Shape Collector by Jogy34 2016-04-19T10:34:00
It's not loading properly for me, I'm just getting a grey square over some smaller coloured squares :(

A solid shmup. I like it. Hard though (but I never was any good at shmups).
I totally agree with "Qrr". This is good fun, a nice idea well put-together, but could do with a gentler difficulty curve.
This is nit-picking for something made in 48 hours though, well done!
This isn't really "my genre", but I can tell how much care and attention you put into this game. It's really well done.
I really like the storytelling and the atmosphere. One thing I could suggest though, is that it's difficult to see the shape being manipulated a lot of the time (both in the viewport and against the background).
This is great. Some very good level design and tutorialising for a 48hr game. A well-implemented metroid-vania-esque-thing. Not sure I'd have gone with green and pink though...
A really fun little puzzler. It would have been nice to spend a little more time with each new mechanic though.
Nicely done, and very impressive to do it straight in OpenGL.
On that note, you might want to tell people with laptops (like mine) with dual graphics (both integrated and dedicated) that they should tell their computer to explicitly use the dedicated graphics for this to avoid a crash on load. A lot of those integrated chips that get paired with dedicated cards don't have OpenGL support.
Very cool to make an Android game, and a networked one at that :)
I like the passive storytelling in such a short and simple game. I think by developing the core mechanic into something more interesting you could make it much better though.
It won't run on my PC :(
No window appears and I get no error message, it just insta-quits. The process only runs for half a second or so.
Windows 10 64bit, nvidia 840m.
I can't see it either, but I'd love to give it a go.
I was really getting into the mood of this, with the lovely graphics and sound, and then it ended! I'd love to see a story develop through this.
The link is broken. It leads to a 404 error
A nice puzzle game, definitely got me thinking backwards!
A very nice little puzzle platformer. Good fun and some neat challenges. I spent ages with that ice staircase before I realised I had a gem that stopped me from sliding.
Hey, fellow first-timer :) Well done on getting it in on time.
I'm finding it really difficult at the moment. I'm not sure I understand how you're supposed to go about moving the colours around. Could you perhaps elaborate a bit?
I really like the animations and the core gameplay is cool. But I'd definitely not use shift for attack, Windows keeps wanting to turn on sticky keys!
Could you post a built version please?
Well done for getting it in on time. But please change the jump arc if you continue with it. Check out the jump arcs of existing 2d platformers (especially the 2d Mario's) to get an idea for how they feel.
Damn those are some hungry plants
A really cool take on the theme, and I love the hand-drawn graphics. Nice job.
Nice music and graphics, it's fun.
Your "Unity Web Player" link is broken, it just takes me to download the html file without any of the data files.
But playing the Windows download everything's good, well done :)

But playing the Windows download everything's good, well done :) It's a fun core mechanic, but damn those hitboxes are unforgiving :)
Wow that screen shake!
A nice game for an hour's work :)
Nicely done. Congratulations on getting your first one in.
This is a really nice entry, well done fellow first-timer :)
Looks and sounds gorgeous. I have to say I found it very hard though (but I've never really been one for rhythm games). Well done.
Nicely done. Maybe make the tutorials shorter though, (or better, integrate them into real gameplay).
Very nice animations, I'm not sure why the bar depleted so quickly though. It felt like my button presses weren't extending the time much at all. Well done for a good game.
This is very elegant, but not very challenging. Maybe if you had the tracks cross over themselves sometimes? That would stop you from just registering if the barriers were on the inside/outside of the shape so easily.
I really like this game, but I'm finding the jump controls really buggy! Sometimes the game just decides it doesn't want to take my [up button] inputs any more, making me get stuck :( I don't really feel I can rate it properly because I can't progress very far.
Animations are lovely though.
Good music, but I had to check the comments below to work out that the "shapeshifting" needed the mouse...
Overall a very nice entry. My main criticism is a balance one: the transitions are far too slow and the game is very difficult, but these are all very easy things to tweak. I'd like to see a more polished version :)
I like the game, but within a couple of rooms I'd just lose the ability to shoot altogether making it impossible to progress. Lovely graphics and well-done but this bug makes it unplayable for me :(
I think you've got some really interesting ideas, and I like the game. I would suggest dropping the whole "modulo 4" thing though, it's more confusing than it needs to be. Why not just cycle through four shapes? Or use colours?
Nicely done. Thank you so much for including checkpoints, they're so often missed out of LD entries.
Decent typing game. Difficulty ramps up very fast. Well done for getting something in.
I really like the idea. Why don't you pin the z-axis positions of the pixels though? I kept having my pixels tumble off the front of the terrain. Unity has this functionality built in to its Rigidbody components.
Nice game, I especially like the music.
I really like this core mechanic, and the graphics are really sweet, but I wish you'd had more time to develop on the ideas! I feel there's a lot of potential here.
I really like this. Nicely done for making a fun puzzle game so quickly!
Fantastic job, though Dr. Garbage can't say the same for me...
Very nice, well done, but I never felt the need to move.
Nicely done. I would prefer it if you didn't insta-die with every mistake though.
I love the music and graphics, they give it a great feel. Maybe try to spend a little more time on the physics next time?
By the way, you can delete the ".pdb" files from your windows upload. They're not necessary and just increase the download size immensely.
A nice little minigame, well done for getting it in.
Well done for getting this in. It's a nice idea, but I agree with others that you should experiment more with the mechanic.
I like this, but it could do with more challenge. All you need to to do is back up until you'd win the encounter. Very original though.
I really like the music (and the cactuar!) but I wasn't able to find any collectables :(
Well done for making it :)
Very cool to see a simulation based game, nice job. Would be cool to develop it with something to work against.
Basic, but a really great idea. Very well done. I'm sure with some small tweaking to the mechanic it could be even better.
Nice little game. Definitely needs some indicator of your attack and damage though. Some lovely drawing and nice music.
Nicely done. Maybe have a movement speed limit next time?
It's a nice beginning, but very difficult when the player hasn't been taught anything (I had to check the comments below to work out you could sprint, then got stuck a few rooms later, not knowing whether I'd worked myself into a dead-end or I was missing another mechanic). There's definitely potential here though.
Nicely done. I really like the main mechanic. It would be nice to have a faster restart turnaround time to help you learn the ropes though.
Well done for getting it in. I didn't really know what I was doing for the most part though.
Well done for getting this in. It's a neat idea
I love the interpretation of the theme, good fun.
Nice shapeshifting mechanic, but I wish there was more variety. Well done though.
The game seemed to freeze after just the first enemy for me :( Also, I agree with others that more feedback for user interactions would be great. Love the art and music though.
This looks very nice, but the controls are very perplexing, why was the mouse ever locked in the first place?
I love the shark's sound effect!
Nice job. I found it very difficult with so many patterns to keep track on though, I'd suggest trying to boil down to the core ideas maybe?
Congratulations on your first game. The bird was quite difficult to control because of the fast movement, it made me wonder whether the movement speed was tied to framerate?
I don't think that's a loose interpretation of the theme at all :)
Well done for getting it in so quickly. Also for the funky funky music :)
I really like this core mechanic, and the graphics are really sweet, but I wish you'd had more time to develop on the ideas! I feel there's a lot of potential here.
Hey, fellow first-timer. I'd love to try this out but I'm getting a 404 error on your Windows link :(
I got 9575 points :)
This is really fun, well done. But my god are the enemies in level 2 tough.
A couple of suggestions: 1) why not have the player auto-shoot, since there seems to be no reason to ever stop shooting? 2) Maybe vary the pitch of the sounds on each play, they'll get less repetitive that way.
@Tegu. Thank you for the feedback and advice. I've updated the download file to remove the pdbs.
@Empyrealhell. There are several ways, but you have to think about it. You can get them trapped behind walls, blow them up with bombs, or use Artemis to out-run them.
Nice entry. Well done
I beat level 4!

This is really fun, especially the early levels.
Maybe the mechanic needs tweaking for the later levels? Once you hit a certain size you can't really do anything.
It's a shame you didn't manage to put in any keyboard controls, I doubt that many people have two controllers handy (I know I don't).
I think this game is desperately in need of a tutorial. Maybe you could flesh it out in your description?
Pretty fun :)
Nice game. I especially like the different feel each character has (the weight of the red one is great). Well done :)
It doesn't seem to be doing anything for me, it looks cool though.
Well done, it's a nice game (but very hard). I'm not a fan of the low drone all the way though though, it's giving me a headache.
Very silly and charming. I absolutely love the sound effects and music :)
Congratulations fellow first-timer :)
I really like your music and look forward to seeing more of yours in the future.
