Amazing! Best game ever
so addictive but quite hard
well done mate

blinry 2016-04-18 22:27

Hey, nice game! :) I love the transitions between the different animals. Clever level design! Sound is a bit quiet. Thanks for making this!

fizzhog 2016-04-18 22:30

Excellent. Hard. You didn't want sound?

mikaza 2016-04-19 12:33

Nice Game !

crimson713 2016-04-19 12:45

Nice game with relaxing visuals. A bit hard even in the beginning, but that can be a good thing. Good job.

fullmontis 2016-04-19 17:04

I like the idea, and the fact that each shape gives radically different behaviours! I think though that the game starts right out too difficult, without giving some time to get used with the controls. With time you get used to them, but it can be discouraging.

I also like that you can pass each part with different combinations, gives it replayability.

nlbi21 2016-04-19 20:17

Good game i like it and love the art style.

zerkruemler 2016-04-22 17:37

Nicely done! I like the different behaviours.
You managed to transport your message in this game.

2016-04-23 07:23

Hi, nice game ! We're realizing a video with several games of the Ludum Dare #35.
Can you add your game on indiexpo.net ? (it's free)
So we can include also your game in the video ;)
p.s. write #LDJAM in the game's description

the-potato-boss 2016-04-23 18:38

Cool game man!

keyboardmonkey 2016-04-24 05:34

Eerie music and nice art style.

themeorch 2016-04-24 18:28

Nice job -- really sets a tone nicely with the stark visuals and sparse music. Unless I'm mistaken, you need to click Retry with the mouse when you die -- since the game controls require both hands to be on the keyboard, it would be ideal to have the player be able to retry using the keyboard, instead of having to move their hand to the mouse each time they die (or just automatically retry, since the player will surely want to do that).
Nice work!

gord10 2016-04-26 18:29

Perfect mood. I gave up at the three cannon, though, I found the game frustratingly hard.

You can use a singleton code for music, so it won't start again every time we die. You don't need the pdb files in a Unity build, they are just for debugging. Pressing R for restart makes the UX bad, we should be able to restart with any button.

ijona 2016-04-26 21:32

I don't like that kind of gameplay, but the art is really great!

plko 2016-04-26 21:38

In lifetime, we always wear a mask, pretending we are someone instead of ourselves.

davor10105 2016-04-27 09:08

@plko that's exactly the point i'm trying to make, it really shouldn't be like that, why do we need to hide parts of ourselves? Just be yourself.
Btw thanks everyone for your comments, i really really appreciate them

ragnta 2016-04-28 07:11

Nice game! :)

sunflower 2016-04-29 19:10

Ah, another shapeshifting platformer. Somehow, these aren't a rarity round here. ^^'

The controls felt a little clunky, but were passable (they do take a bit to get used to, though). Graphics work well enough, though sometimes I felt animation was off (most likely the cat, whose animation was not synchronised with movement). On a side note, I wanted to pick up a flashlight and ended up taking a cannonball in the face. Boo. :<
The soundtrack... I appreciate the attempt, but I didn't see much structure or melody here; it wasn't really something that "flows" inside my head, and definitely not something I'd play on repeat (which I tend to do, and even made a program to detect loops and extend tracks endlessly). ^^'

As for the backstory... well, it's been a while since people discovered they can make games with statements about love, human, philosophy and whatnot, and I don't really think this game really stands out. I think "don't pretend to be someone else" would work better if it was implied through the game that pretending has bad effects, or maybe if the whole basis of the game is that all that shapeshifting is merely an illusion (rather than having a measurable effects such as flight). I hope you see my point - I'm not particularly against story- or message-driven games, but after seeing a fair share of them, it takes some clever integration into the game to impress me.

Generally, solid entry, yet somewhat lacking in different aspects. Hopefully you'll get better with these by the next Dare. ^^'

GREAT START! SIMPLE CONCEPT, FUN TO PLAY. I RELATED MOST TO THE CAT, SOMETIMES THE BIRD AND NEVER THE FISH. BUT THAT IS JUST PERSONAL

phoenix1987 2016-04-29 23:34

Has a bit of a challenge, gives you the chance to get use to it. Very addictive and fun. Animations were well done and sound fits really well! Keep it up

randomhuman 2016-05-01 22:01

The controls can be a bit unresponsive at times - the bird flapping in particular is frustrating because it can only be done at a long interval. Despite that, the gameplay is compelling and challenging. The art is also very stylish. I'm glad I persevered to the end.

cheshire 2016-05-02 19:05

Cool

fantasieleben 2016-05-02 23:03

Very cool game, feels quite good already. A bit too hard I think.

megabrutal 2016-05-03 21:28

First of all: PLEASE EXPORT A LINUX BUILD. The WebGL version works, but lags.

Excellent game! It is very hard – if you heard me playing it, I bet you could have learned some really sophisticated Hungarian cursing. I think the hardness could be mitigated with more often checkpoints. The game should also use some easier tutorial phase which would allow me to accommodate to the controls before the tougher stuff happen, but it's understandable that you didn't have time to implement this. The game's crazy-hardness reminded me of VVVVVV and Super Meat Boy.

I'd also like to explore this „who's the real you?” theme (beyond my actual entry – I know you played it), and I actually have more unimplemented concepts for it. Huge respect for your implementation!

Graphics are sweet, animations are smooth. Could use some goats. Thanks for this game!

@plko: Your comment reminds me that aspies (people with Asperger's Syndrome) need to wear a mask for the outside world, that they may only put down when they are at home (or alone). In a more equal society, it wouldn't be necessary.

yuigoto 2016-05-06 03:06

Nice concept for a game, great message! :)

The silhouette graphics are really nice and, together with the music, creates a nice mood for the game, controls work quite nicely too!

The level, although short, is quite challenging too and requires some dexterity to finish in one go. :P

Congrats! :D

frederika 2016-05-09 21:08

It's a bit hard, I couldn't get past the cannon, but overall I think it's a good start.

catmoo 2016-05-09 22:04

This is a really good first entry!

I like the twitch style nature of it, although at times it was a little unforgiving.

Also the animations between the character types looks great, and the animal types you chose are easily distinguishable to what they serve as a character which is great!

tth2x 2016-05-10 03:13

Great work,in the middle of the level,it really a little bithard to play, try again so many times, but when i got the adapt of the 3 shape gradually, i could be reaction more and more quick and smooth.
you move out the sound let this game so unique, or maybe let player could more focus their mind on game's totally atmosphere.
the cat really so useful in so many dangerous place! particularly the hard point i mentioned above..
well game worth to be try.also sorry for my late paly and comment.ToT hope next time i will more early play you game .
