LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

Mission to Io by DeathBySnail 2018-12-03T03:35:39Z

I felt like I learnt a lot from reading through the story because of how well I felt it was written. However I felt as if the game could have more events that create suspenseful moments, the sound did create a good atmosphere around the later parts of the game.

Can't Get No Sacrifaction by Pennycook 2018-12-06T02:34:55Z

I played on WebGL and had quite the difficulty playing the game where the player kept sliding around the place in addition to encountering bugs such as selecting to sacrifice speed but then speed isn't sacrificed in the end.

Perhaps for the sword you could have implemented knock back so that it would be more useful.

I did like the idea on how encouraged players to fight instead of survive since only surviving would just end in your untimely demise.

Love me some card games. This game brought out an great mood which tied very well to the theme, the dark atmosphere and the unnerving audio definitely brought chills down my spine. Also how the surprise factor that was brought throughout the mysterious setting and narrative made it special as a whole.

I like what you did with the knife and how cool it affected gameplay (Although making it somewhat difficult).

For bugs, other than the warren cancel to draw infinite bunnies. There is another that if you rush through the tutorial by playing cards too early the game gets stuck, and you cant ring the bell to progress either.

I like the fact that you paced the game's learning curve really well. Then requiring us to deduce the rules to find the solution.

Keyboard Twister by Papercookies 2018-12-03T04:40:02Z

The game was fun, had a good laugh with a friend. Unfortunately it seemed somewhat impossible unless your fingers were very flexible, or had really good RNG (maybe, unproven so far for both cases).

I really liked the direction you took for the theme, mood and pacing for the story.

I love the mechanics for this puzzle game, well made level design and peculiar story. Interesting take on the sacrifice theme

Well made game

escape from apocalypse by nakato53 2018-12-03T15:33:55Z

The game felt very finicky at times where some uphill were walls and definitely had difficulty controlling the bots through the UI above their heads. Perhaps if they had key inputs after you selected them to give them orders would have been preferred.

All in all I like the feel of managing the sacrifices of your bots.

Shepherd Sacrifice by aCuriosity 2018-12-06T02:45:32Z

A very zen game, the music and sounds were definitely what made this game better

Alain's Sacrifice by Daniel_Abeleira 2018-12-03T02:22:57Z

The game is very simple with the design of increasing difficulty through decreasing health and more enemies. The control scheme is somewhat questionable and so were the confusing/missing instructions. Quotes were a nice touch to the whole story of the game but so were those custom sound effects.

@scarfdev I couldn't find the time to put a proper tutorial in. Now it's on the description but you can offer your date's happiness to get some letters back.

And thanks everybody for your comments, it made my day!

@yirggzmb I totally forgot about fullscreen mode since I had WebGL in my head nearing the end. Also thanks for bringing up the marking advice, I didn't notice it on itch.

@imer Thanks for the input, I shall keep that in mind for future possible updates on the game!

@pukami Try to use the offering mechanic of the game if you haven't encountered it. Other than that you have the knowledge of your previous experience to assist you.

@kbf123 That is a problem on the WebGL version, you can read more about it on the Extra Notes section.

@ente I managed to fix the bug OwO. For browser I'm not completely sure since it's my first time pushing to WebGL so all I can really say is to download the file for a better experience.

@daruudaruu I don't know how to draw backgrounds for my life

Flying Farmer by relixes 2018-12-03T03:49:44Z

Fun simple game with compatible music that creates the feel of old arcade games. The gif of the game did help explain how the game worked but I generally feel the explanation should have been within the game itself, but since this is a browser game it should be fine.

Body Smasher by cqcumbers 2018-12-07T06:31:03Z

I like the game's take on puzzle platforming with using dead bodies. By moving having to move your living corpses it created a new form of puzzle which was great. It was albeit difficult to control at times since you have to time it and move precisely or you might just screw up the puzzle entirely. Great to see a game being used on TIC-80 too.
