This is such a fun and amazing game. I could play this for hours

sri-harsha-chilakapati 2016-04-18 07:12

Can't run, Avira keeps blocking the EXE file: http://i.imgur.com/RV5lTxe.png

saladon 2016-04-18 07:20

Great game to play. Very fun and has great replay ability.

cynicalmonkey 2016-04-18 07:27

this was a good entry, liked the fact that the graphics were pretty self explanatory about what each shapeshift would do, didn't have to wade through an explanation each time or test too much

matiz982 2016-04-18 07:28

Good rogue like game, with good pixel art. I want post-compo version <3

menderleit 2016-04-18 07:28

I can't play the game because it opens in a window that doesn't show the entire game. Can only see half the screen.

souperstrawer 2016-04-18 07:30

Shapeshifting was too random. It would have been better as a turn-based game rather than a real-time game. As such it was a bit difficult to enjoy :(

reismahnic 2016-04-18 07:36

Really neat core mechanic! Took me a bit to get used too, but once I did I had a great time. Cool visuals and vibe.

mrphil 2016-04-18 07:42

You lost a star on fun because I couldn't figure out how to get bullets back. Is one of the shapes suppose to be melee? I experimented but it was too hard because it changes shape so much. I also found the arrow keys to shoot made things too complicated... space bar would have been enough but I guess sometimes space bar did something too? Never figured that part out.

bonoshman 2016-04-18 07:50

Awesome game!

shohs 2016-04-18 07:56

Conceptually, this was really cool, and I think it was a really good interpretation of the theme. The graphics were nice too (I thought the scanlines were a nice touch). I had a good bit of fun playing it, my only complaint is that the shapeshifting seems a bit too random, like sometimes you get a shape useless for your current situation. Also, it would be nice to be able to retry the second floor if you die there.

uzumakkinaruto 2016-04-18 07:57

Awesome game and very fun

zombieritual 2016-04-18 08:07

Nice game!

qikcik 2016-04-18 08:13

Very Good game :D

berserker_chris 2016-04-18 08:25

Cool Idea, most of time i died because i forget to reload (auto-reload would be nice)
Great Audio and simple but nice graphics

yoel1234 2016-04-18 08:31

cant download but it looks awsome

sez 2016-04-18 09:01

Cool game! I sometimes couldn't shoot though, which was frustrating.

pentahelix 2016-04-18 13:01

Really enjoyed the graphics, but I found shooting to be a bit unpredictable.

floatingghost 2016-04-18 13:03

Reminds me of binding of isaac, in a very good way - I played a few times - lack of ammo might be an issue though :c

Very nice concept though, I'd play a fleshed out version :D

yrasin 2016-04-18 13:10

Very good and addicting game. Couldn't understand though how to get more ammo. But with some polish, this game could be something!

tomdeal 2016-04-18 13:12

Cool game. I really like the idea and the implementation. Two things I found a bit hard: First, no "please reload" indicator. This cost me a few minutes at the beginning. And it would be cool to know your next shape (like in tetris), so you can position yourself a bit better.

tharky 2016-04-18 13:32

I like it. It's fun but shifting randomly is kinda makes it hard :) Quite nice game, well done!

dwhiffing 2016-04-18 16:05

Fantastic entry! I love roguelikes and this is a new favorite for me. Reminded me of 868-Hack in terms of aesthetic :)

dkoding 2016-04-18 16:46

After I figured out I could use the spacebar to reload everything became easier. :-)

edocentrique 2016-04-18 23:05

Heya, the game doesn't launch for me :( (Windows)

jbasinger 2016-04-19 02:26

I can only see part of the screen when I run the game =(

khaos_fang 2016-04-19 09:49

Interesting game, but your character is too difficult to control.

qu2 2016-04-19 19:04

I like the game, but within a couple of rooms I'd just lose the ability to shoot altogether making it impossible to progress. Lovely graphics and well-done but this bug makes it unplayable for me :(

luquio 2016-04-20 00:57

would like to try it on mac, dont have a pc right here :( anyway the overall design looks pretty amazing

esayitch 2016-04-20 15:37

Excellent use of the theme, the graphic for each shape was self-explanatory which helped the learning curve. Graphics were great, so were sfx. Overall very good.

Good luck in the compo!

patomkin 2016-04-20 16:06

Went in thinking it was a turn-based game. After a couple of minutes realised that it is not and the most efficient strategy is to mash shooting and reloading buttons :(
But the overall idea and art style are very nice :)

neondx 2016-04-20 21:47

heck that game was fun! and beautiful! it lacked a little music, but was nice anyway

herszkorn-sacha 2016-04-21 09:43

great concept, graphics, sound design ! And you mind the azerty player perfect !

gamepopper 2016-04-21 20:25

Very challenging and very well polished. I like the strategic element of choosing when and where to move to aim and fire at your enemies. Sadly couldn't get very far.

fabraz 2016-04-22 15:15

Just out of curiosity, what shader did you use for the scanlines? Unity < Colorful Fx?

nlbi21 2016-04-22 20:59

I love the pixel art, this rogue is good please update.

designernap 2016-04-23 10:22

Solid idea and execution. Really enjoyed this one. Great work.

rock-eaters 2016-05-01 20:06

cool graphism but difficult to control imo

saintheiser 2016-05-07 07:01

Godd concept and solid idea. But too frustrative and hard.

drpetter 2016-05-09 22:45

I like the presentation and kind of fuzzy feel of the shading. Especially the really deep FOV shadows make it spooky and surprisingly complex-seeming since you interpret them as holes in the floor. So it's almost as if the room is changing as you run around.

I'm not as sold on the autoshifting mechanic though, ends up feeling quite random when there's no user influence except sometimes skipping a move to hold on slightly longer if you like the current weapon. The diagonal one also is very confusing in the heat of battle.

Maybe one improvement would be to ease the player in by enabling the different weapons one at a time for the early levels? Either that, or allow some kind of limited action that skips a form or takes you back to the previous one at a cost. Not quite sure, it might be enough to just make the unchanging stints longer than a few steps. Also what about switching manually for a +1 HP reward and the risk of getting a worse weapon that you can't get rid of for N steps? Maybe some would even be non-weapons or stuff like reversed controls... I don't know, there's definitely potential in the style and general formula here.
