I think the game was visually impressive, especially for the time constraints of the jam. I especially liked the 2D art. The audio fit the theme you were going for.

I thought the visual implementation of the echolocation was well done. It was intuitive and clear what was happening when you used it. That said, I wish the mechanic was used to create more interesting gameplay. It felt like it was mostly used for hidden mazes and finding hidden items, and at times it became a bit tedious having to echolocate just to walk around some boxes.

I did not care for the combat, as it felt entirely up to RNG whether I won or not.

Overall, it’s a really solid foundation with a cool core idea, and I could see it becoming something really great with a bit more iteration.

The 2D and 3D art are both amazing!

Thanks, @beastpanda ! We’re really happy with the overall art and sound design of the game.

As you mentioned, the echolocation mechanic is mainly meant to help you navigate and find lost objects—we didn’t really explore it further due to the limited time we had during the jam.

From here on there are some spoilers, so don’t read ahead if you’re planning to play!

The combat is a bit RNG-based, but there are some advantages. If you get a certain item, you gain a bonus on the dice roll, and the decisions you make in each room will affect how much health you have when you reach combat. So your chances improve depending on how you’ve played.

That’s where it connects a bit with the board game idea, mixed with some RPG-style decision-making or visual novel elements.

Thanks for your feedback!

Graphics were great, would have been nice if the echolocation did more. I feel I could see pretty much everything in the environment without it. Unless there is some niche to it that I never stumbled across like finding hidden items.

I did enjoy playing it, in fact I played through twice as I lost the fight at the end the first playthrough. However, I would have liked to have a use for mana and I found a sword that didn't actually help in the final fight. The physical dice was cool in the fight, but it did feel as though the entire game basically wound up as a coin toss towards the end.

The story was cool and the mood was great. I enjoyed it, would have loved to see more.

No way, I also made my game on UE5 and it's all about Echoes too! We are officially Unreal Echo Bros now. I definitely caught some D&D vibes while playing, and man, this could turn into a legendary vampire RPG. Awesome work!

I actually had a very similar idea with echolocation for my game. It's always cool to see someone else's take on an idea  I really liked the hand-draw character illustrations and the music in this one. It's very fitting for the vampire theme. It gives off the vibe of an old Castlevania game which I really enjoy. I think the echolocation feature was implemented quite nicely on a visual level, but I think it could have been incorporated a bit more in the actual gameplay. The combat was a surprise to me since I didn't expect to be fighting all of a sudden. Unfortunately I lost in the end. It was a bit frustrating since I felt like I there wasn't much I could do given the dice-rolling RNG mechanic. Still a very nice entry. Well done!

@shlolo Thanks for your response!

The truth is that the mechanic is really only useful for finding a chest (which gives you +1 to your die in battle) and for that small crate maze where it’s introduced. In the end, jam time is limited and we just barely managed to submit.

The combat decision, even though it’s RNG-based, can actually be influenced by earlier choices if you pick the ones where you don’t lose health or you heal!

Cool entry, especially like the 2D Art. Soundtrack is a bit repetitive but it fits the mood. And who doesnt like vampires, lets be honest ;-)

I think it's a really cool idea. The mechanics are implemented well. By the end of victory, I wished there are more content. Anyway, good job!

I really like the 2d arts! The story in pretty interesting. I think I'll play this game again later to try another choices. I also enjoyed the atmosphere very much. The finale was a little unexpected but idea is cool.

lev-ramburg 2026-05-04 13:18

really liked the 2D art

The art and music? Chef's kiss!

I love how the narrative about a blind vampire who relies on echolocation is used. The location itself also conveys the atmosphere of blindness really well.

The visual language chosen for the enemies is amazing and incredibly cool.

It's a questionable the final battle was dice-based and I couldn't influence it, only rely on luck !but! that's okay. For a couple of days of work, the whole game is great. You even added camera behavior!! I'm thrilled.
