Loved the rhythm based gun-play and the graphics! Rock hard to get even the second treasure though, because it's so hard to hit the fast moving enemies. Difficulty balancing might make this game even more enjoyable. Nice job!
I love the graphics, they remind me of hotline miami. Its very hard though, (the same mistake i made with my game) but the game is still fun
@reallyqbert @skvader-418 Thanks a lot for the feedback.
@reallyqbert I have a question, after finding the first treasure, did you press E to use it or did you just go to the second one?

Pretty fun until the arena closed and i couldn't move anymore but one enemy was still shooting me to death.
At first i was a little put off by the graphics and the control. I didnt like how the camera moved when aiming and the chromatic aboration stuff with the simple pixelart didnt work for me. But ooh boy, as soon as the shooting started *chefs-kiss*!

Nice concept, but too hard for me !
Liked the game. I think the difficulty was quite right. I couldn't get the rythm part, i was just holding the shoot button, but the sounds are great. I think it would be a huge improvement if you would add some step-sounds so it's not that quiet when moving trough the desert. But anyway, nice game.
I liked your game my congratulations, I also did one if you want to know, and give me your feedback I am very grateful, this is the link https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/47/resurrection

Nice game. I liked the art, the sounds, and the gun tune mechanic. All interesting stuff. I would have played more but two times I encounter a bug where I couldn't move character during a fight and just got shot to death. See gif:

This has so much potential!! I loved the gunplay, the beat is fun, there is good variety to the enemies, the dash is well implemented (although I think it needs some kind of stamina bar, as I would just dash nonstop). The only problem is the ammo is SO LIMITED. When I started going wild and having fun, I would miss a single shot and have to restart the whole thing, such a bummer! But please notify me if you end up changing it. Superb gunplay, well done.
@wrimo @twohands Thanks a lot for reporting this bug, I'll fix it as soon as I can.
@scharma Yeah, stamina bar is a good idea. Increasing the ammo is something I'm thinking as well for the post jam version. But you wouldn't have to restart the whole thing if you run out of bullets, the next time you go near that spot, the enemies will continue from where you left them.

Very good mechanics, it's amazing that there is even a map by level, pretty good sounds, good instructions!

Really cool! I'm bad at keeping rythm but once i got into it, it was really great. very fun, and nicely on theme, good work!
@wrimo @twohands That bug has been fixed. Thanks again for letting me know :)
LoL it took me a minute to figure out im looking down on a cowboy.. I was wtf is this, a snail? Haha.. Good game. The only critique I can give you is the mouse movement / rotation of the player is a little disorienting especially if the cursor is near the player.. Overall good work tho.

Very fun and creative your game. His interpretation of the theme is quite original as well. I hope you will consider making an expanded and complete version of this game. It would be very interesting to play. I liked the experience in general. I found the shooting and movement controls very comfortable, and the mechanics work very well. The shots doing "composing" basically the music are magnificent. Good job.

A good use of the rhythm style. A good interpretation of the LD47 theme.

The rhythm audio was very nice!
Solid gameplay, but the scarce ammo makes it way to hard (like others mentioned). I digged up 3/5 treasures and hoped that one of them would contain a new weapon or another goodie to save ammo, but it was just a health regen bottle and a locked treasure. Pretty disappointing if you consider, that health has no value, since you run out of bullets and respawn before you die.

I really don't know what the rhythm mechanic was supposed to be. My gun felt awkward and unpredictable and I have no idea how it was supposed to correlate with any kind of rhythm. The enemy encounters seemed really hard until I saw the persistent corpses and correctly inferred that the enemies don't loop - anything I kill before resetting stays dead. Since health isn't really a concern, that turns the game into a simple war of attrition, which, with the healing from the bottle, I was guaranteed to win. I was more concerned with aiming and my feeble attempts to not waste shots than avoiding the enemies. The non-linear treasure acquisition is a good structure, but I think it would have worked better with 4 gameplay treasures and then a last act or final boss for players to use all the different abilities. I did have fun playing this, though. Killing enemies felt good and I was really curious about what each treasure would be.
This was a nice entry overall. It felt very complete. However, I feel like either I'm missing something about the rhythm mechanic, or the rhythm mechanic itself is missing something. It felt a little bit superficial, like paying attention to the beat didn't really help me to beat the game (no pun intended). It was innovative though, and I did really like how all the guns came together to make a little song, that was cool.
I only played it twice and the water was always in the first place I looked. Is that on purpose or just a coincidence? If it was on purpose, that was a good design decision. I also liked how instead of showing a dot for the player on the map, you made an ACTUAL map, with landmarks that matched the landmarks in the level. That was really cool (though I can imagine it might frustrate some players).
Overall, I liked it. Good job!

Very cool game, you seem to put in a lot of stuff in one project. There's story, there's looping, there's arenas, music and even rhythm. Good job :D
