Maybe I'm old, but because of these falling cubes I couldn't focus on UI. Also, theme seems kinda forced. Anyway, good job on submitting.

wtmk-bk 2018-12-04 06:47

Thank you for your feedback. I agree with you its defiantly something i didn't consider. :D @kszaku

bartosz 2018-12-04 20:44

I didn't fully understand what does clicking over those boxes do. Was it suppose to 'win argument' - and i'm about to decide who will win it and decide who should be harmed?

Not really get also what are winning / loosing conditions - seems like playing chess by myself - does it mater if whites wins or black wins?

Anyway - great that you was able to submit game in time - work on your skills, but definitely - tackle game design more than anything else - we are here for feedback so you can learn! :)

This is *much* too fast to be playable for me

luca1152 2018-12-04 20:46

Good job for your first Ludum Dare! :) The gameplay was actually fairly fun, but I must say that the game could have been more polished, things like the text that could have been capitalized and more correct, or the colors that don't exactly match, or you could have used a font instead of hand-drawing. It is a good start, I must say, but I felt like you needed some constructive feedback :)

wheatleyscience 2018-12-04 20:48

hello, i think game is too hard, i failed to match colors because cubes are too small and fast. for the graphics side it needs more polish, but you said it is your first LD and this one is a good start

cricket 2018-12-04 20:53

Interesting idea but found it difficult to understand the action -> reaction of clicking on different cube colors

jequed 2018-12-04 20:54

Interesting abstraction of an argument. Understanding how love and pride worked took some getting used to, but it became more enjoyable the more I started to understand it. I also like the unique gameplay of clicking on the falling colored cubes and how you were able to add more difficulty by changing the falling pattern.

garygreen 2018-12-04 20:57

I really liked the concept. It was fun to play, but maybe the falling boxes should have started off a bit slower.

bloodjohn 2018-12-04 22:03

very imperssive, but it is not clear

wtmk-bk 2018-12-05 05:16

@luca1152 thank you for the feedback it helps a lot! i was going for that old show home movies with the hand drawing and text but its cool what you said is very helpful and accurate :D

seed42 2018-12-05 07:46

the speed worked fine for me - nut sometimes it seemed my clicks wouldn't register (don't know if that was an html5, speed, code issue

didn't quite get the love - pride relation but still managed to get to the end :)

daltonleavey 2018-12-06 03:28

Great stuff! The falling blocks were a little dizzying to watch and the objective isn't very clear but I thought it was pretty fun and the music sounds awesome. Nice Work!!

hdugmag 2018-12-16 22:35

This is a really unique take on the theme, however, I felt like it needed some visual / audible feedback when clicking on a correct cube. All in all, good job for your first entry and keep making games! :)

sockman 2018-12-16 23:15

Like a lot of other people said, I didn't really understand what I was doing. The cubes were falling so fast that I couldn't see what they were affecting. I think I was supposed to sync them up and get them both to be the same color? But then the love stat kept going down after a "round" and I didn't know why. If the goal was more clear I think it would have been a lot better.

hilvon 2018-12-16 23:34

A nice little game. Quite a unique one, as well.

The Theme might not be the strongest aspect of it, but the gameplay is engaging, especially if you manage to get both sdes match and go on a strack of them aggreeing on color - feels great!

The hitboxes are a bit off though. Sometimes the boxes would not register my clicks for some reason... Though there might be a million potential reasons why this is happening, starting from Colliders and Graphics moving out of sync, to me actually being too slow. Yep, reflexes are not my strongest aspect.

Sound effects are... a little annoyhing TBH, but it is still good to have them, as they add to the game feel.

I really couldn't figure out what bumps up the pride, but still managed to beat the game on first go.

wtmk-bk 2018-12-17 03:05

@hilvon Thank you for your playing and the feedback. The issue everyone is having with the blocks is that they are falling with gravity you need to click where they will be because of this it can have a clunky or unresponsive feel if you are clicking where they currently are. I didn't really think that out going into it. Also i need to add a tutorial what it sounds like is everyone is having a hard time understating what is going one :D But thats awesome you all played it TYVM!

mr-chocolatesalmon 2018-12-17 03:28

Good for your first attempt. The game is a little nauseating and frustrating at times, especially as the cubes are hard to click on. Maybe just using the mouse cursor instead of having to click would have been better? Anyways, hope you learnt a lot during the Jam

wtmk-bk 2018-12-17 04:56

@mr-chocolatesalmon Thank you for playing that was the feeling i was going for as its suppose to be two people fighting. I did learn a tone, ill take your feedback into consideration if i make a v2 -:D much love

jk5000 2018-12-18 12:57

A weird but also a pretty fun little game. Well done.

bloodyorchiddc 2018-12-18 17:47

Yeah, I let them love each other, I win! Never play a game like this before, quick reaction with falling blocks and simulate the conversation. Great a idea.

elysiagriffin 2018-12-18 20:45

A bit confusing to me, and the graphics look a bit weird in my opinion. But anyway, the game idea was quite cool (: Congrats!
