LD30 — Connected Worlds

99 LuftWaffels by quill18 2014-08-25T01:24:00

Four months ago I saw your ludum dare stream and it inspired me to participate in the 30th. Both of your games that I saw were amazing, and looks significantly more polished. Kudos sir, and keep up the good work!

LD31 — Entire Game on One Screen

Save the Gifts by JacksGamesSucks 2014-12-17T22:14:00

Impossible to lose and pretty repetitive, but the graphics hold promise. A little polish on the gameplay and I could see it being a lot of fun!

Late Icedodger by Doubstract 2014-12-17T21:52:00

Trying to dodge things is pretty frustrating, but I think the reason that's so apparent to me is because the rest of the game is pretty well polished. Great graphics and smooth track. Well done!

SMS by Newt_ 2014-12-09T02:18:00

Absolutely incredible! Compelling story, relate-able characters, and an all around realistic atmosphere. You truly outdid yourself :) .

Same Insane by hazzahazzam 2014-12-17T21:35:00

Neat track, but I felt like it sampled this is the only level a little too much. Be that as it may, I still played through the entire thing :).

Get the fick out by elkiwydev 2014-12-17T21:40:00

The bleeps and bloops don't really fit the saloon motif, but I really liked how it played. The player and enemies were a bit small though and kinda blended in, making it hard to get very far.

Seasons Simulator: Winter by Nobuyoshi 2014-12-17T21:58:00

It would be good on something like IOS and the art was stunning. A little more depth such as an increase in difficulty would go a long way.

Maybe Fish'n? by biscuitdough 2014-12-17T22:09:00

Chaotic, but in a way. Playing breakout like 'uh, uh, uh' :) .

Legend of Destiny by Remicy 2014-12-08T20:45:00

I enjoyed this one; it reminded me of 10000000. It's a shame so many features went unimplemented, but I'm glad you plan to continue it.

Robo Pusher by WaffleWorks 2014-12-08T22:21:00

I almost wish there was something that could be done to the immovable stacks of crates. Aside from that, and sticky controls it almost played like a small phone game.

MeteorStrike by D.B.O.NStudios 2014-12-08T22:47:00

Couldn't make it to the bottom try as I might, but the soundtrack kept on bringing me back. Controls could have used work, but all around, excellent job!

MeteorStrike by D.B.O.NStudios 2014-12-08T22:50:00

I forgot to mention, it would have been a lot harder to give up as easily as I did if there was a simpler way of restarting.

pOp by UlydevSecondGame 2014-12-08T22:35:00

I can only imagine what it would be like with four players! Great job!

LD34 — Two Button Controls / Growing

The Journey East by gallerdude 2015-12-30T17:18:00

A major problem is the fall speed. Falling at the cloud part is the absolute worst, but other than that I like not being able to backtrack, much like the original mario in that sense.

Galactic Growth Commander by DesignerNap 2015-12-15T00:16:00

If there is one thing I really enjoyed it was just being able to go around and shoot planets into oblivion with the torpedos, but unfortunately the depth perception and slow pitch speed made it pretty hard to do that some times. But why they do hit, man it's something beautiful. Color me impressed at your ability to make such an atmospheric game in the time that you did.

Pointless Life by Techblogogy 2015-12-27T02:43:00

Extremely brief, but funny game. Can't say that I fully appreciated the juxtaposition of the audio and gameplay though.

NGHGM by Stals 2015-12-30T17:47:00

This game is great fun! Took a long time to understand what exactly was going on, but taking that time was absolutely worth it.

Wellspring Wanderer by Justin Mullin 2015-12-27T02:50:00

Thoroughly enjoyed it what I could see, but try as I might, I could only ever land one of the pods successfully. No fault of your own though, I just don't have the finesse required for these games.

Someone Who Isn't Mario Teaches How Not to Type by TCP786 2015-12-27T15:37:00

Well I don't know what to say that hasn't already been said :P. Couple bugs I found though: backspace makes the glorious music disappear, and if you press the second key followed by the first you lose your jump (intended?)

Teenage Antlers by Mike Mezhenin 2015-12-30T16:19:00

Cute idea! Your characters are very defined!

Laser Pew Pew by adamk33n3r 2015-12-30T17:27:00

Starting right in the mayhem kind of threw me, but I got into it pretty quickly. Bullets don't really seem to go where you point which can be frustrating, but still fun to see how far you can get.

Immune by Terrabalt 2015-12-30T16:10:00

Aside from my confusion at the beginning from not being able to find anything to infect, it was a lot of fun, similar to something like osmosis or agar.io. For me there wasn't really a goal though? I didn't have the progress bar shown in the image (just me?) so I eventually got bored and let the blue enemies take me :P.
P.S. Shouldn't they be white? Like white blood cells that attack viruses?

Hey, My Name is Joe! by Pixelaborate 2015-12-27T04:18:00

@Gjarble, I really appreciate the constructive criticism and if I ever decide to continue the project on ios or something of the sort, I'll seriously take it into account!

Crazy John's Mushroom Hunt by dollarone 2015-12-30T15:58:00

Fun little platformer, however I wasn't able to finish one of the levels due to a mixture of my own incompetence and poor control.

Earth Invader by nihilaleph 2015-12-27T02:33:00

Everybody here is saying the game is hard, but I found it to be too easy, because you can hold the right arrow key and mash the left at the same time. My shields and health never went down so I guess I'm just really good at mashing :P. What was a little lacking in gameplay was made up for in the rocking soundtrack!

Riders on the Storm by Bendev 2015-12-30T16:23:00

Same problem with the crash R.I.P Jim Morrison

Nearing Extinction by AlexLamarche 2015-12-15T00:41:00

Like bailman said, it starts out slow, but really hits the fan in the later waves. Despite that I ended up stopping at about wave 15, because I kind of got pretty much all I could out of the game by that point unfortunately. If something was shooting back at you, you had to replenish ammo, or could upgrade your turrets then I probably would have enjoyed it a bit more. Other than that, fantastic job! I especially liked the mini-map, it's a godsend because it saves you from just aimlessly wandering past wave 10, when there's always something to shoot.

Blob Run by Khallane 2015-12-27T15:28:00

Interesting mechanic! I couldn't finish the level but I ended up getting a max score of about 500.

Botany by Steven Miller 2015-12-15T22:24:00

Really a great entry, at first I played it kind of like a tower defense, but eventually I came to realize it felt better as a twin stick shooter-ish game.

CRESCO by Robin 2015-12-30T16:37:00

Excellent submission! Everything about it was a lot of fun and it was paced in such a way that made it really enjoyable. My only real complaint is it should have been longer!

Jay in Love Garden by Namek 2015-12-30T16:44:00

That's funny, I guess money really does grow on trees! Actually though for some reason it reminded me of animal crossing, shaking trees, looking for bells to pay tom nook. Could easily see myself playing it on my phone for at least a little while.

Defend the Plant by PanDoes 2015-12-30T17:23:00

Rough around the edges, but some polish and you've got yourself a twin stick shooter! Hope to see some more finished entries from you in the future.

a choice of weapon by munchor 2015-12-27T15:18:00

All in all a fun little time waster, but I think the sniper needs a drawback to make it the same level as the machine gun. Maybe some reload time?

LD35 — Shapeshift

Card De-Wolf by AxeTheory 2016-04-23T12:25:00

I played a couple times but it got pretty formulaic after I really knew what I was doing. A few more cards would have shaken up the gameplay and made it a bit more interesting I think.

In the Court of the Kingly King by Ysty 2016-04-24T15:25:00

Fun stuff! I was absolutely enthralled!

Rubik's Plane by markusfisch 2016-04-23T12:56:00

Nice little stress-free game. Good job!

Abducktion by JohnnySix 2016-04-21T23:38:00

Great entry! Sometimes I moved a little fast for my own good, but I got through the entire thing without any trouble. I loved the art direction and the music gave everything some kind of urgency. I especially liked flying as the duck or running through doors as a chick.

Turnstone by Walnoot 2016-04-22T23:30:00

Very similar to my entry, so needless to say - flawless. Joking aside, I liked the feel of everything, very tactile, but at the same time, pretty barren world. A background or bgm would do a lot to make it feel more complete.

Malformed by Takadimi 2016-04-22T00:53:00

Even though the game doesn't really fit the theme, it's still a classic shooter - can't go wrong with that. Plus you accomplished creating the engine in the 48 hours? Impressive!

PowerShift: The People's Republic of United Democristan by nintendoeats 2016-04-22T01:05:00

Took awhile for me to understand what was going on, and even once I finally got a grip, it was still incredibly involved. It was fun to just click on people and make them fight and stuff though. If it was dumbed down for a layman such as myself it would be a totally awesome little time-waster!

Morph Brawl by Seregy7 2016-04-23T11:51:00

Like everybody before me, my only complaint is lack of content. The music and art are good, it's just missing more enemies and transformations to make it feel more complete. Good work otherwise.

The Ragdoll Show by Ken Ichi 2016-04-23T13:05:00

Cute idea, but the only one I could do was the square and it was by pure luck :p good job!

King Of The Claw by bob5602 2016-04-22T23:11:00

I had a lot of fun playing, the claw was the best part. A little barebones but a great entry!

Dungeon Shift by sirikan 2016-04-23T12:11:00

The actual game was fine, but things such as poor control or your character and huge maps kind of drew from the enjoyment a little. Otherwise, I was pretty ensconced in the experience until I just couldn't find a way out of level 7. Solid entry :)

Shift the Shapes by austinsheep 2016-04-20T00:35:00

Fun, but kind of frustrating without a grid in the foreground to see how things line up. Also, shapes can be placed on top of each other without penalty? I could only get a highscore of 7 without cheating :/

Tesselate by kitcar2000 2016-04-24T16:16:00

Neat little puzzle game with some nice icing on the cake with that fanfare at the end!

Polyblob Bob by unnamed1334 2016-04-23T12:36:00

Totally awesome idea! Implementation was so-so but if I were to suggest a few things, make it so that right clicking doesn't even do anything because to be honest it just made me confused. If the movement of his corners was a bit more responsive I'm sure the game would have been a blast! Sadly I couldn't get past the quad stage :(

⬛R⬤PPING ONTO SH▲PES by Ovidios 2016-04-21T23:49:00

I got stumped at level 5 :| I guess I'm not really good at puzzle games. Other than that I pretty much agree with everybody else about how nice the style and sound effects are, and how bothersome it can be to reset the level each time you lose.

Fusionshift by thedashdude 2016-04-24T16:31:00

Initially confused, but once I got it... I was still kinda confused :p I'm not sure how you could make it easier to play without losing the novelty of the puzzle but I still found it enjoyable.

PixelShifter by Tony-C 2016-04-20T00:17:00

I love the concept and I think that a few minor adjustments, such as confining the pixels to the horizontal plane so they don't fall off the world, would go a long way into making a really fun game.

Pop/Swap by Paulgami 2016-04-23T12:18:00

Good stuff! I felt like I could cheese the levels a bit with the mechanics, but really that's to be expected in such a short time frame. On a related note, the only real issue I have with it is lack of content, but what can you do?

Those Aren't Stars by Gtron 2016-04-22T00:21:00

Definitely cute with charm to spare, but moving platforms take ages. Also some sounds are obnoxiously loud such as the death blip. Other than that I found the game to be quite enjoyable.

By The Light Of The Spire by Blobo 2016-04-23T18:01:00

Everything was nice and polished, but things like double jumping were a little hard. Well done!

ShapeCrafter by EstrelSteel 2016-04-22T00:37:00

*Ka-chunk* ...
*Ka-chunk* ...
*Ka-chunk* ...
^ Me on the last level ^
I thought the game was pretty intuitive and to me it felt kind of like a bare-bones rhythm game. It was but changing colors was random as far as I could tell and really ruined my groove.

Give me Six by SpiritJZL 2016-04-22T01:22:00

Really struck me as one of those built in windows games for some reason - that's a compliment :P fun little game.

Origami Ride by MartinFernandez 2016-04-21T19:49:00

I thought it was a fun concept with not enough to do, plus sometimes it felt like you could not get out of the way of the bird poo. Still got a score of 280 :)

S.D.A: Shapeshift Detection Agency by zacerhy 2016-04-24T15:32:00

The graphics for the various people didn't load in the web build, but otherwise the experience was full and charming. At first I was afraid of a fairly cookie-cutter memory game, but slight wordplay made the thinking a little more critical and likewise, the game more enjoyable.

Morph by Graham Weldon 2016-04-24T15:05:00

I understand that it would make the game too easy, but not being able to transform at will is a bit of a bummer because there are points where you're just sitting not able to pass over a wall. Maybe if it was a cycle with a set timer?

Neon Fighters by Sparked99 2016-04-22T01:15:00

It really launches you into the heat of battle, and to be honest I still don't really understand how the game is played. I tried every type of unit and exploding the enemies by clicking them but I always ultimately ended up losing. Ended up feeling more like cookie clicker than a tower defense game, but that's not a bad thing :) I had fun

Shape Shifter Match Maker by schizoid2k 2016-04-22T01:32:00

I had probably an unhealthy amount of fun playing, so simple but so engaging for some reason. Small bugs here and there, but they do nothing to make the game any less good.

Shapeshift Warriors by mf1214 2016-04-22T00:05:00

I played through all 7 levels and it was a fun mechanic, but changing shape and size kind of took me out of it a little. Small changes, such as making the menu start on the current shape and making it change your health to whatever size you're switching to would go a long way in improving it for example.

Shape Switch by stefvanschie 2016-04-23T12:46:00

Neat puzzler, but it feels pretty empty with only six levels and no music. If the camera followed the player, or even if you were allowed to resize the window I think I could have enjoyed it a lot more. Also, I wouldn't worry about saving and loading games for Ludum Dare, the games tend to be so small it doesn't even matter. Nice first entry!

The Adventures of Blinky, The Square-Shaped Round-Thing by peter_sc 2016-04-23T12:51:00

I'm afraid that the entire time I was just very confused about everything :/

The Shard Collector by LudumAnthony 2016-04-20T00:27:00

I'm a sucker for twinstick shooters, but the square guy was just a tad slow for my taste. The fact that each character was a little different was a fun discovery, all in all a lot of fun.

Block Shift by Templar3lf 2016-04-20T00:11:00

Solid Entry, could definitely see it as a IPhone game with a little more polish.

A Suttle Haze by Shael 2016-04-23T11:48:00

Incredibly engaging, and as a result disappointingly short. Everything from the art-style to the music had me totally captivated. Quality work!
