The A button didn't work for me on the start menu so I couldn't play the game. I'm on Mac OSX Yosemite.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD35 → Mighty Morphin Cactus : In The Dark

Same, any button didn't do anything on start screen.
Sorry for that guys, the A button is a Joystick A button. You can go in the Input tab when you launch the app file and change the "Submit button" as well as the Jump. I'll make an update later today.
I really like the music (and the cactuar!) but I wasn't able to find any collectables :(
Well done for making it :)
Haha you've 3 collectible in that level they are quite well hidden ;) thanks for your comment
quite funny but I don't know, I couldn't tell how or why I kept dying, maybe more feedback in future!
Hi, thanks for the feedback. The main reason is the time running out. Or maybe you fall in a hole. I note your feedback for future polishing and improvement.
Good idea. but the game wouldn't let me me move forward, or even start for that matter. Good idea. just a bit too buggy.
the game could use some more animations, but i like the idea!
Thanks for the comments i'll make the improvement fast and hope you'll give a second try. For the animation i'm still learning it so i didn't had time to include them
Textures look nice. I had little problems width camera behing walls. and coudn't see where i was going.
For your first game in unity and considering the time constrains, impressive. Keep it up!
Thanks for you comment. I'm already working on that camera issue (it was worst before i submit), i've plenty of ideas for the game to improve.
Nice and simple. It lacks depth and the only real challenge is memorizing the map through exploring. However for a first Unity project it's quite good and looks more polished than many games I've seen.
The texture work is quite nice too.
5648 points ! Cool doom-like music :) (tested with xbox controller on PC)
I could start the game pressing the "Enter" button of the numeric keyboard.
Cool idea! I tried several times to get all the maze! :D
@Superizzo Yeah my lack of knowledge made me lose time on some stupid things, but know i've learned a lot, and i've plans for that game in the future, i'll try to keep up to date thanks for you comment :D
@EdoMiyamoto Nice score did you find any Bonus ball? Thanks for the music i'm new to that as well and yeah the reference was quite clear :D
@Teamross thanks for playing. I'm currently rethinking the game, to make something more looking like Luigi's mansion
Overall a fun game.
Sticks to the theme well. Could use a little more information on death, I was a bit confused the first time I died. The challenge is fun though and I managed to complete it!
Controls wise make looking based on the right analogue stick. Was a bit awkward controlling all with the left stick.
Couple of tips for unity (not affected the rating at all):
The .pbd files unity makes on build are not necessary to play the game. They are rather sizeable debug files that can be left out. All you need is the .exe and data file. Removing them will make your download a tenth of the size.
When making a UI, there is an element in the Canvas called a canvas scaler, if you switch it to scale with screen size, it will scale with resolution. Rather than leave all elements the same size which allows people on higher resolutions to be able to see behind the menus.
@Kinth Wow thanks for the tips, i've noted it and will work on it as soon as possible. Didn't know about those .pbd files and thought it was really heavy for such a small "game.
For the view on the right stick i've tried it many times, had a lot of weird behavior and bugs, so i decided to remove it and let it like that. I'm currently working on refactoring my controls , the view, and the camera system.
Thanks for your time and playing :)
Nice game and look, I also had troubles with the controls as keyboard didn't work (even after reconfiguring, don't know what i did wrong), and sensitivity was a bit too high on gamepad. Camera was also not very practical.
Just pointing out my remarks here, other than these I think it can be a great game!
@Kostasvs thanks for your comment. I don't know what had been wrong with the keyboard. Not the best way to play the game, but it was working on my side. I'll work on the sensitivity and the full control logic
A bit buggy and and my head rolling on the keyboard to find the keys to play, but the idea is cool! With a few improvement it can be lot of fun !
The key are written on the first screen of the game and on the description on top. Thanks for your comment :)
Nice work, overall I enjoyed the game play and had fun finding my way through the maze.
Dying really needs more work. Its quite confusing, it would be a lot clearer if you reset the camera angle and form to how you spawned the first time to make it less disorientating.
@zapp thanks for playing and the idea i take note and i'll implement a clear message on the new version currently at work.
Neat game! I included it in my video compilation series of Ludum Dare games, if you’d like to check them out :) https://youtu.be/ly5GDw3HErI
Charming idea. It's kinda weird to control the camera with the left stick, but nice job nonetheless
@bodsey I'm still searching a good tutorial (using script and no assets) to make that camera work on the right stick. Once i find out how to make it work properly i'll change that.
I think the level design is fine, but the best part is the fun factor, well done ;)
Ah, it's very like Thomas Was Alone but in 3D, another good point
@juaxix Thanks for your comments, especially the one with the Thomas Was Alone reference. And thanks for playing ;)
Neat game but controls dont work in Windows build version
Nice concept, nice little game. Could play it on keyboard without problems.
The concept is straightfoward.
Nice level setting, but the object is overlapping which causes z-fighting.
The caemera will pop out of wall. That's painful to play when it happened.
@CliffLee Thanks for playing ;). About the overlapping you talk about some walls right?
Nice Mechanic, good idea. Couple of issues with the camera being obstructed by walls but other than good game!
You know what the movement controls and camera clipping remind me of? GOD HAND!
@KhaoTom Haha good one, that's ok for me :)
Why a cactus? Quirky little 3D puzzler.
PS: WASD doesn't work?
Cool music and concept, good luck with improving further.
@Fabraz Let's answer by a "why not", at first i wanted to go on a western style, and a weird character. WASD is not the default setup, if you use the Windows or Mac version you can reassign the keys. Don't know how to auto detect the keyboard setup on unity.
@PowerSpark Thansk, i'm working on right now, rethinking the complete design from scratch
Hopefully my cactus don't have this capability to shapeshift, they will be able to escape my house ;). Good difficulty (for the moment I've only found 1 collectible). Hope to see a future version with more stuff. Nice work
Funny game! I like the art's simplicity.
the game was interesting, it was a nice idea to change the size of your character to squeeze through narrow passages.
The idea to have a cactus as protagonist was nothing less than genius (the title made us click the game). the controls were a little difficult on a pc keyboard, but we didnt have the recommended gamepad. thanks for making this game, it was fun :)
@Justacookie thanks for that awesome comments, i'm still working on improving my base controls on unity, and i think i'm starting to get something that would be good on keyboard as well
Quite a trippy experience, I think I died in the end because I was in a red waste land D:
