That's pretty impressive that you made the engine from scratch! The The graphics are okay, I guess you didn't think much about the "world" of the game, it seems very mixed. I like the controls, they're very responsive and the game felt fair. Very neat!
The game is overall fun to playm and that's something you don't find in a lot of supposedly good games with super graphics and so. Also it runs very smoothly and you don't feel frustrated. I don't know why but I really like the sound effects. The only thing are the graphics: the colour elections are maybe not the best choice.

Even though the game doesn't really fit the theme, it's still a classic shooter - can't go wrong with that. Plus you accomplished creating the engine in the 48 hours? Impressive!
Pretty cool, I recognize the cool work that went behind making an engine. I too have been there!
Screen's a little jerky, but that might just be my cruddy graphics card.
I'm afraid it crashes on load for me. No error message, just "ld35.exe has stopped working" :(
Nicely done, and very impressive to do it straight in OpenGL.
On that note, you might want to tell people with laptops (like mine) with dual graphics (both integrated and dedicated) that they should tell their computer to explicitly use the dedicated graphics for this to avoid a crash on load. A lot of those integrated chips that get paired with dedicated cards don't have OpenGL support.

I was unable to get the game running via either run.bat or ld35.exe. Using Windows 8.1. Hopefully I'll get to test the game later!
I can't get the game to run. The command line log reads:

and no window appears :( Seams like a good game from the screenshots and I would love to play it when it's fixed!
Windows defender identified this game as a virus.
Fun game but wished there was more room to move around.
