Now THAT is a unique concept for a game! What even made you think of it?! The little "post mortems" (hmm, wait they should be for the people you sacrificed... "post livums?) were a surreal, fantastic touch. Unfortunately for the people of Catastrocity, my nerd pop-culture skills were not so hot!

kaipi 2018-12-08 19:32

@mrspeaker thanks so much for you comment!, we where thinking on what a sacrifice really means and how can we take that into a game, we are really glad you liked it!, sorry for the late response :)

cloakedninjas 2018-12-08 20:50

Fairly certain the son of Kratos is just called "Boy..." :D

egawag 2018-12-08 20:55

That was very cool! Sadly, super geek was not very smart and only saved 3 :(.

kaipi 2018-12-08 21:08

@cloakedninjas I was thinking od adding "Boy" as an option XD It would have being a bit more tricky!

kaipi 2018-12-08 21:10

@egawag Im glad you liked it!, at least you managed to save someone xD!

zgragselus 2018-12-08 21:38

I'm glad I found that I'm morally right person - saving animals and porn-actresses was indeed a top priority (even though I didn't know who they're). Who cares about some religious leaders and human right activists when you can save a cat?! Like seriously! :dog:

Fun aside, I enjoyed it - the concept of being able to save just some and not all is something I like. It brought similar mood to when I was deciding whom to save (or let die) in Wasteland 2.

Good job!

shubart 2018-12-08 21:39

I really enjoyed your game. It can be improved with a slower scrolling at the end. I didn't have enought time to read all. Thnak you

kaipi 2018-12-08 21:51

@zgragselus We wanted to make the feel that the choices you made really mattered, I believe we succeed on that!, Im really glad you enjoyed it :dog: thanks for playing and rating!

kaipi 2018-12-08 21:51

@shubart thanks for the feedback! we will take care on that on a next version!,thanks for playing and rating :D!

sebastian-m 2018-12-08 21:55

Really interesting concept, it was really fun for me. It was a weird take on the theme but a valid one.

I encounter an issue where the game got stuck after I select the people I wanted to save. The game didn't continue after I save all the people I could.

Overall a really fun game and a very good entry. Great job!!!

wan 2018-12-08 22:31

Oooh a quizz game, that's a nice change! The way sacrifices where inserted in the game was on point and pretty funny. It felt like a lottery of sorts but it suited the Mr Geek concept and the theme so I didn't mind.

Too bad the post mortems passed by so fast though, I could not read them all.

Great work on the graphics, and in particular the character art!

doomshmuck 2018-12-09 01:49

Nicely done! Very original with good graphics and sound, I loved it. One of the better ones I've played this time around. The questions in the second round were pretty tough! And some of those post-fire stories hit the feels.

dangerousfat 2018-12-09 06:20

Interesting concept. I'm impressed by your blending of trivia into actual gameplay mechanics. Well done!

archimagus 2018-12-09 06:36

Neat game. The trivia was pretty fun. An audio slider is really needed. The volume was way loud, which normally I could just turn down, but I was chatting while playing.

emperor-eagle 2018-12-09 06:52

Outstanding game! Very well made and great fun to play. The graphics are amazing and the concept is cool. It feels like a completed game with great insight into the characters backgrounds and futures as well as having clean and effective graphics and animations. I really enjoyed it! 10/10

sillyman987 2018-12-09 10:36

Pretty good

kaipi 2018-12-09 14:47

@sebastian-m Thanks for you comments!, the bug triggers when the game is on full screen.

kaipi 2018-12-09 14:51

@wan Thanks for your comments!, we are going to make a 1.1 version where the credits scroll down slower, we are glad you liked it!

kaipi 2018-12-09 14:53

@doomshmuck thanks! we wanted to make something different and bring the sacrifice part to highlight!

kaipi 2018-12-09 14:56

@dangerousfat Thanks! it was fun to make!

kaipi 2018-12-09 15:04

@archimagus Thanks for your comments! also thanks very much for the feedback we did not consider the audio slider at all, we will try to make one or at least a mute button for the next version.

kaipi 2018-12-09 15:09

@emperor-eagle Thanks very much for your comments, made my day!,we are really glad that you enjoyed and liked it :D we are thinking of making a post-mortem version of the game with another link outside the ludum dare with another stage and some of the feedback applied n__n!

sargonius 2018-12-10 06:04

Amazing concept! I really enjoyed it, thanks!

rodrigo-denubila 2018-12-10 11:52

Really nice idea! It's an unique concept, and well done. Good job!

peterfonts 2018-12-10 12:46

Good game mixing quiz game and choices to save people! Maybe there are some things that can be improved: - In the score results section, could be nice to have an option to move the screen up and down, sometimes I don't have time to read all the results! - There is no end depending on the player score! I think is a good motivation to replay again and see different endings! - Adding an extra skill or bonus (for example, you can earn this skill if you answer correctly 3 answers in less than 10 seconds), this extra skill is like x-rays power that the player can see a part of people that you will save who is good or not... Anyway, is a great game! Congrats!

prodigalson 2018-12-10 12:49

Wow! Finally, a "chose who gets to be saved" game where I feel like my choices do matter and they have an impact. I like the idea of testing my knowledge in order to grant me access to how many citizens I can save. The little hints about who this people are really add to the moral dilemma of whom to save. Plus the story after the fact, very nice touch. I quite enjoyed this. Thanks for making and for making not about having to give up some sort of blood sacrifice :D

kaipi 2018-12-10 16:14

@sargonius @rodrigo-denubila Thanks very much for playing the game!, we are glad you liked it!

kaipi 2018-12-10 19:58

@peterfonts Thanks so much for your feedback, we where thinking on slowing down the results, the scroll bar sounds really good as well, we will try with both and see which one works better ;D on the other feedback we will consider it if we keep developing the game, thanks for the ideas they are great!

kaipi 2018-12-10 20:12

@prodigalson thanks so much for your feedback! we did wanted to make something different from the actual sacrifice as ritual of blood xD we loved that you liked it! thanks for playing!

sandpile 2018-12-11 09:57

A fun little game. I've yet to play a quiz game on ludum dare, so it was not expected. If you don't save the cats, you're a meanie!

alleskapaul 2018-12-18 20:51

Nice game to play with a unique concept.

agwblack 2018-12-18 21:13

It was fun to do a quiz, but the bit with saving people felt pretty random. But it was fun reading the stories of what happened. Nice work :-)

kaipi 2018-12-20 19:14

@alleskapaul @agwblack thanks for playing!

shujal 2018-12-20 22:05

I like the idea of having to choose some people over the others and seeing the consequences. However, I don't really like the quiz mechanic, which felt disconnected with the rest of the game.

neowhoru 2018-12-21 14:49

nice game idea and pretty good graphics.

acaral 2018-12-23 02:34

The notion of sacrifice make sense in your entry: I had to make choices in my "inner heart". In any case it's an original concept somewhere between jeopardy and tragedy.
