I haven't played flappy bird, so this game is unusual and challenging for me. I've made several attempts. My best score: 18
Classic Nice interpretation

That was fun! You captured the unpredictability of what lies ahead, and also at the same time that it was safe to go ahead. Also loved the idea of blooming signals via varying light oscillations - adds to the juice of this game. Will see if I can use that idea for my game too!
If you ever plan to extend this and make it a full fledged game, I found a few ideas pop up while playing: - What if the bat could glide up when the mouse is held down? - What if - after a few lucky escapes; the bat grew an armor and break through a few barriers (while armor lasted)? - What if there were other bats perched up/down and their eyes flickered or they signal to player bat "INCOMING!!"?
Great feel to the game!
This was fun, I loved the adorable bat and the fact that I couldn't see very far ahead, made me enjoy the game even more. Great job, will definitely return to play again and beat my best score (only 54 :c) ♥
First of all, I was attracted to the game cover and simple title; and I do love the visuals. The background looks like it's jaws of a giant monster, and we are avoiding the teeth. It gives a great feeling and atmosphere!
The sprite of the bat is cute and is clearly visible, contrasting with the background. The gameplay is immediately understandable, very intuitive.
I think it would be great to play a game like this with a controller. It has reminded me of one of my fav platformer games, Walk in the Dark ^v^
The concept with the limited light and light slowly appearing makes the game more unique and challenging, as well. My finger gets tired from clicking, I admit xD
The sounds are not my favourite part, I think you could play around with those more. But ofc you were more focused on gameplay, just if you continue working on the game, it would be nice to make the sounds more satisfying, as they get old very fast and make you want to play w/o sound.
Overall though - a very good entry, in my opinion! Love the artistic design ^v^
Since you toughed it out on my tough game, I was determined to post a new high score here, and, well...

This game is fun! And it shares a lot in common with a previous LD game of mine also called Echo, if you can believe it. :)
It's a pretty simple game to implement, in my opinion. The mechanics could use a gradual increase in difficulty.
A pleasant game with a clear and familiar mechanic. It’s very nicely presented — perfect for a jam! Thanks!
