What an excellent entry. It took me a while, got stuck somewhere with a V shape. How surprisingly simple but elegant and smoothing. I needed that chill and relaxing moment after a packed jam-weekend. Thank you for making this! The sound will be with me for today ... beep ... beep ... beep.

Indeed a great, elegant entry. It's simple yet the mood is really cool - the engine sound, the radar from time to time and as you go deeper the noise growing... all really nicely create that mysterious vibe! Congratulations, super entry!

The game lacks a display of coordinates or an arrow that will indicate where you are moving. For the first couple of minutes, it feels like you're just standing still.

qmdev 2026-04-21 14:17

@winbion Yeah, I was having trouble telling if the submarine was moving, but I didn't think to just add a depth gauge or something. Thanks for the helpful feedback.

Congrats on your first game!

It turned out pretty well. It’s a bit unclear whether you’re moving or not at times, but overall it’s easy to get through fairly quickly. It would be nice to see some changes to the submarine along the way.

In any case, thanks!

Though I think it could do with another mechanic for a bit of variation, I do like how the game is in service of one simple concept. It's actually quite hard to keep the scope of a game small enough so you end up with something polished at the end. You managed to that with your first attempt. Well done!

The End——This game gave me a lot of moments for quiet reflection. The "vacuum" period after each radar sweep reminds me of how I sometimes close my eyes while taking a walk—it helps me calm down, think deeply, and truly sense my surroundings and figure out exactly where I stand. It's a very philosophical game!

I saw other comments mentioning how amazing the audio is, but unfortunately, I was playing this during class so I had to play it muted... so sad!

Congrats with the first jam. Nice simple style, nice audio effects. Good job

Dang, for a first game jam, this is quite impressive. The glitchy visual shader is amazing and is never too much because of the minimalism. Also I played this without reading the description just to see if I could get context clues on playing, and it's soo good. having the static grow slightly louder helped guide me immediately without even realizing it. The flash of the signal to guide the player is great, and the movement speed is just slow enough for me to keep moving in a direction without worrying about crashing into something. This is a really good entry, although all the white at the end legit made me close my eyes, I was not ready for that it was so bright. But other than that, a really good entry all around. Good job :D

a bit intense, and lacks controls feedback. Welcome to the jam, good job

zakchaos 2026-04-24 06:13

Was enjoyable and felt really nice, was a bit taxing on my system on web, but ran smooth enough to enjoy, Great job!

thesmellofoxygen 2026-04-26 04:17

Extremely minimal, yet effective. The atmosphere is impressive. I wish i got just a little more at the end before the static overtakes us. Some indication of what it might be, or what our fate might be.

automatonvx 2026-04-26 23:55

Took me quite a while to figure out what was going on i'm ashamed to admit, but the minimalist style was quite intriguing. Neat idea and liked the style. Good work for your first jam.

Grats for the first jam, hoping to see you on others! The game is quite great, I couldn't suspect it was your first if I am being honest. The art is clean and straightfoward, it took a while to understand exactly what to do, but once I did it was a good experience. Really enjoyed the audio for this entry, and the overlay effects.

william-corrin 2026-04-28 21:57

I have mixed feelings about this entry - the concept is really cool, and parts of the execution are neat as well. Whatever shader you made to outline the peripheral geometry works well, but I think it needs to stay lit up for just a little while longer.

The pinging being automatic I'm torn about, on one hand, it contributes to the overall atmosphere of the game nicely and creates some tension - but on the gameplay side, its a bit frustrating more than anything to have to wait and not have control over what you're surveying.

And just to echo @winbion's comment - I had no idea I was even moving for the first while either. A more polished fix could be adding UI buttons to show you're moving, or having something other than just solid dark as the background - but even a super simple fix such as making sure you spawn near geometry to see the ping move could also have worked.

Hope I'm not too harsh. I really enjoyed the concept and I think you were pretty close to hitting a mind-blowing entry, but its missing a few things here and there. Great job for your first jam!

Really neat little experience with very good atmosphere. I really liked how scanning effect is done, its much cooller than in my game. There are some flaws like: it's pretty hard to figure out how ship moves or does it move at all (i think some little coordinates UI could help a lot) and ending is very abrupt, I expected to see some creepy creature or other scary thing at the bottom (as increasing during run static sound implied), but the game just ends when you reach certain height which feels empty. But overall, very nice entry.

A very novel idea! The deep sea makes me feel quite lonely.😭

Since I wasn’t sure whether I was getting lost, it was mentally hard to keep going through the maze.🤔Maybe you could add a map showing the areas already explored? Though I think it’s already pretty perfect as it is.

For a first game jam, I think this is already really impressive! (Why is your first time so different from mine.jpg)

freamdev 2026-05-04 06:50

I had some issues with figuring out if the ship moves until I ran into the first obstacle, I can't decide if I'm liking that, or wish there was some point of reference, either way its a nice entry with a pretty nice low art style.

bonedaddy 2026-05-04 13:31

Really like the graphical effect. This reminds me a bit of a game I played for an LD 12 years ago. I made it to "The End"

quadtree 2026-05-06 07:48

Very nice minimalist graphics. I did blunder around a bit because I assumed I needed to go right, but I eventually found my way down. It was a little hard to judge how far I moved between pings, but honestly I think that added to the atmosphere. Nice job!
