What a great game! Impressive to be done in a Ludum Dare!
There seems to be a bug though. If you select the warren but cancel, you still draw rabbits.
The aesthetic, graphics, music are all amazing!

What a great game! Impressive to be done in a Ludum Dare!
There seems to be a bug though. If you select the warren but cancel, you still draw rabbits.
The aesthetic, graphics, music are all amazing!
Absolute masterpiece, great sound and mood. This is by far my favorite.
Took me a couple of attempts to beat the last game.
Amazing! Great atmosphere and storytelling. I really enjoyed going through this.
this is honestly one of the most impressive looking ludum dare games i've seen. extremely good atmostphere and very well done with the theme. it's very smooth and looks very finished.
like secretmapper said though, there is the warren bug where it gives you rabbits just by selecting him. otherwise, the game felt very complete.
wow, great job. It's the first one 5 star game I played in this time LD. No need to mention about how good the graphics or the storytelling is. I really like your design details such as cat has 9 life.
Wow, this is a really impressive entry. The story and presentation really immersed me into the game.
This is an incredible game. If it doesn't win in like every category I'll be shocked. I really started to enjoy it mechanically. I wanted to find more synergies with the cat. There are so many brilliant decisions in this game. Being able to smoothly look between your hand and the board in a first person perspective is genius. The scales to represent life is an amazing choice that simplifies the mechanics of card games very well (my only complaint is you don't know how close you are to winning). The aesthetic works wonderfully well. This game should be studied for how to do a game jam well.
I found it cool how I found myself waiting on sacrificing a creature in case I needed to use it as a blocker.
One thing, is the warren card bugged? It seemed to generate infinite rabbits if I just clicked it.
well, i found the perfect submission. This excels in EVERY Category! I would be stunned if you didn't get high ranks for this one.
I found a bug with the Warren card.. Makes it very easy ;) If you click the warren (even if you don't have the sacrifice to play it) and then press S to go back to your hand, you will still get the rabbits. EDIT: realized im not the first to find this
I have no words to describe how amazed I am.
Loved this, the artwork is amazing, the atmosphere is fantastic. Very impressive entry, good job
It took me a lot of losses before I ever played a cat... and... hey, that's really useful, perhaps required =). I thought it was just a crappier Stoat.
Great entry, love the art and ambiance!
One of the few that's kept me gripped all the way through, great atmosphere!
As an avid card game lover this is beautiful. My favourite game out of all LDJams so far. Beautiful atmosphere and I can't believe this was made in a compo.
Genuinely great atmosphere, and the mechanics in your card game are very creative. Good job!
Bloody fantastic work. If this was a fully fledged free-to-play collectible card game, I'd be rushing to buy more packs.
Wow. Just Wow. Amazing gamea nd i loved it!
your game felt really good. Great atmosphere and meeting of art styles, but difficult as hell, in a way that doesn't make me feel like i have the ability to do much
Wow... The mood is really impressive and dark. I can't really find any weak elements. For now that's the one of the best games I've played on Ludum Dare <3
wow! AMAZING game ~ the atmosphere is so cool! I made a totally different adorable game, if you want to try it.š
This game is pretty awesome. Didn't think I would get longer than 30 minutes into the game. The knife part was pretty clever.
Incredible game ! You managed to pair the narrative and the mechanics in a superb way, and everything feels really polished. Well done !
Excellent work ! You can be proud of yourself with that game !
I spent fare more than the 10-15 minutes trying and I still have no idea how to beat the last game without exploiting the warren bug.
Mood overkill! xD
Wow, The mood, the story, the atmosphere. This is truly great and the simple yet difficult choices are really entertaining. I like how placement really locks you in and order of placement is really important. A really solid card game. Unfortunately, I never got fed :(. It is really hard. I would love to see some mechanics for moving cards, either yours or your opponent's, but they are costly.
This game is absolutely fantastic! Other than the Warren bug, as many others have already mentioned. Although, a check for if you've used the knife or not in round 2 would be useful - both with and without cheating using the Warren, I won that round without having to sacrifice my eye, and yet my eye was missing in round three. A little bit frustrating, since losing an eye does of course make it harder to see, and using the knife in round three is optional to the story it seems compared to the eye that's expected to be lost - or at least, I don't know if I had a hand or not when I got to the ending, so I'm thinking positive. Really amazing though, absolutely phenomenal! I love that the game closes itself at the end, although if there was a menu I think an abrupt return to that for easier replaying would have been better - but since the game is abrupt in starting too, that's fine. I wish there was a way to skip the tutorial on replays, though - or at least speed it up.
I was thoroughly surprised by this game, and the ending took me by surprise. The game feels complete and seems to be the only one that took itself with absolute seriousness throughout. It was unsettling, creepy, yet intriguing. I really enjoyed it, and its probably my favorite so far.
Holy crap, that game me made uncomfortable in a good and terrifying way. Your game was so good @mortifix actually made me bring up and play it. You did good work, thanks for sharing this with us.
It's so unbelievable that you have made this game in 48 hours! The whole things are well polished. I was shocked when I had to pay the parts of my character's body as a chance to win. Anyway, you make it, it's quite awesome!
this a really good entry, i really like the art style and the ambiance of the game and how the theme was used, good job!
This game was amazing the mood was incredible as was the art and the card game itself. I did find a bug where if you choose to put down the warren and then deselect it without putting it down or sacrificing anything you get the rabbits anyway. I may have used that to cheese my way to victory.
A real cool game. Was fun to play. Finished it two times, just to see if there is a difference at the choice at the end.
Great Work well done
It's impressive how well everything fits together! I found some levels harder from other. That was also probably linked to the fact that the game explained the cat's power only once i had put the card in play. At first i was reticent to use it since it seemed weaker than other cards. It was also unclear how close to the table the scale was. All in all it's an excellent entry from start to finish ! Great job !
Cool atmosphere and style and graphics and game =) Thank you it was nice to try
Pretty amazed with what you've achieved for 2 days! Really impressive
Seriously loved this one. Was a bit confusing at first, but after Dans explanation on stream- I played a bit myself and I really like it. It was extremely well done. Perfectly fits the theme. I applaud you :D
I loved the visual style! Pretty good idea, but it relied too much on randomness to be a strategy game.
Very intense! The tutorial was very welcome, and it did its job very well. I felt like the difficulty was ramping up nicely, and that I was in control (on the contrary of similar card games that feel too random). The graphics are stylish and very appropriate, and so is the sound. The ending is really abrupt, but it also fits the game. I don't really have anything bad to say about this. Impressive!
I really like this concept and I really digged the mood/tone. The game felt a little stacked against me though when the hunter cards starting coming out.
This would be extremly good even for a jam and this is compo! Best game I have played so far. Simply impressive
Just perfect, not only does it look like it could be a fully released game, and not only does it play perfectly with great animations and game-feel, but it's also superbly balanced for a compo game as well. Just awe-struck (and I love your full games too  so wasn't a surprise). 10/10
Awesome game! found a bug thou, if you use the "warren" and click on a field with no creature, the game thinks that you killed something and rewards you with rabbits even tho you didnt sacrificed a thing.
The mood reminds me of "over the garden wall" (an animated minni-series) i enjoyed the gameplay and love the art style. The end is intense too. respect.
Loved it! Impressive job on everything :D
Played till the end! This game was amazing. I played for a solid 30 minutes! I was stuck on the second level for a long time. Brilliant mood. I almost turned around when the creature said there was someone behind me.
Good game! Never excepted I have to eat myself in the end.
This game! This game creates a hell of a mood! :)
Amazing game with cool graphics!)
As expected, this game is amazing!
So many great ideas, awesome mood, art, audio and polish! That's a full score from me!
*Oh and thank you so much for playing our game yesterday*
i am trully impressed by your entry, such a nice aesthetics you got there ! pretty fun as well
This is just an amazing entry for a Ludum Dare competition.
Thank you for this experience. Great job
Great game, I liked the mood, and the card game is simple yet interesting. The story makes each game a bit special. I found a bug, I think, with the warren card. If you selected it but cancel the sacrifice, you still get 2 rabbits, so infinite rabbits I guess. I would prefer that the two ending where not that similar. Good job!
Great game! Many good words already said. The thing I didn't like is darkness at the end - when you click (knife?) - it may play into atmosphere, but I want to see cards=)
Amazing! Great entry!
@alexkishchinskiy That's because you cut your eye out! But I've heard it isn't that clear :P
Was showing this game to my dad, and we ran into that warren bug :( You should totally hot fix that :D
Very good grafics, narrative and gameplay! Mb should add cubes after all minions turned. Imo, shaking camera after every card distracts only. My english is very bad and I painted what it meants. 1.png
On picture u can see, how many time u will save to player for full immersion in core gameplay. I hope that you will continue to develop this project and we will see it in digital stores as steam, gog etc.
Wow really cool game!! The warren bug was pretty funny having infinite bunnies but other that than it was perfect. Great Job.
Loved it. The first game in this Ludum Dare that I've played all the way through. Very menacing atmosphere. Bravo
Nice game with great graphics and a "kinda scary" story, reminded me of Pony Island but turns out you are the creator of that game. Great job!
Great mood, aesthetics, game play, everything. Great job!
Damn, that was hella creepy, great work!
@hellsquirrel I appreciate the diagram! I understand exactly what you're saying. My original thought was that I wanted to be very clear about why the damage is stacking up. I think your way is better when players already understand how the game works.
I enjoyed this quite a bit. The gameplay was interesting and fun and required a bit of thinking. Great work!
Exceptional entry! I very much enjoyed it, both the gameplay and the story. The mood was great as well.
Amazing game, I love all the story and the bitter ending. I found a glitch with the warren, if you click to play it but don't place it you will still get two rabbits. I liked the artwork and the sound was minimal but fit the aesthetic.
Absolutely incredible. Polish it a bit and sell it, this mechanics are absolutely amazingly simple. I'd play this both mobile and tabletop no doubt.
Very nice. The gameplay was solid and fun. An idea I would not have thought of.
Excellent atmosphere. Very nice tutorial, minimalist but efficient. I'm a bit ashamed that I had to use the warren bug to get through the last level, after 30 minutes trying to beat it. Very nice ending o/
INFINITE RABBITS!
Such a great game. It's beautiful, the atmosphere is perfect, the theme is spot on. I guess if I had to find something to complain about (other than the warren bug, which I used to finish the game) would be the talking audio. I found it a bit loud and grating. Maybe toned down ever so slightly. It did fit the atmosphere well though I think it was maybe just a bit much.
Amazing!
two bugs to fix: selecting the warren and cancelling gives you rabbits but you don't lose the warren, and it's possible to softlock the game in an endless loop of both players dealing the same amount of damage, and having no cards left.
Still, excellent in every single way!
Amazing visual and atmosphere, really well executed concept.
Well done! I seriously love the sacrifice mechanic to play the higher tier cards, that was pretty ingenious!
That is insane for a compo game! Tried playing again to maybe try getting another ending but the game got stuck when I played the Stoat before the message to play it came up, lol.
But still, this was amazing!
I also had this bug with the warren card. Anyway, this game feels balanced and complete package. It has great atmosphere and nice graphics. I love the opposing character's eyes lurking there!
Well damn, now this is a great game. feels super polished and well thought out (yeah, even accounting the warren bug). crazy atmosphere, i felt spooked. Great use of theme, Just a great package overall! It was fun, it was captivating, It was scary and had a story, not too long, challenging, sacrifice on multilevel, I feel outdone, 5 stars.
You've got a winner in your hands for sure! Amazing job!
I can't believe you pulled this off in a weekend. The presentation is so good and the game itself is super addicting and I wanted more. For such [relatively] few cards you mustered up a lot of strategy focused around the sacrifice mechanic. Very fun game and impressive game design.
Fantastic, really well put together and love the game! Would be awesome to see a full release. Great use of theme, cool graphics and the mood is real intense.
It works pretty well! I played the game to end (with a little help from a glitch with the warden card) and I had fun! Great mood and good game overall. Cheers!
WOW! Very moody game! Loved everything! Loved the gameplay, the story, the balance, the art, the sounds, the opponent, the theme... Perfectly integrated tutorial also. You learn everything you need to know in the first moves and later while playing when new concepts are introduced! Can get really tough decision making also, which is nice! 5/5 from me! Only thing I missed was to be able to change the screens via mousewheel. Add this and for me its a solid perfect game! Thank you so much for the joy! :)
Extremely engrossing. I found a bug to get unlimited rabbits. When you have the warren card - but dont place the card on the field. Press S and then you will draw two rabbits. Rinse and Repeat. Still a brilliant game.
Art, mood, sound, card mechanics are amazing. A really creepy game (in a good sense), especially plot twists closer to the end. ~ ps. Š was kidnapped by a huge bunch of rabbits. Please, shut this warren and save me ~ Screenshot (270).png
Fabulous ambience, and excellent use of the theme. I liked how the cards represented your position of being prey for the hunter, and trapped. Though I did find a bug with the Warren card, if you you go to play it and back out you'll get the rabbits anyway, kinda broke the game for me :frowning2: but my second play through I just made sure not to use it without committing to play it
Wow, this was amazing. And can't believe this was a compo game. I really liked the card game mechanic, and it took me a while to manage to win the last round! (I did cut my hand but I assume there's no way to win without it?)
I did find two bugs: 1) The warren bug (getting infinite rabbits) 2) The game got stuck to me once when I sacrificed a cat when the table was full. The cat doesn't die but there's no place on the table to place the new card. The game got stuck and I could only continue by quitting and restarting.
Anyway, awesome job, this is a great game.
I was stuck for a while because i didn't know i could choose more than one card, no wonder. This game is so well made, the mood and card logic is very nice. I will probably play it again!
Cool, creepy feeling game. Simple, but well executed.
Absolutely astounding.
Shame about the warren bug.
I will tell you why I love this: I want to like Magic the Gathering, but can't. I cannot stand that in MtG your mana (a resource that you NEED in order to play the game at all) is tied to random chance whether you draw it or not. Here, I adore that every card you play is theoretically a resource to use to summon more cards. Fucking genius!
Where I can see it going wrong though is in the random chance of drawing many cards that do 0 attack, that could get annoying quickly. But you seem to have included enough type of each card in the deck that that doesn't happen, and I commend you for that.
Crazy good! Intense atmosphere, exceptional art, beautifully tied in with the theme, great gameplay and game feel, what more could you ask for? 5 stars across the board!
Did i just eat myself?
Well crafted entry!
The atmosphere is great, the sounds suit it very well, graphics are cool but the best thing in the game is the camera movement. You did a very nice job with it.
One bug (?) I found: clicking on the rabbit-giver card but not placing it also gives rabbits.
Reminded me of Hand of Fate. I liked it!
Fucking awesome game, I kinda wanna replay to see what the second knife does and what happens if I eat the child. Should at least win on mood. Sound design was great, graphics were great, gameplay was great. Afterwards I was just like "... okay that was dope as fuck".
This is why I still do Ludum Dare 6 years later.
I've got to HAND it to you, this is amazing. I liked how you still managed to throw in your weird narrative into a card game. It was slick, well presented and creepy as hell. I would love to see what if anything you make from this going forward.
I really wish you would stop being so good at making games
I really like the W-S interaction, it's the first I've seen in a card game. Other than that, the atmosphere is phenomenal, the dialogue, sound effects, graphics, make it even scarier than some professionally made "horror" games. Gameplay is basic, but I like how sacrificing is incorporated into both the card aesthetic and mechanic. The knife part was *brilliant*, half of the screen turning dark and ball falling into the scale really hits home the "show don't tell" aspect of storytelling.
Really good game! I found a loop-hole where you can play infinite warrens without sacrificing anything and still gaining infinite rabbits, plenty of food for everyone! Otherwise great mood and gameplay!
Love me some card games. This game brought out an great mood which tied very well to the theme, the dark atmosphere and the unnerving audio definitely brought chills down my spine. Also how the surprise factor that was brought throughout the mysterious setting and narrative made it special as a whole.
I like what you did with the knife and how cool it affected gameplay (Although making it somewhat difficult).
For bugs, other than the warren cancel to draw infinite bunnies. There is another that if you rush through the tutorial by playing cards too early the game gets stuck, and you cant ring the bell to progress either.
Dang.
I personally found the 2nd-to-last round harder to navigate than the final one, but they were both plenty interesting. Great job, I don't really know what else to say. I guess one small comment is that the growly audio synth "voice" clips, while cool and effective, felt like they could use a bit of cleaning up at points (??). Not sure if just my imagination but I felt like there were some audio pops and clicks. They were also quite loud comparatively to the environmental audio, maybe could be toned town a notch. That's pretty minor though, honestly.
Solid 5 stars in all categories. Warren is my favorite card to help unlock all the content. Good work!
Iām very happy to see this game did extremely well! Completely deserved.
Wow, I am amazed. How the hell did you manage to do this in only 48 hours? This game excels in every category. It is not just a great jam game, but just a great game period. This could really work as a full game and I really hope you expand on this concept because if you do I will be buying it in a heartbeat.
Hmm, the Steam front page today seemed to show me something that looked *really* familiar - https://store.steampowered.com/app/1092790/Inscryption/ . Congrats on your Steam release! (Or, if that's not you, call your lawyers?)
Omg, this is a very outstanding entry. The game's plot and visuals drew me in completely. https://2player.co/
I do agree that it's very atmospheric, enjoyed playing it. I did realize that I am fully into card games, played a lot of them, starting with Heartstone and finishing with poker. Playing other games doesn't feel that entertaining anymore, but card games do actually. During the last week, I have spent about 25 hours playing free solitaire online https://online-solitaire.com/, and it's been very fun actually. It requires you to be attentive and think a few steps ahead, which is most satisfying part about this game, at least from my point of view.
That is an interesting game. I like it. Besides, I also have a favorite game called [Geometry Dash Unblocked](https://geometrydashunblocked.io/). let try it
