It seems like this game is too genius for me. I tried to do something, but all my actions kept leading to detonation. The concept is pretty good though โ I can appreciate your idea
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD59 → Lethal Signal

Your web version of this game is NOT loading ๐
Great idea to include noise in keep talking and nobody explodes. Puzzles were cool but I would shorten the tutorial or provide it in the main menu instead of while the bomb is ticking. Amazing twist on a good game
The concept of the game is really cool, but there are some issues that I find make the experience a bit unpleasant. First of all, correcting the messages by changing the frequency is fine, but when I see that Step 1 is corrupted, I change the frequency, but in the meantime the message has moved on to step 2, so I have to wait for step 1. Except thatโs when the corruption happens again, so I have to change the frequency, and it goes on like that the whole time, which is a bit of a shame. So pay attention to when the corruption occurs and try to make it so that when you change the frequency, the current message switches to a readable mode. I don't know if that makes sense, but in any case, well done!
The game here on the website seems to be stuck in the loading phase of unity. I am using chrome if that helps.
The core mechanics are well designed and make for a fun game, more puzzles would be nice but can't expect more from a jam game. One thing that was the most annoying by far is that whenever I alt tabbed the game to for example write down a sequence for step 3 when I still haven't done step 1 because it was corrupted the game would freeze. Nonetheless I had a blast (pun intended).
@itero-proto @crygos Not too sure why its not working for you, maybe it just takes a while to load. You can try the download in the meantime.
@splix Thanks for the feedback, I understand what you are saying and do agree that it probably would of been better if the message repeats the same step instead of them all. I just worried that would make the game a bit too easy, but the current solution is probably a bit too confusing.
@glem-fumeno If I had more time I would of made a more fleshed out Tutorial as the current intro is not ideal. Thank you for the comments.
@miclefirst have you tried clicking on the monitor on the left to get instructions?
@nullmoxy Yes, of course. Unfortunately, my English is not very good, and it was difficult for me to understand all the instructions. I tried to figure it out on my own several times, but without success
@miclefirst Thank you for trying!
damn, the game really reminds me of Rusty Lake, especially The Past Within. i'm a huge fan of puzzles and u nailed the theme here.
changing the message based on frequency is a sick touch! the only thing is i wish there was a way to speed up the text or skip it like in visual novels.
The game is not loading :(
Keep talking and nobody explodes vibes
It's funny, but it was difficult.
as mentioned, cool approach to make single-player "Keep talking". i didnt really liked the thing that after restart you need to wait all repeated phrases before narrator will give you instructions, but anyway enjoyed it.
Couldn't beat the hard difficulty but could do easy. It was very fun and I liked the art, the one thing I didn't entirely enjoy was the intro was about a minute long and every time I died, I had to do it again but other than that great game!!
@jamesgames1000 Thanks! Yeah if I had more time I definetly would add some text speed or skip options.
@kenoshka Retrospectively, it would of been better if it just repeated the current step. Thank you.
@danibeve Try the download, the web version may take a while to load.
Reminded me of keep talking and nobody explodes. Very fun game, the addition of the radio frequency helped add a lot of tension. However, it was a bit clunky, in particular moving speech along, it would have been nice to maybe scroll through recieved messages or allow the player to speed up them coming in?
Either way, I enjoyed the tension and overall vibe. Great work!
I couldn't beat it but it was cool and genuinely captured a stressful feeling having to wait for the text messages and having them be corrupted. Great Idea!
I think a missed opportunity here is allowing the instructions prompter to display text while not being focused. right now the only way to receive instructions is to actively spend time waiting for them to appear, which feels a little frustrating. I also noticed the radio signal mechanic behaves somewhat strangely, on one attempt I corrected the signal only to have it immediately break again before I could even reach the instruction panel again, which compounds with the previous issue where the radio doesn't work long enough for the full instructions to display.
I like the single player twist on keep talking and nobody explodes though :3
@hi-im-greg Thanks for the feedback, I definitely think the dialouge system could of been improved.
@xaklor Thank you, Originally I had the dialouge always on screen, but I thought that would make the game too easy as you would always have access to the instructions. I definetly do think the dialogue system could have been improved however.
The game reminded me of Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes, but for solo play :)
Overall, the idea is cool, but the tutorial has a bit too much text, and it appears quite slowly while the timer is running. Because of that, itโs not very tempting to replay โ you just want to jump back in and try again ๐
I do love my puzzle games. Cool idea! If the corruption was fixed on the screen retroactively, this would have been a smash hit with me! Unfortunately, as it is it's like a game of wack-a-mole trying to get a specific message while the signal is behaving. Such a good idea though!
