I would like some more surprises along the way because most of the observations the main character makes about the different rooms were pretty uninteresting. Really solid try though!
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD43 → Mission to Io

Quite interesting idea to make the text game. As for me, it should be faster or just shorter, but, anyway, it's pretty cool:)
I really liked it! I liked how the voice was real and the ambience in different areas was a nice tice. 9/10
I really like how you choose what happens in the game and its not set what you have to do!
I felt like I learnt a lot from reading through the story because of how well I felt it was written. However I felt as if the game could have more events that create suspenseful moments, the sound did create a good atmosphere around the later parts of the game.
I have to say, the sound design was really immersive. Really heightened that sense of foreboding and set me on edge as I went through the dialogues. I felt like I could be ambushed at any moment. I also appreciate that certain actions change when you interact with them more than once, like the captain's chair. Also, *thank* you for making the text go faster when you click, it's probably common sense but I probably would have stopped after the first 30 seconds if I couldn't speed up the text.
I don't know how many endings there are, but I got the ending where the ship is locked down. I purposely left the distress signal turned off to make sure that thing didn't leave the station, which meant it was only a matter of time before that thing kills me. Hopefully that also means the ship will cave on itself and destroy the parasite. I believe that suits the theme perfectly, and it does so without spelling it out for you.
I think the only thing that would have made it better is if it had some kind of visuals to accompany what's being written on the screen sort of like the old Hobbit text adventure games.
Great job all around, text adventures don't get the love they deserve sometimes but I think this was worth the ten minutes or so I spent playing it.
So atmospheric, good job!
A good game and cool sound got a little boring after a while but interesting to play.
I absolutely loved the atmosphere, really nice sound design, good writing, also good text render speed. I find most of text games too slow and this was just fine, clicked to make it faster just a couple of times.
I don't really see the theme in the game though. I did not have to sacrifice anything, grabbed scalpel from the body in medbay, went to the bridge, unlocked navigation, activated the distress beacon and changed destination to Mars. Then I waited in the shaft and kill the thing, that came up.
However I actually saved the game to my bookmarks and will give it another go later as I have too much questions about what happened and I'm sure the theme is in there somewhere. Will change my theme rating if that's the case.
Overall, great job! I had fun playing this one. :)
Nice atmosphere, but could use a volume slider.
Loved the atmosphere! I really got into it at some point, getting vibes of Alien-type movies. I was scared of running into whatever that thing was...
Great use of audio and text to set up such a stressful ambiance! Loved it, well done!
Ah.. I was anticipating having a go on this one. I absolutely *love* this sort of game, particularly the atmosphere. The idea of being out in space in complete isolation with serious problems to solve has made many a good sci-fi game (or movie). Excellent use of sound and minimalist visuals. This is one game I'll be coming back to to finish. Excellent work!
The ending is slightly anti-climatic.. I grabbed the scalpel, is it possible to fail without it? Anyways! I love the text-adventure nature of this, and the mood is scary.
nice work!
The sound really drew me into the story, and the anxiety started to build which is really impressive in a text adventure. I really like the use of the logs as a replay of the events and to uncover the mystery. Fantastic job!
I was not expecting much of this game as it is not my favorite style but it blew up on me: the music and the good storyline caught me into the game. I played it only once so I did not notice a huge relation with the theme but I will come back to play to see a maximum of ending and what sacrifice I made during this first try. Good job
An interesting game with a kind of mechanics. I put a rating) Please rating and me, thanks in advance)
Very good game!
Wow. That genuinely gave me chills. This is a fantastically executed text game; the interface is satisfying to use, the text appears at a readable speed, and the music complements it perfectly. The sounds matching the events added immensely to the atmosphere. Brilliant game! I managed to survive by the way, set the ship's course to Mars. Is that the best ending possible?
Great one! I really love text adventures. Nice soundtrack too.
A great text adventure. Much better presented than the one I did a couple of LDs ago. Reading a few of the comments, I see some people are happy with the speed the text appears, but it was a bit slow for me, I found myself holding the mouse button on every screen to hurry it up. Maybe an option would be nice.
(Don't worry, I understand... you never have time to put in options, I sure didn't)
The music is awesome!
Well done! Nice overall, music, narrative, choices all good! Unsure what I keep missing when playing it but such is life =)
I don't really like visual novels, but that was pretty good I guess. The sounds were nice. The story was kinda undeveloped and there shouldn't be options available if the player just selected them a moment before.
The audio of this game was absolutely amazing and it really pulled me into the atmosphere. Amazing job!
Good atmosphere! Well writen story. You should make a second chapter. I want more !!!
I found the game quite immersive, which was surprising to me, because I don't normally find text adventures compelling at all. On my first and only playthrough I was able to succeed at finishing the story successfully, as far as I could tell. I didn't have to drop the cargo or anything like that, so I didn't really experience the "sacrifices must be made" aspect of the game at all. I enjoyed the game. Good work.
A good solid text adventure, I like to see these in game jams. Good work! :green_book:
