-05-13 01:03

Minimal art-style works well in this polished game. I did think that the pacing of the game was a little slow, and the main culprit are the swarm enemies that fly past you, out of screen, and you gotta wait for them to come back. It would also be nice if the gameplay changed up a bit more, I didn't feel compelled to keep playing after the loop, but it certainly seems like others did! Given the jam constraints, well done :)

markais 2023-05-13 23:34

Great game, although the repeating levels is an artifact of the LD time limitation I really like it as it allows you to develop strategies for different levels and then put those strategies to the test in the same but increasingly difficult scenarios.

laflaurine 2023-05-14 08:33

Simple but effective. The controls are fun!

I would have liked to get some bonuses to be able to kill the enemies faster at certain times!

Good job! :)

adamcyounis 2023-05-18 09:14

Hey!

I really liked the simplicity of the presentation for this game. I thought the vector style graphics were perfect for the bullet hell style gameplay in that everything was visually clear in its identity, effect and behaviour. Lots of nice little touches like knockback on firing and everything had clear sfx. Huge points for style, overall.

Gameplay wise, I did enjoy my time with the first 10-15 levels but by 20, it seemed like I was having to be patient with the game's pacing rather than on the edge of my seat. I wonder if this is tied to the way that difficulty decreases after the initial impact of a wave, where if you don't immediately die, success is more and more assured. There are a ton of ways I think ramping up the intensity and dynamics to make the higher levels feel more engaging could be achieved (random upgrades of things like adding a dash with invincibility frames? extra firepower for a limited time? more complex enemy behaviours that become more aggressive the fewer there are?), but for a jam game I think you did more than enough to be proud of.

Thanks for sharing!

bauke-regnerus 2023-05-19 08:15

I love games like this, some geometry wars and super stardust vibes going on. The visuals are the main attraction for me. But I agree with the comments about the pacing. It just doesn't ramp up quick enough. At some moments it felt like I had to sit through it, waiting for a bit more challenge.

aurailus 2023-05-19 19:37

This game feels and looks so smooth! I love minimalist bullet-hells like this. I liked the subtle theming with the enemies coming out of boxes. The attack patterns felt smooth, I felt like I was in control, and the difficulty curve was pretty good given the time it was made in. If I had to complain about one thing, I don't really like how the enemies can fly off of the screen and come back at mach speeds, but that is a matter of taste I think. Super great presentation, and the gameplay was a lot of fun. Great job!
