The links don't work?
The html5 link dosent work.
404 not found.. sorry
Check to see if you've hit publish, I've done that a few times!
I want to play! The screenshot looks great!
I want to play but the link doesn’t work!
Links still not working :( I'd love to try it!
The link doesnt seem to be working. Ill be waiting for when you fix it, let me know :)
Sorry & thanks everybody for letting me know! Lot's of new things going on for me here, including itch.io. Found the publish button, should be accessible now at https://nyuuubi.itch.io/stuck-in-the-loop-dungeon Thx!
I love storytelling in this game, but i think u should add some pauses between attacks, because i just spamming attack button and it becomes a bit boring. Overall, very cool style and project at all!
I really like the intro and the art for this game. However, it could really use at least sound effects and music would be a good addition too. Also, there’s no way to tell if you got hit or not and how many lives you have, so that’s something to keep in mind for the future is making sure you don’t slack on the UI or explicity telling the player actions that are occurring. Overall, very cool and nice job !
Great art and overall feel in this game. I could use a bit more feedback on when you get hit and when you kill an enemy (sound/animation). I loved the story :heartbeat: . Cool use of the theme
I liked the unique art style in your game!
@adil thanks, much appreciated! I still have a few story ideas, as I totally miscalculated the scope of what I can bring into the game during the jam. I plan to continue development, hopefully I can bring them in then. Same goes for a better melee attack routine.
@snowinn Many thanks as well for your feedback! And yes, absolutely. I had a few ideas on how to do sound & music + UI, as they are fundamental in my opinion too. Yet... "unexperienced dev at work" ;) I simply mismanaged what I could accomplish within the 72h. Looking forward to give it another shot next time :v:
@asemic: Thank you, that means a lot to me. I hope I can further develop story & feel to make it a proper immersive thing :) Same goes with sound & animation, definitely have those on my list!
@joonamo: Thank you as well, hope I can develop it a bit more!
Congrats on your first jam! The art style is really cute, keep jamming you have potential! :)
Well done, especially for a first jam! You made the scribble art style work for you.
I don't think the health bar works? It never looked like it was going down, and then I died.
Children style crayon artwork looks unique and in this case works but I thing the fluidity of the movement and the lack of sounds brings it down. Also a healthbar would have been nice.
@clemonades Thank you so much, I will! I enjoy the whole experience and playing games like "Altered Nexus" is a great motivation :)
@coda-highland: Thank you very much as well! Yes, health bar.... there is none 😬😉😆 UI was on my list of fundamentals, I hope I get around to it next time.
@tauheed-game-dev: Thank you! I will definitively work on animations (and particles for that matter), character controls and UI next time. There just wasn't any time. I'm amazed at how well so many contributors managed the scope of their games. I aspire to do so, too... someday ;)
The link works for me. Well done for your concept ! I expected a bit more mechanics because I just spammed the space bar. It could be more dynamic on that with a basic "particle", then be able to use our shield with an other key would be awesome ;) Otherwise it's nice !
Really good for a first try! As others mentioned, some sounds would be nice, along with something the displays your current life
I liked the concept and the intro was a neat addition. I agree with others that a second/third mechanic would have been nice to avoid one-button-spamming... Also, some indication on screen (like HPs for example) could have made the game feel more polished; the same applies for some background music and sfx for hits/kills. All in all, it's still cool and the art style is simple but enjoyable. Good job!
very good entry! a UI with health and current loop would have been nice, and sound...
sometimes, it's not very clear if the enemy disappeared because I touched it or because I hit it with the sword. Or when they appear below. And sometimes they appeared right on top of me, without a chance to hit them
Art looks great! It´s hard to tell did I beat the monster or did it hit me. healthbar would help
Congrats on your first jam! The art style is cool and unique :)
In my opinion it lacks of feedbacks on what you're doing (enemy deaths, current loop, health, sounds...) but it is normal for a jam game!
The art definitely has charm, nice work completing your first jam - you should be proud! For some crit: as other have said, a bit more feedback on what's happening with attacks would be helpful. It would also improve the experience a lot if you didn't have to play through the whole intro again after dying.
@sharked: Thanks! I plan to continue working/learning with this game, then I'll look into creating proper melee mechanics (the shield button is a great idea!) + particles/more feedback
@cookie-chr: Thank you, too! Yes, definitively: sound + healthbar/more UI!
@nablaz: Thank you very much for playing and your feedback! Melee controls, UI (HP and/or healthbar), bg music & sfx are on the list :)
@vleue: Thanks to you as well. The "current loop" idea is great, I will consider it for UI development, as well as proper particles/UI to know what happened. I think I also should reconsider the spawn points... simplest solution might be: enemies should probably spawn of screen to prevent them from appearing on top of the player
@monninen: Thank you :) UI will be sth I'll work on next time a lot sooner (never got around to it this time)
@flazone: Much appreciated!!! I'll try to further develop the art; it's basically sketchnoted, which I like as well. But I think I can learn a lot more there as well and it's really fun to scribble around ;)
@graebor: Thank you very much, it's still a bit surreal that I managed to commit something. At the same time I realise I have managed that bit so I can focus on basic things to make a game next time: controls + feedback on attacks/UI + sound.Looking forward to it!
There is something artisanal in the conception that i like. When I was playing, I was thinking it could be a mechanic of a room in Zelda. Not tell me why i don't know  In all cases it fits with the thematic, well done.
Thanks for that feedback, @acaral! "mechanic of a room in Zelda"... I like that association, I'll let that sink in :)
It's a MOEBIUS DUNGEON!
Great intro, and clean graphics I like the style(s). I got some trouble to understand hit. I had doubt about hit or being hit until I died :-D
@asfdfdfd: It is!
@davidb: Thank you! I'll look into developing it further, style as well as melee controls
Well done! Great drawings.
@meatball: Thanks!
Thanks everybody for playing the game & leaving valuable feedback, much appreciated! I'm looking forward to reiterate through some aspects of this game, maybe I'll manage to create an improved post jam version, we'll see. Definitively looking forward to the next jam and applying the things I learned here. Bye for now :)
Loved the art style and the story :) Unluckily there was some ghosting when moving the character :-(
@davidemoriello: Thank you & thanks for the remark. Is there anything in particular I could look into to prevent this from happening?
