Fun game, but hard to destroy towers.
Really classic but very pleasing. Good job.
Nice work team. The highlights for me were the weapon feel - the particle physics, sound and camera shake made that gun feel really good.
I like that you had some enemy variation with attack patterns, but for me it was a little too easy to just dodge the enemies, herd them up and let a red guy explode them all. Then I'd have enough ammo to kill the rest and the spawner.
The sacrifice system was cool. The Health one was a little overpowered, and the ammo one wasn't worth it at all. Berserk stuck a nice medium, I think.
Very well done! I really enjoyed the different enemies and learning their patterns, because of the nice difficulty level. But I only used the health regen power up, didn't need the others. And always nice to see a "juicy" game! Screenshake, big bullets, etc. Nice graphics too, but I wish the protagonist was more pixelated, like the rest of the game. Nice work!
Thanks for the feedback @pogo! This is my attempt at making a Vlambeer game so screen shake is critical :sweat_smile: The whole sacrifice system was put together with 2 hours to the deadline so I'm pretty pleased that I managed to get it in at all.
Nice game! But I would like to make several small remarks : - When we stay pressed on the fire input, our character moves in the direction where we are shooting (i don't know if that you want but i just want to tell you) - The ability of unlimited shooting is not very useful because we don't control the shots (I guess it's randomly chosen around the player) and in addition our speed is slowed down. - The animation, like the first ability is awesome ! Great job !
@bendev-games We switched to pixel art half way through Sunday. Erwan managed to create some nice pixel art for the MC but I didn't have time to rewire the character controller! [doug-iddle.png](///raw/eef/z/1f283.png)

Quite a fun game! I love the screenshake. Powerups were a bit useless, but were still a nice addition anyways! I also really like the art, even though the character kind of looked out of place in comparison to the pixel art enemies. Good work, really enjoyed this!
As said above, the health regen is a bit overpowered and the unlimited ammo a bit underpowered. That aside, the game is really cool and I loved the visual effects

It's effective and the power-up system is disturbing (In the good meaning of the term because it's fun).
I'm impressed by this game in that it's fairly complete, everything works as expected, only the win screen is a little underwhelming, it's just a static box with the text "You win!". The theme is also implemented in that every powerup also has a downside, for example by entering berserk mode you also lose part of your vision. All in all a nice and challenging experience.
Great submission! Lots of little "game feel" details, like the camera shake and enemy knockback. Graphics are nice; particularly like the main character and explosion animations.
Biggest area for improvement for me is probably the UI; game over and game win screens could be a bit nicer. That being said, time is always tight in game jams, and these are always the last things I get around to doing...
Well done for team of two in 72 hours!
