LD28 — You Only Get One

Charon by jerombd 2013-12-19T14:21:00

Like this a lot. Short and sweet, made me smile.

Xcape by syawqy 2013-12-19T14:47:00

The hook is a really nice idea.

1837 by fizzhog 2013-12-19T16:01:00

Unfortunate. Don't really see there's anything I can do other than assure you that it's a false positive. All that's in the zip file is the exe file made by Game Maker Studio and the Game Maker source files. Don't use Avast myself. AVG has no problem with it.

1837 by fizzhog 2013-12-19T16:25:00

In case anyone else has the same problem as kristoffer, I've uploaded a version without the source files in case something there was causing the problem. Can't think of anything else to do as I know nothing about such things.

To That Sect by gamesbyangelina 2013-12-19T15:56:00

Fascinating idea. Bookmarked your webpage to explore further.

Spectral Sword by kratorspore 2013-12-19T15:26:00

Very nice. Fun once you start to get the hang of it. Definitely one I'll come back to. Bit much when the first room has too many enemies.

One Arrow Arena by @Micle2000 2013-12-19T15:38:00

I died? To a headless chicken? For that, I salute you. Nice basic concept.

LD35 — Shapeshift

VA DA by Mase 2016-04-21T15:12:00

I'm not sure if this is a charming toy or the nightmare lovechild of Walt Disney and David Lynch. Anyway, I like it.

Spellbound by Almax27 2016-04-21T14:46:00

A good start but needs more variety.

The Combinator by El Cabaro 2016-04-21T00:11:00

Pleasingly bonkers. Liked the graphics and the sound. No way to save?

Kenneth Rice: Vampire Detective by GrooveMan 2016-04-21T12:00:00

Nice work. It all comes together to create a good atmosphere.

Wrestling the RPG by Kate Kligman 2016-04-21T15:22:00

More feedback about results of choices would be nice. Does feel a little too random otherwise.

Fast Dungeon by Andreas Brandt 2016-04-21T15:42:00

Nice graphics. Controls need some tweaking. Theme?

anthropomorphic suspect by dunin 2016-04-20T09:13:00

Very nice jam game. With a little retheming I could see this working well as an educational but fun game for kids on touchscreen devices.

Four Horsemen: Chapter 1 by eott 2016-04-21T12:45:00

Like the tone. Worth developing further. Shapeshifting choices could work well in a game of this sort.

The Monster Armies by qfeys 2016-04-21T13:16:00

Played it for quite a while and I'll definately be playing it more. Very impressive within the timescale. Really like it. Liked the art and sounds too. Only thing was I couldn't really see the jam theme?

Werewolf Airline Simulator 2016 by Pestel Crew 2016-04-21T08:55:00

Very good. Happiness decreases just a bit too fast?

100% Legit Entry by LadyEmaSkye 2016-04-20T23:30:00

Utter filth.

Membrum by Electron 2016-04-21T10:55:00

Like it. Can see myself playing more although I am rubbish at such games. Started getting better when I figured out you need to dance around the big guys. Liked the graphics, intrigued to know what they would have been like without the data loss you mentioned. Sound needs work - music maybe?

Sleeping Kitty! by DieBackStudios 2016-04-21T08:02:00

Like the graphics and sound. Liked the mechanic. Separately. Just didn't work together for me. Very hard. How about a hint about keys on screen that can be toggled off when player is comfortable to do so?

We Don't Know How to Approach You by Drusilla 2016-04-18T16:52:00

Can't run it. Win32. Missing love.dll. Need to include it with your game or at least tell people where to find it. Like the images :)

Morph_rulette by MalyTimi 2016-04-20T20:22:00

Same comments as from others - really nice work on the graphics but randomness on its own just doesn't make for engaging gameplay. Also sound would be good.

Pretend by davor10105 2016-04-18T22:30:00

Excellent. Hard. You didn't want sound?

RhythmicalCreation by lycoris102 2016-04-18T09:03:00

Couldn't run. Error message: The browser could not allocate enough memory for the WebGL content. If you are the developer of this content, try allocating less memory to your WebGL build in the WebGL player settings.

Plato and the 'Caves by qu2 2016-04-21T11:32:00

Liked the gameplay. Will actually play this one more. Liked the music but some of the sounds got a bit wearing. Didn't take to the character sprites - they just didn't fit with the game for me.

Is this a dog? by elghinn 2016-04-20T22:31:00

A bit baffling. Needs more explanation. Couldn't see what the dog's 'actions' achieved. Random spawning on top of dog annoying. But I did keep playing and trying to figure out what was going on because I liked the feel of game. And I liked the sound. Did crash a few times using v1.1 on Windows 7 32-bit. From log file:

Image Shift by mazhem 2016-04-20T23:45:00

Fascinating experiment. Would be interested to see this developed further.

Chameleon Candidate by KappaIX 2016-04-20T22:01:00

Really, really good. And funny. Remarkable to have made this in such a short time. I got elected - by being a totally unprincipled arse ... oh wait ... ah I see what you ...

dungeon of the shapeshifter by Naweed - Benoit by SIN Gaiiden2 2016-04-21T08:13:00

Too hard. Maybe varied difficulty for a baby like me? :) Really would be improved with addition of sound.

Dragon Knight by virtual_void 2016-04-20T16:42:00

I enjoyed this. Fun. Liked the graphics. Probably a bit too easy - I'm pretty bad at reflex based games and I beat it fairly easily. I honestly think it would be worth developing further - more enemy types would be good.

Town by guin36 2016-04-20T16:10:00

Enjoyed this a lot. But then my taste in games is not very mainstream. I look for new experiences and I'm less concerned with gameplay. There is an audience for this sort of game, I'm just not sure that's it's a very large audience:)

LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

Fruit Flinger by Budaniel 2018-12-06T16:18:35Z

Silly fun. Maybe some sort of scoring screen? The audio made me laugh.

God of Fingers (HTML5) by Dining Philosopher 2018-12-08T22:33:54Z

Nice work. Interesting take on the theme. I like the control scheme - once you get the hang of it. Like the graphics too. Some more variety and I could see this being a popular game.

Wrath Of The Gods by AfroAnt 2018-12-04T11:39:19Z

Sorry to be dense but I can't figure out how or where to write the symbols. Please explain the mechanics a bit more clearly. Also if you accidentally drop an item on the book it knocks it out of view. I'm bothering to comment because I really like the idea and look of the game and I want to be able to play it properly.

Wrath Of The Gods by AfroAnt 2018-12-04T16:05:21Z

Okay. I get it now. I had fun. I was terrible at it, the clumsiest shaman in the village's history. I think I'll be coming back to this and playing it again - which is not something you think often when playing games made in short gamejams. I can see that it is a game where you would get better over time. I suppose it's somewhat akin to a game such as Surgeon Simulator or Octodad? With some variety in the gameplay I could imagine this being popular. Only annoyance is the problem I mentioned with the book disappearing. Fun game - thanks for making it.

Cultist of sacrifices by falak 2018-12-05T18:15:17Z

Really enjoyed this. Everything about it appealed to me. At first I thought I hated the sound but that grew on me too as I played. I'd really like to see this one expanded into a bigger game.

Cultist of sacrifices by falak 2018-12-05T18:32:44Z

One thing. For if you are thinking of taking it further. I don't like the title. Loved the game but not the title.

Cultist of sacrifices by falak 2018-12-07T11:48:22Z

Maybe something like junior, beginner, intern, trainee, apprentice, journeyman, etc. in the title? E.g. 'Cult Intern', 'Apprenticed to the Cult', 'Sacrifice for Beginners'. I don't know, it may just be me; other people may like the current title.

Screw them by RAC-Games 2018-12-07T12:27:14Z

Spent so long listening to music on title screen ran out of time to play game - sorry. No, I did play. Impressive achievement in such a short time. Agree that the whirwind is overpowered. Some instructions needed.

On a Cultist hill by Kultisti 2018-12-07T15:48:49Z

Definitely one of my favourites so far. Really nice graphics. Gameplay was good. My only issue was the maze minigame. I can see why you added the minigames but this one didn't work for me. It distracted from the main game more than the sanity clicker one, distracting in a way that lessened the immersion. But overall really nice.

Life Is Hard by BlueMirror 2018-12-08T13:26:07Z

Nice work. A very complete and polished game in a short time. Clever take on the theme. Was I imagining it or were the words and phrases more negative if you got too sleepy?

The Hunt by DUUUUDE 2018-12-04T10:16:47Z

Seems to be some problem with the arrangement of folders within the rar file. Couldn't get it to run after extracting.

The Treachery by Tosunami 2018-12-05T17:18:12Z

Very nice. The most polished game I've played so far; a lot to achieve in a short time. Really liked the graphics.

Switch Accelerator by Nekonyo 2018-12-08T12:55:23Z

Nice. Relaxing. Maybe some collectable items scattered about - more points the closer the item is to spikes, that sort of thing. Liked the music.

Sacred by Stonis 2018-12-06T16:56:03Z

Nice work. Maybe a screen or two of 'How to Play' required? Once you get the idea it's definitely a 'just one more try' sort of game.

Slaves to Mammon by fizzhog 2018-12-04T09:56:13Z

@Luther-1: Thanks for taking the time to play and comment. I think your criticisms are entirely justified. And helpful. As I was learning Unity at the same time as making the game, I did not give enough time to ensuring that the gameplay was better balanced and more fun. The time available was just not enough for me to do much more than make the thing actually work given my inexperience. Thanks too for the encouraging words at the end of your comments.
