Nice work! I was a bit confused about the water popping its head in, but not actually overturning the ruler of the beach -- which is I! THE SANDMAN!

twelvoo 2019-10-07 22:38

Good game! Maybe you can put the instructions into the game to make the rules more clear?

bredera 2019-10-08 07:21

cool little game, like the music and art style!

theomaniacal 2019-10-08 07:25

Nice job! I thought the ocean wave sfx was a bit loud compared to the bg music.

radgegames 2019-10-08 08:20

Great work, I really enjoyed the graphics for this one, keep it up

coffeedrinkers 2019-10-08 08:41

Great work! Couldn't win, but I enjoyed my time with the game! :D

tommyflower 2019-10-08 08:42

Wow! What an interesting Idea! It was a bit hard to play. I expected to be picking up more sand than that and the swiping wave made me anxious but this the best part of the game, it must be a bit frustrating! The music is on point, very relaxing...until the next wave comes :)

luc-dercourt 2019-10-08 08:50

A really interesting game ! A fun concept and a great execution ! There are small issues like the way the instructions are given and some small graphic bugs, but it was an overall great entry. Congrats guys !

agegorin 2019-10-08 10:54

Cool game, I liked it. But it was hard to finish it the first time after I put two fishes on top of a tower - time to wait for a wave was too long.

zc74560 2019-10-08 13:45

Good feel with the game. I love the sound.

bocodillo 2019-10-08 23:02

Really enjoyable game. Quite meditative, played like a strategy but rather than facing enemies facing the OCEAN was cool. The audio was great and the game looked really nice. I did find the game a little difficult but still enjoyed it.

almighty-games 2019-10-09 01:17

pretty cool concept that perfectly fits the theme of the game jam.

ekaterina 2019-10-09 02:25

Interesting mechanics and implementation. This game brings me back to childhood) Good job!

captandrey 2019-10-09 06:20

@tommyflower @coffeedrinkers @bocodillo @agegorin Sorry, we didn't have enough time to balance all to comfort level. Unfortunately, it is last thing you do:/

coffeedrinkers 2019-10-09 07:39

@captandrey Ah, don't worry. I feel you. I couldn't balance either. :( I need to force myself to balance for 5-6h before submission. :D

captandrey 2019-10-09 14:16

@coffeedrinkers main problem is to have something working to balance)

dustyroom 2019-10-09 17:52

Nice game. It would help if there was a hint that the icons below are actually clickable.

frozencow 2019-10-09 19:52

Pretty cool concept. I tried to get 20 stars, but it felt like I didn't get lucky enough. Had a good time playing in the sand though :D Thanks for making this!

captandrey 2019-10-09 20:44

@dustyroom sadly it is not so clear, but we changed UI in last 2 hours) ty for feedback, this feature is now highlighted in game description

ausstein 2019-10-09 21:35

Puh i got so many fish that the waves nearly never reached the screen so i nearly never got new sand. But I found out that i could collect sand from outside the actual game window on the left. Then I won quite easily. Solid simple game

purpoappo 2019-10-10 19:45

It was fun to make shapes with the sand. Getting 20 stars is pretty hard.

ashashza 2019-10-10 20:22

That was quite therapeutic. I really like the idea of physically crafting the play space with sand.

I placed a bunch of fish to keep the waves away and eventually they stopped coming and I ran out of sand. Thankfully I found a trick to place sand and then remove it, then re-place it created more than I initially took. That helped me get to enough stars.

Having the games logo on the starting sand was a really nice touch.

captandrey 2019-10-10 21:25

@ashashza you actually finded a feature what no one including developers knew XD. well done and thank you)

rhoffsch 2019-10-11 13:49

You shall not pass! =D Very nice concept. I had fun!

nikolaj 2019-10-11 15:19

Wow super cool game / concept!

frozen-spirit 2019-10-12 06:19

Wow I was not expecting to have this much fun but I did. Amazing work!

avzgui 2019-10-12 08:40

Really cool idea ! It reminds me a lot of memories

At the beginning I didn’t realize that we have to click on symbols below, I wanted to use directly the bucket on the sand

A great entry !

bilalch213 2019-10-12 17:44

Now, that's such a cool concept! It was fun to make sand items. I couldn't get 20 stars but this game relaxed me. The music and audio complemented the gameplay. Good entry! :D

radonraph 2019-10-14 08:32

Really cool entry and concept ! I love it that give me the idea how to simulate water flow x) Good job !

mharring 2019-10-14 13:19

Great idea for a game! I wish the brush size for picking up sand / dropping it was a little larger, but I can understand keeping it small for more of a challenge. It also wasn't entirely clear where the sand shapes would be placed - I'd suggest a semi-transparent outline of the shape to show where it will go. This could make a great mobile game if you wanted to pursue it further!

nathaniel-jensen 2019-10-14 13:59

Good game, but I am terrible at it, lol!

linheha 2019-10-14 19:51

Your game is great! I wish there were even more space with sand to play with, or more levels :) As others said, at first I didn't understand that the icons at the bottom of the screen were buttons so I didn't know what to do. But once I understood how to play, it was very satisfying and a bit challenging, so I really enjoyed playing :)

dock-frankenstein 2019-10-15 05:49

Really nice and relaxing!

asfdfdfd 2019-10-15 21:01

Interesting concept, i love these sand battles (they are hard, water es evil!). Also i love sand physics. Probably i will testament to bury me under this sunny sand.

palemek 2019-10-16 20:59

I didn't expect this type of gameplay **at all** -really big suprise. Discovering the mechanics(without reading the instructions) was tricky and fun :D Nice holiday-like experience!

lexyvil 2019-10-17 05:27

Probably the best concept I've seen in this LD yet! Very fun and addicting. The fish are too OP however, I had two of them on towers with a few laying about (9 or 10 fish points) and I couldn't have waves to come for more sand.

But! I won~

captandrey 2019-10-17 06:17

@avzgui @mharring @linheha thank you for feedback!) Sadly UI is not so clear, we changed it in last 2 hours with some planned but not completed features :\

actual-potato-69 2019-10-17 15:27

Woah! Good Job! A very fun little game! The music and the audio were great and the gameplay addictive indeed.

pestodesign 2019-10-17 19:06

So cute! This game has a really great mood, well done guys!

conk 2019-10-17 20:11

20 stars.PNG

I think I'm playing this wrong

Fantastic game! Took me a while to get into it but once that first big boy wave destroyed all my starfish... Lets just say I took it personally.

Great job everyone!

bungalow 2019-10-18 08:20

Really interesting concept, I had a lot of fun! It was very difficult, but damn was it addictive. Awesome job!

zimennik 2019-10-18 10:29

Great game! Was really fun to play it!

Screenshot_17.png

mrerdalural 2019-10-18 11:56

Really nice vibe I got from this game! Made me want go to the beach! I wish it was summer now. Thanks for the game!

room606 2019-10-19 08:41

How can I place sandy figures? Did not get controls fully, sorry :(

captandrey 2019-10-19 14:59

@room606 collect sand(left click on middle area). If you have enough sand-left click on icons in bottom menu. And click on ground)

dob 2019-10-19 21:53

Very chill game. Great visuals, nice sounds. A little random and frustrating, but so is the beach. I really enjoyed this one.

zuf 2019-10-20 01:05

Nice sand shader/texture, and I liked this interpretation of the theme.

The UI could be improved a bit though. The icons at the bottom could be made into more obviously-clickable buttons, and a placement preview along with an indicator of whether the spot is valid or not would help.

captandrey 2019-10-20 09:54

@dob actually there is no random at all) but sea hits pretty hard for the first time, its true) try again, you can do it!

captandrey 2019-10-20 09:58

@zuf bottom menu is not so clear sadly, last-hours-change :/

chuchuw 2019-10-21 09:14

Awesome game concept !

Simple and nice 3D graphics.

I'd say it is not enough rewarding, as the player easily looses everything, compared to the number of mouse mouvements.

jin9310 2019-10-21 09:26

I wasn't able to win yet, but this is really original and nice take on the theme! Really nice job done! Amazing idea :) Thanks for this experience

captandrey 2019-10-21 09:56

@chuchuw Thanks! Try to manipulate waves level by building fish-figures)

captandrey 2019-10-21 09:57

@jin9310 Thanks!

daria-toni 2019-10-21 11:39

I think this is a very interesting look at the theme. I've never seen anything like it before. I really like the animations with molds, music and sounds. The process of collecting sand seems a bit... monotonous. The sand itself is made great. I think this can make into a cool mobile game :)

crefossus 2019-10-21 11:48

Interesting concept but it wasn't fun for me overall. Trying to plan a combination of towers is fun but the collection is too tedious. Maybe increasing the collection rate drastically, having deeper sand, and more frequent short waves would help? Or change the collection method, but that seems like a lot of work. RTS style workers or something? IDK Nice art. Nice music, but check levels.

captandrey 2019-10-21 20:26

@daria-toni Thanks!) you can increase sand collection value by placing crab on sand or towers

johnnysix 2019-10-21 20:56

Very cool concept! I ran out of sand by the end - would be cool to pan or something, to gather sand from wider afield.

So close!

ld45_db-069.jpg

captandrey 2019-10-21 21:07

@crefossus Thank you so much for so large feedback! As time past, we understanded that waves are too hardcore. And "relax" level was lower that expected. Try to lower waves by building a fish or fish-on-tower.

captandrey 2019-10-21 21:10

@johnnysix 10 fish-points lower waves by 100%), so sea cannot restore sand. Try to find an optimal number.

itsdanidre 2019-10-22 21:54

Had to use some life hacks here!

Capture53.JPG

Calming music and great strategy sanding.

One thing: I never used the right click to place sand, I forgot it was an option lol...so you may want to create an incentive to use that control; either if it's to post 'creations' in the comments, or maybe more points? Or maybe those humps of sand ward off waves as well? I've never used it to see, and was able to win in the end.

sheepolution 2019-10-23 08:48

Very interesting concept! It's actually really easy when you figured out a strategy, at which point you're just collecting sand and waiting for the sea to bring you new sand. I like the idea that you can put the figures on top of towers for an upgrade. I'm not a 3D modeler myself, but I think it's impressive how you've made the sand sculptures like they're made of sand. Well done!

jandourek 2019-10-25 09:04

Interesting game! I've never seen anything like it. You never know when the water will destroy your entire sand fortress. Good job!

maskinmask 2019-10-25 09:58

cool game~remind me when i was child,i play on the beach, that was fun.

oddballdave 2019-10-25 11:32

I don't think I've ever seen a game like this before. Interesting concept. Has a great vibe to it, helped mainly by the audio. It was somehow relaxing and frantic at the same time.

Good stuff :8ball:

brokenmirrormedia 2019-10-26 03:46

This seemed like a really neat game, but it just didn't click with me. I'm probably going to come back to it, but reading through these comments gives me a better idea of what strategies I should be working towards. One thing I noticed was that on the web player, when I selected a tower and tried to place it, it didn't seem to be going where i was telling it to, so it was pretty much impossible to put anything on top of a tower. Not sure if that was something I was doing wrong or some kind of glitch. Overall, I liked the relaxing aura of this game, and it seems really interesting.

mr-chocolatesalmon 2019-10-26 07:25

Lovely little game. Took me a while to understand what to do, and I didn't really have a need to place sand which kinda confused me. But once I knew you had to click the images down the bottom to place sand creations, I was able to win the game. Congrats on a great game! :beach:

2019-10-26 (1).png

mosaic 2019-10-26 20:06

I like it. The idea is really great, but I think it has some balancing issues. I placed _to many_ fish and ran out of sand. Luckily, you can somehow generate sand by placing it and picking it up. This is what I ended up with: Screen3.PNG

Maybe some way to destroy structures would be nice. Anyway, good work!

selkkie 2019-10-26 22:16

Very nice looking game! Interesting take on tower defense in a way. I'm sure it's already been mentioned, but putting down too many fish disables the wave entirely, making the game grueling- I think a simple destroy function would go a long way. I also recommend maybe a tooltip telling you what structures do would be easier on the eyes than a whole instruction screen, since it's difficult at first to remember what everything does. Nice work overall!
