LD59 — Signal

Signal Epsilon by automatonvx 2026-04-30T01:19:53Z

i really liked the atmosphere! the music and the look of the game created a great unsettling feeling and i liked the vibe created by the kinda hazy shader you overlaid on the camera, especially with the low poly graphics. one small thing with the signal indicator is i didn't quite understand it was for the horizontal plane at first, so i ended up just staring at the sky like an idiot for a bit. i think putting it on some kind of compass bar might make it feel more intuitive. overall enjoyed it a lot!

Celestial Bodies by rynti 2026-04-23T20:03:11Z

fun! concept was funny but still matched the theme quite well, the progression loop felt good, it felt quite satisfying to get every planet hooked up to the network. it would have been nice to have some more end game upgrades since i was floating a lot of cash by the end. overall very good!

Footsypool by Antti Haavikko 2026-04-28T04:45:19Z

quite fun! very impressive for only 48 hours

Dark Sigils by Artur Hawkwing 2026-05-01T21:06:05Z

i think it's a very cool idea, the lore inscriptions on the glyph tablets was intriguing, i liked the music but it did start to wear on me after a couple loops (i think quite fixable with another phrase for some more variety).

i think if you kept working on this it could be really good! already given the time constraints it's quite impressive, but i think for a game like this to be really good you need a lot of quality of life improvements.

starting with having to work on translating both elvish and demonic right out of the gate i think is a bit too much of a difficulty spike from the beginning. to be honest i lightly rage quit the game. i had just invested quite a bit of time learning a bunch of elvish and then realized that both of the next doors were in demonic and i was frustrated for having just spent a bunch of time writing elvish. i think starting with just one language for a couple puzzles and then introducing the next would feel slightly smoother.

another huge improvement (beyond the scope of a game jam) would be having a way to in-game record the translations you think you know and then showing them in context, and when trying the doors let the player edit character by character. i found it frustrating to have to retype the entire word each time especially when i was confident i knew what certain characters later in the word were.

overall, like i said, i think this can be something really good!

Signal Scrubber by Steven Garberg 2026-04-23T18:00:32Z

short and sweet! i liked the music a lot and all the descrambling interactions felt very intuitive. with a story throughline i think this would be really solid!

cute and relaxing walking sim

Sieze the Means of Production by amirrajan 2026-04-23T01:19:52Z

quite fun! i enjoyed the balancing act of managing artillery miners and medics. the npc lines action dialogue lines were a nice touch and i also liked how after my army got wiped the prices reset so you can rebuild. the mines were a little frustrating at times, i'd send out scouts to try and trip them but sometimes my stupid miners would run right into the explosion after it was triggered.

The Hunt for Red April by XeduR 2026-04-28T03:47:36Z

loved it! i found it quite compelling to try again and again, despite the difficulty. i agree that a bit more grace through lives or hull health would add a lot to the experience as i did eventually give up on trying to sink the carrier.

Signal Out of Space by Aleksey Salion 2026-04-28T04:20:45Z

love the aesthetic and the feel, i'm interested to play the post jam version to finish the story. the gameplay is a bit unfamiliar at first but you can figure it out without much difficulty.

Forlornicon - Shoopert's Weird Dream by Trexxak 2026-04-28T04:09:41Z

pretty creepy between the art, the sound, the masks, and the camera perspective. i didn't really understand what to do or why i was doing it but it was quite intriguing.

Gacha Clicker Defence by Kujoen 2026-04-30T01:58:11Z

jinx! i also made a clicker game about a crashlanded astronaut! yours has a lot more depth than mine, admittedly.

it was a little confusing at first but after figuring out the mechanics it was quite fun. really satisfying to get super upgraded drones and turrets from the lootboxes and just watch numbers start to shoot way up.

i found the way that buildings get built as soon as you let go a little finnicky at first, but i see the logic behind it when i need to spam a bunch of towers and turrets. maybe with press to enter build mode and click to place exactly where you want it might feel better.

also the 'add to network' button on the towers for 1k copper didn't seem to work for me (and i wasn't sure what it would do but i assume would make the resources immediately available everywhere?)

overall really really good, actually i think i might go play it again!

PAIN SIGNAL by sqqqwer 2026-04-21T05:38:01Z

i liked the premise, trying to figure out how to keep the engine running with only indirect measures, but i couldn't work out how to get more fuel, water, etc. which felt limiting

Robo Phone Home by Pastry chef 2026-04-24T18:52:10Z

the idea is very clever, the art is really good, and i quite liked the music as well. overall very good!

Mayday - Keep the signal alive by UnrestStudio 2026-04-30T01:01:46Z

the pixel art was very good, especially the waves! though if i were to be a bit nitpicky the uneven scaling of the pixels across the sprites bothered me, but obviously i understand that the time constraints make it hard to get everything to feel seamless. good work!

Keep a stable connection by Pentagrammal 2026-04-23T19:46:15Z

nice and fun simple little typing game! the difficulty progression felt good, could do with a bit more flair but the core is very solid

SAVE OUR SOULS by steinhks 2026-04-21T21:07:22Z

enjoyed this a lot! from the moment i saw QBZ as an option i was excited for when it would come up and it hit really well, hope ya'll do more and also +1 for having an option to speed up dialog.

Oops! Too Many Signals! by TBK_David 2026-04-21T20:14:00Z

quite fun and challenging! as others have said would benefit from slightly more progressive scaling and disabling unfair spawns e.g. 2->5 shouldn't spawn when 5->2 is already running since on most tracks there isn't a way to divert one, but there was something interesting about having to race to intentionally crash one of the trains so that the other could make it through (maybe if you have little safety circular tracks around you can divert into).
