It's pretty fun and I like the concept. I feel there should be a way to aim upwards, though.

It's pretty fun and I like the concept. I feel there should be a way to aim upwards, though.
a nice concept with nices graphics. To me, there's just the controls which are a little bit weird. otherwise, it's great work !
Awesome idea executed well. I love the look and the music and the central mechanic. My only gripe would be the controls are rather slow. It would be nice to have a way to directly dodge the projectiles or at least be able to fall faster. Mind you the game game never gets hard enough so that it's needed, but it would be nice.
As for bugs, it seems if you fire all the projectiles without collecting them and then merrily continue into the next room, the character just gets stuck and the player has to restart.
BTW. From the first gif, this greatly reminded me of heavy heavy bullets.
Nice idea! I love the art concept and the gameplay too. It is hard and I'm didn't finished it but I will come back  good luck!
Awesome game! I really liked the theme fit.. has nice potential to scale up!
Cool game! Nice graphic.
Hey! Just finished playing, the game feels good and I like the idea that your ammonations are also your health. Art is also cool, I would've liked maybe like 2 more sprites for the moving player, but tbh it's not a problem at all, still nice and good. Good audio as well!
Dude it is awsome ^^
Wow this game is really awesome. The art looks incredible and the rooms are well designed. I like the concept and the mechanics. Controls are working flawless and the sound effects are nice. The music is really fitting. It builds up tension slowly leading to a groovy background song, but at the end of the piece it restarts. The music is really good, but I would rather split it up in the silent part and tension part, because the way it is now it restarts the silent part while I am shooting through the enemies. I really liked the game and it's incredible, what you did in this short time. It's beautiful, it's polished -> I like it
Love the graphics and the mechanics. I would probably make a it a little bit snappier and faster, it feels a little as if it was happening under water. Great job, though!
Very nice game. The warping animation is a little bit weird for a pixelart game, but overall it works well for me. Enemies work well and I love that you put in a boss fight!
My only complaint is that, as others mentioned, the movement is a little bit slow, especially vertically, almost like it was floating, or falling through honey.
Anyway, great job!
Really nice music and art, made a very cool mood. A fun game with some good polish, well done.
My favorite game so far! Everything fits perfectly!
Very cool! Everything plays very well (sounds and art are great too), but I think I reached the end (on top of the tower) and it doesn't show it clearly.
Good job! The graphics and animations were amazing, and it was a pretty original take on the theme.
Good!
Great game, one of the few I gave five stars!
This turned out awesome! Only thing that's confusing is that you die when you fire your last bullet. Killed myself a bunch of times by accident.
Enjoyed the gameplay overall, but I think the bullet sacrifice twist doesn't really change much from the conventional core game-play. I guess it needs enemy types that make catching your own bullets something to think about as it's just turns into a game about "going near where you last shot at after shooting" game. I could see the mechanic being expanded maybe to be about ricocheting bullets to make catching bullets more engaging.
Everything about the animations and physics is great though. As a conventional game it plays really well especially with dodging the enemy projectiles and killing the boss. Great work.
Great stuff! Really polsihed and good looking!
I would make the controls a bit less floaty though. But still, great game!
Nice graphics and like the idea of you dying if you use all ur ammo. (Our game has the same mechanic with the ultimate, hehe)
Great graphics, character designs and little bouncy animations! The checkpoints are a bit too spaced later on and sometimes it's hard to tell if a corridor ends in a wall or if it leads to another room because the margings color is the same as the rooms color. Great job, I can see this game doing great in the ratings!
I enjoyed this! Great effort!
Maybe it's just me being dumb, but I was in the room with the first gravestone checkpoint for about 3 minutes figuring out what to do. I didn't know you just had to walk through! The way it is embedded into the webpage makes the corridors sometimes seem like dead ends.
I found the boss really really tough, I only managed to kill it once and I also killed myself at the same time. I'd also like to see some feedback so I know you can actually kill it - I just jumped past it once I thought you couldn't kill it.
A more conclusive ending with the tall gravestone would be nice. Is it because I didn't kill the boss?
I'd like to see some extra max bullets power ups somewhere. I think that would be nice.
Overall, great game! My biggest complaint would be I would have preferred a more realistic interpretation of the games mechanics with its lore - more like a zombie throwing his limbs across the room, or something to that extent. It was hard to equate 'low ammo' with 'low life' - even an annoying pinging noise like in the Zelda series would be a little help. :)
Keep it up!
Great game - very innovative! I like how the sprite scales in the direction of movement. The jump felt a tiny bit 'floaty' for my taste, but it goes along with the graphics. Quite a fun game!
WOW! Great game dude :D I totally loved it! Concept is great and the game is a very good challenge!
This was good! The gameplay is fun and the twist works. The level design was also top notch, although there could have been at bit more save points.
It has a simple mechanic that is executed well. The graphics and music go together nicely and the 'squishy' quality of the player is graphically pleasing. This is one of the more fun entries I've played. Well done.
Great use of the theme! Amazing pixel art. Gameplay was fine if a bit floaty. I reached a tall gravestone on top of a tower, I assume that's the end? or one and at least.
I love the style & the funky-demonic music <3 I got lost a bit because it's not visible which edge of the room leads into another room, and I killed myself a few times because the ammo didn't seem visibly important to me - but still, overall a nice game!
This music is BANGING!
Only thing I'd change is the movement physics, they're pretty sluggish and floaty!
Overall great game and great use of the theme :)
Thats pretty fun! The music was cool, the gameplay felt nice, with good feedback, well done!
Oh my. I tried multiple times to come up with an idea based around ammo being health without getting one that actually makes for fun and engaging gameplay, and you did it. Hats off to you, the idea and the execution worked perfectly. The sound effects, music and artstyle complemented eachother quite well, too.
The "bullets are your health" idea is really cool! Controls could need a little "tightening" tho. (Maybe increase the movespeed and gravity and add variable jump hight?)
Anyways, solid entry, really enjopyed it!
Loved the concept! Very nice visuals!
I really enjoyed the music and the concept. Would have been nice to be able to collect bullets besides the ones I shot. The artwork was also very good. I personally wasn't hearing sound effects but another person commented there were some. It also did feel bad to die using your last shot maybe a small delay on death to give the player a chance to recover their shot. Overall nice game. I get that you were sacrificing health for ammo but for me it did not feel on theme enough.
The polish is astounding, well done, art/music is all great, very high quality. The take on the theme, I think someone else said it doesnt change the game much. If you shoot enemies point blank you instantly collect the bullet anyway and I dont think the bullet ever goes away as time goes by. I think because the levels are so tight that there isnt a worry about retrieving your bullet.
I didn't know what to do once I got to the big cross but I assume that was the end! Very fun, well done.
Fun little game - would have loved a little hint as to where the passage ways were placed (may have overlooked it though)
hope you'll rate my game as well - and feel free to give your honest opinion.. it's my first game https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/43/wanyudo-island
very nice concept et the game feel is very cool.
The game is really cool ! It doesn't looks like a game made in 72h ! Awesome !
You should really do something with it afterwards!
cool idea and art
Perfect LD game for me... interesting, beautiful, entertaining. At the start I thought the "ammo == health" idea was not really that effective, until I got hit by an enemy and realized the actual consequences of having less bullets. Really cool!
I really enjoyed this game, even though I didn't end up making it to the end. I thought the music was really well done, and the whole presentation really gelled well together. However, I think it was a bad idea to let the player shoot their last point of health away - seems a bit overly punishing. Personally, I would have made the player lose if they got hit without any leftover bullets.
Nice, great theme interpretation, visual and audio design. Really works.
My only gripe really would be the jump action, would be great to have more control over the height (such as a quick tap to hop over a bullet, vs a longer held jump). Otherwise it's awesome, had a lot of fun here.
I love the effect when you shoot the gun. And the fact that we can get the bullet back is really nice it makes the game accessible
Really enjoyed playing the game. Only one reocmmendation: It would be nice if I could make a smaller jumo when pressing the UP button for a very short time.
Super nice interpretation of the theme, cool graphics and nice sound ! the only complaint I could make is the use of borders the same color as the walls, not very instinctive to see the changes of areas.
Super competent platformer- this obviously isn't your first rodeo! The introduction of enemies, placement of checkpoints and room design were all tight. I was waiting for the mechanic to really 'kick in'; as I got my health back right after off-ing an enemy it just felt like a regular platformer to me. The only slight difference (apart from accidentally killing yourself, which seems a little harsh) was with that floating octopus, but fighting it close quarters allowed me to rally off a ton of shots in succession.
I'm stunned that this was made in a weekend lol you guys killed it. Very fun, very pretty, awesome submission. it played a little slow, like it was underwater a bit lol but I got used to it. truly loved it.
This is fantastic. Excellent art, sound, and gameplay.
Amazing game with cool graphics!)
Really liked the game! Graphics reminded me of shovel knight/ enter the gungeon. Played really well and the "tutorial" was well implemented! Might be interesting to make it so if you miss, you don't get the health back.
This was a solid entry! The music was funky and the animations were really nice! I liked the overall concept and picking your bullets back up after satisfying was satisfying, catching them on the rebound.
The only thing I think it is lacking is more of an ending, but overall this was a really good entry!
Hey! I loved the game. A bit floaty for my platformer tastes, but I kept playing til the end and I would be playing it more if it was more game! Good job.
Fun game. I love the are style and music. Like many have said a bit floating but I don;t think that hurts it too much. You got a great feel out of the thud when a bullet hits the enemy. Super satisfying.
I really like the mechanics of your game
The level design is also really great
Very well done
Really loved the music and mechanics. would have liked to see more enemy variation as the game went on, but the boss at the end was fun
There's quite a bit to explore here. Good effort.
Really interesting concept and amazingly well executed ! I would have loved if the character moved faster as it feels a bit slow, especially when trying to control the character in the air.
I didn't take part in this LD, so I can't vote, but I wanted to leave at least a comment to congratulate you this excellent entry!
The code idea is brilliant and well executed, there are quite a lot of room, and sfx/gfx are cool - a perfect LD entry!
I really hope you push this into a full fledged game, because it clearly has a lot of potential!
This is really well done. The physics feel great -- the right balance of floaty and controllable. Getting the hang of combos to make sure you keep your ammo full is a fun touch.
Is the big cross the ending?
Cool concept, interesting game! I included it in my compilation video series of games from the Ludum Dare, if you’d like to take a look :) https://youtu.be/aRIyiUZY0TQ
How can I kill the skull if it is always in the wall?
@mertios that one's just a preview of sorts.
@skullpixel Ok, thanks. After jumping around quite a bit, I finally found the exit. Great game though. I really had a blast playing it.
Very efficient!
I reached the cross thing.
 This game was a lot of fun, and the music was really cool (the loop was a bit strange though).I really liked the graphics (mostly, see below) I really really liked the slow falling and tumbling on the bullets, it created a cool slow-mo feeling with out changing the timing of the game at all.
:bug: You could leave the last boss room without killing it. ^_^
:point_right: The graphics style was cool, but I'm a bit conflicted on the downscaling/rasterizing effect. some of the animations felt too smooth for pixel art and it was particularly jarring when the stretch/squash caused a pixel to double, and then as the character slowly moved back to regular size the pixels would return to normal at different times (interestingly the entire thing looks pretty good at lower framerates -- like in gif's ^_^).
:star: Overall great job. Thank you for making this!
Pretty fun and challenging game! I don't get the point of the floaty jump, but otherwise it feels and plays great and looks awesome! Enojyed it very much! Thanks!
When I shot and and picked up a shell, I felt clever! If you continue to develop this, when I looked at a sideways passage on the left or right edge of the screen, I sometimes misinterpreted it as a dead end.
Awesome game! Very polished and well made. The exits/entrances of rooms are hard to see though since all the walls are black. Some sort of sprite indicating which parts lead to other areas would be cool. It'd also be nice to see some indication of the bosses health so the player knows if they're close to killing it or not.
One Concept I Liked: * I liked the music because it did not sound repetitive and it fit the mood of the game.
One Concept I Disliked: * This game did not really fit the theme. Since bullets that were shot could be recollected, there was not really any sacrifice in this game.
Not only is this game a great idea that fit the theme incredibly well, but it was also executed incredibly well. Great job, and I can't wait to play more of your games!
