I really like the neon style, it looks great! Does Dracula get stronger over time?

guardaro 2026-04-20 01:30

@fassenberg, CyberDracula does not get stronger over time because his power is already beyond mortal comprehension.

fassenberg 2026-04-20 01:33

Ah, I see πŸ˜„ so he’s already at max power. Respect.

Drift saves world!

Very stylish game. Congratulations on a successful LD!

dracula.png Great choice of genre! Arcade racing is a great choice for Ludum Dare. It took me quite a while to understand how the signal worked, but once I understood, I was able to complete the game quite quickly. Honestly, it would be cool to be able to shoot with the LMB and see Dracula's HP, because at the beginning I thought he only had 1 HP, not 3, which is why I died((

havearollonthefloor 2026-04-20 02:14

Oh, and I forgot to say that the music is kinda cool. Like it.

guardaro 2026-04-20 02:19

Congratulations, @havearollonthefloor! You are the current (non-developer) world record holder of fastest time to complete Dracula 2: The Bloodening of Neo London!

Also, thanks for the feedback. Yeah, some kind of health indicator would definitely have been helpful. Maybe a nice Dead Souls style healthbar?

havearollonthefloor 2026-04-20 02:31

@guardaro Dracula is a vampire. Maybe something like drops of blood instead of hearts? You could also add something like the ability to see Dracula's approach. For example, as he approaches, the Vignette (or some other visual effect) would increase. I'm not sure if this would be really useful for the player, but it would keep the player in fear of him, maybe.

guardaro 2026-04-20 02:56

@havearollonthefloor I like the vignette idea! At first I was planning to have the "darkness cloud" around Dracula diminish as he took damage, but honestly I just ran out of time to implement it. I added a bit of camera shake as he approaches, but it doesn't really do much until he's actually on-screen; starting it a bit further away would probably have been a good idea to make the approach more ominous (and noticeable). Thanks again!

Great visuals and feel! Took me few tries to figure it out, but noone can beat Dracula on the first try. Once I got a hang of it, it felt pretty slick and super cool. I managed to finish relatively quickly afterwards:

Who can beat my score?

guardaro 2026-04-20 18:38

Congratulations to @dzejpi, the new (non-dev) world record holder for fastest slaying of CyberDracula in "Dracula 2: The Bloodening of Neo London"! You **are** pretty slick and super cool.

purpledartfrog 2026-04-21 19:10

Impressive packaging... although Ctrl+D.... is not exactly the best key combination when playing in a browser  Left you a rating :thumbsup_tone1:

marudziik 2026-04-21 20:23

I liked the visuals - music and Dracula's voice were also pretty cool. The game idea is simple, but playable - however, for browser version you should somehow make sure that the browser ignores ctrl + w, ctrl + d combinations. Also, it would be nice to be able to remap those - some prefer to drive using arrows. Congrats on the entry!

guardaro 2026-04-21 21:34

Thanks for the suggestions, @purpledartfrog and @marudziik! Yeah, in retrospect I should probably just avoid using CTRL at all for anything web-based. The space bar should be pretty safe in the future.

baknik 2026-04-22 04:05

Same controls issue here, but I love the presentation!

pres2300 2026-04-22 04:19

I did it! I really enjoyed this. It took a bit to get used to the squirly controls, but it was manageable after a bit of practice. Good job on the music and voice lines! I found the best strategy was to run like heck to find ammo (appreciate the "signal" that helps) and then wait for dracula to come to you, shoot, run like heck some more. Is the idea that you are stealing a gun from a helicopter? I was a bit confused by how those were the ammo, haha. Regardless, nice job!

helagos 2026-04-22 13:12

Solid game ! Driving is not easy but kinda fun after some minutes of practicing. I die multiple time trying to change my direction after firing on him so maybe i would have "stun" Dracula when we hit it. The music is nice as well. Great job !

gdman 2026-04-22 14:00

Wondering what happened with first Dracula, well let's guess he reincarnated in some cyberspace, now we driving some batmobile-like car to find (with help of signal locator) powerful gun to make one shot on scary vampire with deeply powerful voice over. And trying to not being obliterated in dead end.

luka420 2026-04-22 15:44

The moment I saw the title I knew it was going to be a banger ahahahah I suck at the game but I had so much fun!

We had a great time playing your game [on stream](https://www.youtube.com/live/AsrUFSHAVx4?t=220s). Check out the link to hear our feedback.

01:29:91 high score! :smile_cat: :v:

mr-flower 2026-04-23 12:50

Dude, such a banger of a game, cyberdracula felt menacing with his sporadic movement. Also the laser felt so good to use with that kickback, especially firing and then drifting to immediately get speed to run away. The steering was very aggressive tho, but honestly just a difficulty curve, lol. Also music was very fitting for this, incredible job on this one :D

venomousmouse 2026-04-23 13:50

Nice little game. The car drifts a bit to much for my licking, but its not a big issue.

cogcomp 2026-04-23 17:54

Nice stylish graphics, the car drifts a bit much as others have mentioned, maybe add some kind of indication of how much grip the car has at its current speed? Also the collision box for Dracula seems a bit off. I could've sworn a hit him 3 times with the beamthingy several times only to get no reaction. The music and sound effects are really cool. Well done!

muraena 2026-04-23 18:50

Luka420 brought me here with "IT'S DRACULA 2!!!" Everyone has already said the rest but I'd like to add how satisfying and smooth effects feel, the cannon is just πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘ŒπŸ‘Œ

avhatar 2026-04-24 06:24

There's something wildly Batman-esque about this atmosphere. But overall it was really short of course β€” I wanted some upgrades for the car, and for Dracula to start launching those fucking projectiles at me. Basically I didn't get enough, I want more. Special respect for Dracula's villainous voice =) Screenshot_20.png

Captura de tela 2026-04-25 232849.png

I would never think someone would make a game about a car shooting at CyberDracula, and I'm glad someone did it. πŸ˜…

The graphics are very simple (except for the particle effects), but the idea that youre racing around a futuristic city tracking down a helicopter dropping ammo so that you can blast a monstrous cyber dracula in the face is incredibly epic. The music is great too with the castlevania lines and makes the whole experience even better.

Overall a short but very enjoyable compo game. Great job!

aweskybear 2026-05-01 17:37

Very cohesive experience! Amazing sound FX and music. I needed some time to realize how the ammo signal works.

I am clumsy, I promise to beat the game. I thought I hit Dracula a few times, but maybe I didn't. Will see. :relieved:  Maaaybe just an indication of when we have a hit / what's the HP is good. Will see, will see : )))

Awesome!

hollowsedge 2026-05-05 02:35

Really fun speedrun game with a bit of a difficulty curve. The controls take a bit to get use to but work well once I got the hang of it. I would like a bit more feedback on if I hit Dracula or not as sometimes I was sure I hit him but ended up missing.

The only issue I has was accidently closing the game on the web version with CTRL+W but was still able to play from the arrow keys.

I actually went back a second time and managed to get 00:41:88 !Screenshot 2026-05-03 024312.png
