Great job, loved the idea and the gameplay is fun and challenging.
Awesome! The best little touch is the "death cam."
This is the best engagement with the theme that I've seen so far--a philosophical ethics problem wrapped up in a Ludum Dare entry.
Very neat sim-like game that is a great low-stress experience. While it would make the game easier, I think it would be a bit more interesting to not allow the little guys to walk right into a train that is running by them. I particularly enjoyed the cut-scene when two trains collided. Nice job!
Nice to see another trolley style entry. Love the cute artstyle here. Would say that its a little awkward to cut to a predetermined cutscene of two trains colliding. Otherwise pretty fun take on this!
Awesome! Played it with my 4 year old who's obsessed with trains and he was laughing his head off, (also meant I I appreciated the lack of violence ;) ) The fail animations were all excellent, and I loved the obituaries, really polished all round!
Hey, looks like we brainstormed some very similar ideas... hectic vehicle multitasker + running over people + obituaries, high five!
This game is super challenging, like a hardcore version of Flight Control. I tried my best to make loops simple to follow and keep track of but I can only do so much protecting the pedestrians. I will say the first time I had 2 trains collide made me lol pretty hard, there was some fantastic build up there.
I think the art, colors, and UI work together really well and present a pleasant game to jump into. Aesthetically it's just very pleasing to watch it all play out, and I'm glad you weren't too brutal with the resources so that I could play for a while w/o worrying about mass deaths tooooo much. I think this kind of gameworld lends itself to upgrades and stuff super well (like Mini Metro), and can have a lot of potential in future versions.
Stressful, but fun! Art is simple, but effective.

Nah look, I really love the idea and execution of this game. You successfully made little idiots that continually walk in front of my trains with no hesitation, and while that gets annoying, it's definitely adds an extra layer of fun to the strategies you need to employ. Very well done! And the graphics are beautiful. :train:
**Just an FYI though, the game didn't render properly on Chrome, but worked fine in Firefox.**
Neat game idea, what happened a lot to me that didn't feel quite right was that people were running into the train and being killed, even though they weren't driven over. This just doesn't feel quite right, but it could probably quite easily be improved.
I love the audio of this one. And humor. But it's too hard for me... Pedestrians are stupid, walking around without looking, and there is nothing you can do when you see they are going in your direction: no slowing down or anything else. You just watch them being killed. :/ It would be better for me if I would be able to just play it without a lose condition, because it was a little too tight for me for my 5 minutes experience in the game ;) But overall I liked it.
i really like this amazing gameļ¼It's hard to protect trains and people at the same time .It's fits well with the theme. welldone!
Thanks for all the nice comments so far! As several of you have commented, the pedestrians are really quite suicidal and there's very little you can do about the casualty count. If we had more time, refiguring how they should fit into the game better would have been the priority.
@duzzondrums Awesome that the game was suitable and fun for a 4 year old!
@peachtreeoath High Five!
@mr-chocolatesalmon You must have gotten a rogue copy. That can absolutely not happen. Look: nostealingtrain.png
It can't be done.
@local-minimum :laughing:
Neat artstyle :) I like the personal touch given by the humor and passenger epitaphs in the credits. The gameplay didn't entice me too much since I'm not into management type of games (or maybe because I'm really bad at them :D)
Hilarious sfx and cool idea. Unrelated to the game I love the gif in @picapica 's profile pic
Very nice game, although quite hard to not kill too many.
aww thanks, @dwemthy! the meaty blob in my profile is actually from an earlier LD: http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-34/?action=preview&uid=24765
(if you need more stop motion i can direct you to my other stuff at http://hannesundin.tumblr.com/ mostly christmas themed at the moment)
I found this game super relaxing, don't know if that was intended, but I loved chilling out while seeing trains go around. I killed lots of people, not on purpose, but I felt like it rarely was in my hands to save them (as they would get on the tracks way too fast). Anyway, it's pretty cool, always fun to play managing trains around.
Very nice and polished game! This is quite hard to manage but it brings some interesting runs once getting used to the gameplay mecanics. I loved the relaxing aspect of watching trains on their path but each time I was chilling down, there was something unsplanned that was going wrong.
I tried both levels several times but I think they are kinda too hard for me to chill, but it's a good thing as these 2 levels puts the lights on different challenges of the game, even if this is not really explicit at first sight: the game, even if kinda slow paced, confronts you directly to the gameplay after the level selection and I had forgotten the second level at first (so I discovered it after coming back to the game.)
I was really amazed by the cute visual design and details such as ending scenes, great job. This is very bright and sets a really good and positive mood. The lights, models and colors are really looking nice together.
I also loved to find back the *mouthcrafted* sfx and voice acting you often use in LD games, it is always bringing a smile to my face.
GREAT! Cheers!
