The think that I most like is the game art and the character designs. Making several enemies and a good player really helps. Also the fact that you don't start from the beggining when you die is helpful. The theme of sacrificing isn't as accomplished as other games in the jam, though you sacrifice your ability.

For some kind of feedback, maybe not allowing the player to always use the shield and have some lives would have ended in a more interesting gameplay.

Also the effect when your mother talks is a little like Undertale. However the story isn't that interesting but it's a good one. One thing I didn't like is that when Zomborgs get you, the ships keep facing the same way

A very good game. First ludum dare I play this time that is multiplayer. It's a interesting strategy game where there is a lot going on. My main concern is that you can sabbotage your oponent so much that a duel can get very very long. Even so I have never seen a game with this mechanics and I loved it ๐Ÿ˜. At the beggining it was hard to understnd the game about what's the water and how to know I got it. But most problems are small fixes so overall I give this game 4.5 stars

That warning when downloading the zip did not come in any other Ludum Dare ๐Ÿค”. At the end I ignored the warning and donwloaded it. I don't think there will be a virus inside of it . After playing it, I am disappointed ๐Ÿ˜ž od dying because I try to get to other island which is too far away. Or get your sailors don't know how to repair the ship and you die. It was really a paltry experience, I mean parltry is what's written at the end. The story mechanics could be a lot better than this. It looks unfinishes everywhere, fonts are like default and is hard to read in a game which you only have to read. The same events happen one after another. It is good to distribute the spawn points but the most fun is to find a small path every short amount of time to run away from the enemies running for you. I didn't need to go to that part of the map until the very ending for taking a screenshot of a horde. So, maybe, I would like myself to see the horde of 10 cubes coming from a lot of directions instead of a coalition of them together, it doesn't have to be a continous stream, it could be waves distributed around the map so you don't have an easy escape.

About difficulity the default weapon is enough for getting rid of your enemies. So maybe changing the % of convertion and weakening one the default weapon in favour of the second weapon will be great, you sacrifice a lot of health that you may or not recover. Therefore it makes sense to balance it that way.

This game is yours and you should decide how to balance it. It isn't the most original game but I keep seeing amazing new popular games of shooting like a game about cubes (actually I have never played it). So maybe you get some inspiration on those games

I think I saw this game posted while I was doing the ludum dare. Now that I see it I wanted to play it. The game is exactly achieves the theme "Sacrifices must be made" perfectly. I didn't play to the end because I got stuck some times and I'm running out of time. Even so it's so fun and frustating to not be able to keep going because your dead is there. The art is simple but awesome, I love the effect the player has when moving. However I don't like the music is a little too short. I'm not a musician too but at least I'm trying to achieve 1 minute songs. Between the two songs the intro was a lot worse and that wanted me to skip it.

Even so, I give you around 4 starts because is the first game I play which uses the theme perfectly. Also next time try to upload a cover image to ludum dare to recognise it

It looks cool. But the game is pretty relaxing for both endings to need to spend a long time going over the goal. And it isn't hard to reach it with some time even upgrades won't be needed for reaching the goal. Is hard to die due to the asteroids and I find weird the way most objects pop at the same time from time to time. So it was a cool game but it wasn't so fun. Maybe some kind of enemy when you are getting close the goal or some kind of increasingly hardness would be greater. That way improvements should really be needed. At least I liked what you tried to achieve. Keep working like that (-:

The idea it is good and everything is worked right: music, graphics, etc. My main concern is mechanics. I mean, I only could reach 17th wave and I wasn't able to go very far. Even so I spent my efforts on food with two farms (+40 food) and I was able to hold until that wave running very slowly of food and recruiting everyone. Also some minor bugs or mispelling as it says daemons, spent is in past when every verb is in present or when you build buildings. The prizes aren't updated. So it doesn't cost what it says. ๐Ÿ˜…

I forgot to add the visual feedback like of substrating some alpha to the other pieces when you move 1. A simple but effective way to know that there is no collider when you are moving those pieces. I have also encountered some problems there the first tries ๐Ÿ˜•

But battles aren't fun. This is also my first Ludum Dare and I think you achieved some results but I will give you some improvements for the future. - export a file with all the files the exe, etc. when I unpack the rar that would be cleaner. - Fix the bug that allows me to run away of the map. - Give a clear goal and a limit of sacrifices you can allow. - Improve the graphics and music.

Even all those improvements that can be made the best of your game is the idea behind the shooter and the particles effect you worked on. At least, it gives some extra feedback ๐Ÿ˜„

@fuzzymelon94 Yeah, when a partner of yours sacrifices, his corpse will support you for a while. At the beggining, they could survive 5 or 10 spikes. But later I took it to only last a moment for having a little of rest. Do you think that the player should be killed automatically? or should it survive some time while switching the player?

The game is fantastic and very fun ๐Ÿ˜Š I went to the end two times and I had to play several times. But I kept engaging until the very end. I like the chaos of hordes and how you defeat them. I give you 5 stars on everything except on fun with 4.5 because it is just shooting hordes and there is little surprise except of the story and spawns, so almost perfect. The pixel art is excellent I love it but I will let it at 4.5 stars because it is a jam and maybe it could be slightly better. Finally it is not the first ludum dare I rate with the same mechanics this year. Due to that reason, the innovation is at 4 starts.

Good work overall rhis games worths 5 starts for me, every detail of the camera, etc. was well accomplished
