Very good job, the concept is not new (the Lemmings-like game is what more fit into the theme for this jam) but is very well done. The graphics are very nice, and the sounds and music set the mood very well. Good job!

acoto87 2018-12-03 06:13

Very good! 😁 Capture.PNG

christian-pickett 2018-12-03 07:01

Great job. Awesome art and music, and the gameplay is fun. Also the theme fits pretty well too.

dunin 2018-12-03 10:50

Awesome remake of Lemmings, with much less stress than the original, it's perfect!

(and the "risk of rain" music style give a really good mood...)

timeshapers 2018-12-03 21:08

Nice style. Don't have much feedback to give as it's a remake of a known game. It works.

valden 2018-12-03 21:21

Nicely done, good level design and mechanics !

01fe7e 2018-12-03 21:24

The levels get a bit repetitive after all mechanics are introduced. The graphics are great and the game feels polished.

andygates01 2018-12-03 22:38

Really nice, simple art style and clever level design. Good job!

bungus-productions 2018-12-04 04:04

I think this is one of the most fun games i've seen in this LD so far. Nice work!

rk3omega 2018-12-04 04:17

Great game! It's fun and I love your brick tiles. 3rd level wasn't tutorialized well imo. I think with this kind of game, it'd be nice to be able to easily see what you have to do when you're first introduced to a new mechanic, if that makes since. That level was too complex for not knowing what the blob was going to do, it would've fit well aftewards. To introduce the jumping blob, I think it'd be nice to just have it jump over a couple simple straight forward pits.

saucygames 2018-12-04 06:13

The feels when you spam the spawn button and watch all the blobs slime off into the abyss

joqlepecheur 2018-12-04 09:36

@rk3omega I could indeed have started our with an easier jump. I invested more than 2 hours of compo time just on those bricks, I'm glad it paid out ;)

@bungus-productions thanks, I wanted to deliver a game to provide a fun break. I put a big hitbox on cursor to make it easier and gave some leeway to allow mistakes.

@01fe7e There are 4 levels where you don't get a new power or use an existing one in a new way: 5, 10, 11, 12. I guess I could have added another one to spice things up, but I finished really close to deadline.

Thanks, @saucygames ! I really wanted players to explore at their pace, then unleash the blobs at the end :)

@acoto87 I am glad you enjoyed it!

fenderbate 2018-12-04 13:08

nice game too bad it's a Lemmings clone

joqlepecheur 2018-12-04 13:30

@fenderbate Hi there, you are now the third person mentionning this as a "but" as if it was a bad thing. I feel it is a bit unfair so I think I have to adress that ;)

When people make a platformer or a shoot them up, nobody ever says "oh a mario clone" or cookie clicker clone or doom clone etc. I believe this is because the genres are now so common that people focus on the small differences that make a title unique. It's a bit of a paradox, but the fact that the game is called out as a clone I think is because in fact there aren't that much lemmings-like games. So instead of focusing on the similarities, look at the differences and perhaps you will come to see how I have tried to fit it into the theme and make it more accessible, it's not that simple :)

arzi 2018-12-04 14:41

Very Lemmings, which is not a bad thing, as Lemmings would have actually fit the theme too. Sure not the most innovative gameplay, but I actually haven't seen any other Lemmings type games so far in this LD. The execution was top notch in my opinion and even the difficulty curve felt good (which is rare in LD games).

Overall, a very solid game!

andreb 2018-12-04 14:57

I have to say so far this has been one of the best games i have played! I left the game wanting to play more of it.

The only thing i really did not like was that i missed a bit when clicking on a blob to morph them into a particular turret or jump pad.

Perhaps an outline around the blob your hovering the mouse over could help.

But overall great entry!

joqlepecheur 2018-12-04 15:09

@arzi thanks! I didn't design lots of graphics, so that left some time to think on the levels.

@andreb the outline is a great idea, not sure why I didn't think of it :) I guess I will also adjust a tiny bit to expand clic area on blobs

myrrhe 2018-12-04 17:18

Cool little game ! Graphics and musics are nice, levels are pretty balanced.

The only things that are maybe lacking are a lack of difference from the original lemming game, and a pause button (to not be obligated to clicks on blobs while they are on the move).

But otherwise, this is a really cool entry that fit the theme and is intuitive to play. Good job !

kerdelos 2018-12-04 19:58

This is truly an excellent entry, everything is great and well polished, the level design is interesting and grows more and more challenging. I don't know what to add, amazing work !

exilegl 2018-12-04 20:56

Cool stuff! Reminds me of lemmings. I found placing the rock/wall on level 2 a little tricky (thought I could just place it anywhere at first/didn't require a blob there when placing), but got it after a bit and won the level.

joqlepecheur 2018-12-04 22:30

@exilegl Oh yeah! I will add one more block for more leeway after jam, thanks for bringing it up. There is no point in putting difficulty of execution right of the bat ;)

arity 2018-12-06 07:26

Very awesome, and well executed! One criticism: the iconography for the powerups (looking at turret, jumper, and block) could be better. Also maybe needs a tiny tutorial about how to apply said powerups - i f-ed up my first few trys. I see a lot of potential in this game for many interesting puzzles. Well done. :)

planschi 2018-12-06 21:15

Awesome game! How awesome that you can make such a polished game in so few hours these days! Only one thing: I feel it is a "bug" that you cant convert the blobs when you send them all out! (0 blobs to spawn but there are some still walking and you cant change them to a wall for example)

joqlepecheur 2018-12-08 14:23

Thanks @planschi!

It is not a bug but intended design: spawning a blob cost 1 point, and using power cost 2-4 points. So if you spend every point to spawn blobs, you can't use powers. So to use powers, players have to "sacrifice" blob points that could have been more blobs.

My "secret" for a polished game with little time is to have as little assets as possible ;)

rongo-matane 2018-12-09 23:13

Perfect game! There are too few lemming games and you managed to make it still feel fresh. Great work, especially as compo entry.

geckoo1337 2018-12-13 16:35

My favorite so far. This is a great puzzle game which is really well done. Aesthetic is cute and all mechanics are smoothy. You managed the theme as best as possible. There is many features for a little game which has been created in less than 2 days. Impressive work. Addictive - well done - you did for us a solid entry. You deserve more ratings. Sincerely I thank you. I wish you the best developing this project ++

nekonyo 2018-12-15 19:06

Nice puzzles and levels 😁

saoi-games 2018-12-17 04:59

I like the puzzles and how you are altering the state of the blobs to help you solve the puzzle. Very well designed.

blubberquark 2018-12-19 12:11

Lemmings is a straightforward take on the theme, but very well executed! In terms of innovation, Lemmings already exists, but otherwise, nice! (I think I cheesed level 7)

matank 2018-12-24 06:13

Awesome game! Level 7 was the hardest for me. The game was very fun for me and the level design was awesome. I found the last level a bit easier than I expected, but it was a great finale to the game.

acaral 2018-12-25 18:51

A polished Lemmings-like. Really pleasant and interesting.
