This sis pretty fun and i really like how you hit the theme right on the mark the game mechanics using the core mechanics is smooth and satisfying you guys did well.

Very fun! A few things (these are mainly nitpicks, things that I would change, nothing serious): if you could change the abilities to buttons that would auto-use them like spacebar and e would be helpful and then I would probably use them more. I accidentally found out that the second ability can grab people from a distance, explaining that either through tutorial or gameplay would be helpful. There isn't much feedback for hitting enemies, maybe a health bar or knockback (knocking alive enemies into the pit would be cool). Also health didn't matter, I never died in level 1. And the camera is too zoomed in, I never got a feel for the level. Overall I like the artstyle, which reminds me of human fall flat (and i love the souls icon). And I like the excecution, a lot of games are about sacrificing people but this one makes it fun with the physics and artstyle.

Pretty fun! Nitpick is that at the beginning at first picking up the white pill thing didn't seem to work correctly in the web version.

Fun game and a nice interpretation of the theme. I was playing on a laptop touchpad without a mouse so it was a bit difficult to switch powers but still I enjoyed the game a lot. There wasn't much need to walk around with the pick up from a distance power and since the fighters would come to me, so I put all my upgrades into health and damage. It would be nice to have a bit of hit feedback both on the player and the NPCs. You did a great job with this game! :thumbsup:

One of my favourites so far! Love the character design and the concept fit the theme great. However a few small issues. Since your sacrifices carry across the days, the first few days are a bit easy. And because the game buffs you at the end of each day, making it even easier, it takes a while for the amount of souls satan wants to actually start being a challenge. Also, I focused speed for my first run and after a while the character controller started to jitter a little. Besides that, great game. Really enjoyed playing :)

the game is pretty fun and fit well the theme. it's maybe a little bit too easy as the sacrified souls are always count to the next day and not reset (or maybe it's your decision ?) i notice that the hitbox of melee attack (type 1) is only on the blade, so if you're too close to the enemy, when you attack, you will not hit him. Otherwise, it was enjoyable to play it. Nice work !

Very nice to play, as the simple mechanics are easily understandable. I liked the clean graphics, it fits the easy to play and have a nice twist on the darker theme, however i dont feel the same about the music, it sounded out of place in my opinion. Overall, its a very nice game.

@vatigo Yes absolutely, the feedback is really iffy. We considered a color change and a sound effect, but time didn't allow it. I'll look at some similar games and see how they do it to take our game to the next level

@rytannic The soul increase system is just multiplication of the soul goal. I think finding the right soul amounts per level takes a bit more testing than we had time for. Not sure why the character jitters. Could be something with physics update and regular update being run at different times. Thanks so much!

@kanacell The souls carrying over was intentional! It just felt better to see the progress, and I think it made for a gameplay that rewarded a skilled player. The hitbox of the scythe could be moved a bit, but again I think the placement kinda rewarded a more cautious playstyle.

@derek-volker Thanks so much! We tried to have a focus on tactile and fun gameplay more than game mechanics this time, and I think it payed off. The music is definitely a point of improvement. I'm not really experienced enough of a music writer to write fitting music. Do you have an example of music that would be fitting? I would love to hear what you think

In my humble opinion, a concerto for strings quartet is very fitting for this tematic. Like this:

Note that this is a VERY personal opinion. What is fitting to me, maybe is not fitting to you. I particularly find that the sacrifice theme needs something "darker", in which you provide a kinda of happy theme. The strings sound and the particular atmosphere Stravinsky provides in this piece give me this kind of feeling.

Also, hard to miss with classic music.

This was pretty fun, but the controls are getting pretty glitchy sometimes and the screen was cropped out on the sides. I don't know if only I had that problems :D

But beside this, I enjoyed it, it's a good idea and just slaying some random monochrome dudes gives me the chills :D So Good job ;)

Cool game, web version seems a little buggy. I got stuck behind some walls a few times (on the level select and first level). The cross guy started attacking me! I didn't think he would use it as a weapon. Great jam entry.

Great fun! Feels like "Gangbeasts" inspired visuals and gameplay and does a good job at it. Great fun and good all round entry.

That music was amazing, kept wanting to play just to hear that tune haha. The mechanics were fun, the combat felt nice, it was a very clean game ( : the art is really fun to look at as well. A little bit of bugginess but not too much, great job!

That was a lot of fun! i got into a groove when i realized you can grab bodies from far away with the ranged spell. I never used the AoE spell, though. I think the timer might be too short to encourage the player to leave the small circle around their blood-pit, even though there's a thick crowd of enemies waiting northways on the map.
