LD43 — Sacrifices must be made

Revolver Curse by SkullPixel 2018-12-05T16:15:28Z

Oh my. I tried multiple times to come up with an idea based around ammo being health without getting one that actually makes for fun and engaging gameplay, and you did it. Hats off to you, the idea and the execution worked perfectly. The sound effects, music and artstyle complemented eachother quite well, too.

God of the Well by Albinobat 2018-12-08T12:27:57Z

The cutscenes, story, music and sfx were really nice. However the back-and-forth for souls was indeed a bit tedious, but that's something that'll be easily fixed, no doubt. I liked the idea of gaining new abilities and unlocking new areas, and that will surely allow your game to expand into something great. With a little bit honing on walljumping, that ability alone could be the key for instance.

Sidegrade by ReiMari 2018-12-05T16:07:07Z

The moment I entered wave 11 I couldn't wait to finish it so that I could write you this comment. The music resonated really well with the stage, considering it was a "boss stage". Like some other players, I was able to beat it by pumping all my upgrades to fire rate. I can't wait to see where this game goes. Overall the gameplay was extremely enjoyable, the music fit the game really well, the idea behind sidegrading has tons of potential, and the sound effects were also quite spot-on. Keep it up!

Sacrificial Lamb by boundtotheearth 2018-12-04T14:20:50Z

I really enjoyed how you implemented the player's view. Gives the game a bit of uniqueness and challenge.

Space Captain Leslie in ... Disasteroids!! by skettyNmeebs 2018-12-08T13:04:42Z

I liked the game mechanics, although the controls were a bit icky with just using a keyboard. There are only so many misses you can afford until you simply can't beat the game, and with the ship sliding and enemies firing at you, you can't afford much time for aiming, either. It makes for a good challenge, though! Also, nice soundtrack! Really enjoyed it, fit really well into a space-asteroid-ship-shooting kind of game!

Evolve by Amanda Priest 2018-12-05T16:23:13Z

After crushing the first cube in the tutorial the game just stuck for me, leaving the score at 10/50. Sadly couldn't play past that, as the mechanic seemed interesting :(

Evolve by Amanda Priest 2018-12-05T23:03:50Z

@amanda-priest The game got stuck at the "Ooohh... Sorry little guy!" -text. The game was still running normally but there was no OK -button or such to progress with the text. Couldn't use the altar after that nor move the slimes.

Evolve by Amanda Priest 2018-12-06T09:17:23Z

@amanda-priest Thanks! It started working now. And at some point it also stopped working again, when I was at like x/1810 points -tier. Either way, I like the possibilities you can evolve (heh) the game into! The music was also nice and chill. Very nice atmosphere!

Balloon Dum Dare by Evanaellio 2018-12-08T12:37:05Z

The sound effect on letting balloons go was amazing, I could listen to it all day. I liked the idea around the game very much, although I couldn't get too far without a mouse. I don't think there's much you could've done to help with that without making the game considerably easier though, so it's all good. The soundtrack fit the game pretty well, too!

The Apostle by Norfma 2018-12-05T16:33:15Z

The first time around when I didn't realize it was only a single level, losing the colors was horrendous! Didn't even think it'd be so difficult distinguishing holy water from lava. Great job!

Antidote by Mimi 2018-12-08T12:46:30Z

@kutase The game is supposed to be hard, but we'll look into it! There are lots of improvements to be made. In time. Thanks! @carbonara Thank you! All of those are coming ~eventually~. We were very happy with how our game mechanic idea translated into the actual game and are hyped to improve on it!

Antidote by Mimi 2018-12-09T20:15:56Z

@masterkrepta Wow! Thanks for that amazing improvement idea, it could open up entire new worlds in terms of which direction we're taking the game! I agree there isn't much time to get used to the handicap, although part of the idea of the game is to learn to adapt quickly. However there are indeed tons of improvements to be made in the gameplay itself, as there really isn't much gameplay aside from walking from potion A to potion B and enjoying the ride of the new effect. But that'll change!

Please God by pandacodemaster 2018-12-04T14:34:12Z

The gameplay gave me a sense of I have no idea what I'm doing, but that aside it was a really enjoyable experience!
