2018-04-22 18:50

but there's a glitch i can't click were it say's mouse click here

goutye 2018-04-23 01:01

@battleZays It feels like the game did not have the focus, or a problem with your platform or browser. Please try the windows/linux/macOS version. I only tested Google Chrome/Firefox (last version) on macOS, Windows and Linux. If the problem appears again, please let me know your platform / browser.

keppu 2018-04-23 13:13

The HTML5 version kind of crashes and flickers when I first move my mouse. Can't get to play. :(

I'm running Win10 Pro with Chrome Version 65.0.3325.181 (Official Build) (64-bit).

robowarrior1982 2018-04-23 13:19

Excellent !

metamorphling 2018-04-23 13:23

Yeah, html version did not work for me too Also it felt kind of heavy, I've heard my pc doing it's best to load web build

thesedatedprince 2018-04-23 13:23

I thought this was really good fun

sophie 2018-04-23 13:26

My stats page after the regular levels: https://i.imgur.com/LrAsO52.png I finished the first bonus level, and then kind of noped out when I realized there were more like it...

goutye 2018-04-23 13:27

@Keppu As written in the description, Godot Engine does not support well Google Chrome on some computer! Please try the Windows version! @metamorphling Were you trying with Chrome? The support by Godot Engine is not well. Please try with a executable version! :spy:

keppu 2018-04-23 13:51

I tried the Windows version on my Win 10 Pro but it won't run.

goutye 2018-04-23 13:59

@Keppu Really sorry to hear that. Working on 7/8. I just published a Windows 10 appx version. I will try it tomorrow with a Win10 computer!

goutye 2018-04-23 14:01

@Sophie Thank you for playing  Glad you beat the game! For the bonus level, there are only 2. They were mostly quick test levels to show how far I can push the difficulty of the concept. You can understand why they are not in the regular levels!

2018-04-23 14:01

@Goutye i do use window's and i use chrome

omnipotentindie 2018-04-23 14:32

Pretty good, difficulty curve wasn't the best, but other than that, well made

goutye 2018-04-23 14:47

@OmnipotentIndie Thanks for the feedback! I actually did try to work a lot on difficulty curve. Each sequence of level introduce a new mechanic with two easy levels followed by a normal one. Then the 4th sequence is indeed more difficult, and is the last sequence. Were you talking about his one? Thank you for playing

omnipotentindie 2018-04-23 15:02

@goutye I don't think any part but the fourth was inconsistent, just advanced too slowly. Maybe only 1 easy level before the normal one(s)

ccglp 2018-04-23 16:19

Happy little game here!

It's difficult to make a puzzle game in a jam, but this is very funny, an the three mechanics work well together, so good job :D

rohan 2018-04-23 16:27

Loved The game!!, There is a glitch in the last lvl i think the lvl with LD 41 written i got stuck in the number 4 i dont know what happened there But overall really beautiful game with amazing music and controlls

shoj92 2018-04-23 21:33

Who doesn't love bob ross!? Good mechanics, and it can be quite small. I could see it being a mobile / handheld game for sure!

goutye 2018-04-24 05:44

@Rohan Good catch! I was able to reproduce it. Thankfully we can restart the level, still annoying! Sorry for that

hellblade 2018-04-24 07:46

Nice work, really liked the styling and idea behind it! Greatly executed and all fitted together very well!

Might be nice to have buttons for 'next brush' and 'previous brush' as well as being able to select them individually as was getting a bit muddled up at times to get the right brush.

goutye 2018-04-24 09:43

@Hellblade Thanks a lot for your feedback! I took note and will pay attention to this specific point in my next game! Really appreciated!

elhombrebanana 2018-04-24 12:30

I totally love this game. This is PURE ART.

I somehow feel uneasy about the music. It's too repetitive maybe? I had to muted but that didn't prevent me from having a lot of fun!

Congratulations!

5you 2018-04-24 12:47

Looks awesome, but every time my cursor gets near the "click mouse button" sign it gets jittery and I can't move it. Couldn't play, sadly. This was HTML, I going to try Windows.

darby-costello 2018-04-24 12:47

In this game, there are no mistakes. Just happy little accidents! Hilarious use of the theme, Bob would be proud!

5you 2018-04-24 13:00

The .exe and appx don't work either.

gamedevmumin 2018-04-24 13:03

Unluckily can't play it in browser - problems with mouse. When I downloaded it, it also didn't work. Eh, but don't worry, that's just happy little accident! :D

beebo-studios 2018-04-24 13:11

Nice job! You pulled off the puzzle aspect quite well. I love the sreenshake on Bob's head colliding with a wall. It's the little touches that count!

harry-jacobs 2018-04-24 13:32

This is beautiful :') Anything with Bob Ross in gets my vote

Really nice game-play and puzzles as well. Music can get a little repetitive but overall a very enjoyable game. Great job! :)

Happy painting and god bless my friend

mainghia95 2018-04-24 13:43

OMG a Bob Ross theme game. Definitely liking it. Mind to check out our cinematic game with pixel art: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/daxua

goutye 2018-04-24 13:47

@GameDevMumin @5you @battleZays @metamorphling @Keppu : The windows build is now working properly. I am really sorry for the inconvenience! If you'd like to try a shot at it, you can now do it properly  Again, I apologize. It is my first time releasing a game in Godot 3.0, and I did mess up the Windows release badly! Now it is fixed :v:

gamedevmumin 2018-04-24 13:49

@Goutye Thank you, really wanted to play game with Bob Ross! :D Nice idea that game knows when you messed up and gives you info how to restart :D How to change color, though?

digitaldude555 2018-04-24 13:50

Well I am on firefox and the browser version wont work for me. Download exe doesnt open. How can I make it work?

5you 2018-04-24 14:04

@Goutye Yep! it works now, played it until I got stuck at lvl 4.0 (I'm not the brithest guy in town I guess)

goutye 2018-04-24 14:22

@GameDevMumin On the title screen, if you check at the top, you have the 3 shortcut (X, C and V). By using these keys, you can change the color of your brush! I may improve this next time for clarification I guess! Thank you for playing

@digitaldude555 On some computer the HTML5 version can still be a problem. Godot does not support well low spec. On the other side, I just fixed the Windows version so the ZIP file should work (extract then play). Both the EXE and the PCK are important files. You can't play if you don't have the PCK file with the correct name (same name as the EXE). Normally it is already done in the ZIP. Hope it solves your issue!

freebo 2018-04-24 14:30

I like the Bob Ross idea! Its a very nicely executed puzzle game which scales perfectly. I really tried to beat the LD41 level, but I just not skilled enough in the art of wet-on-wet oil painting.

agar3s 2018-04-24 15:09

wow! I played it more time that I was expecting.... Good puzzle-platformer-painting level design.

dovena 2018-04-24 20:49

I like the Bob Ross. Great game. :) The HTML5 version did not work for me with Safari, but it did work fine with Firefox. :)

jiri-hysek 2018-04-25 08:31

Nice puzzle concept and a lot of content for jam game! I like it.

It would be better if Bob waits at the beginning of level and it's released by player (or implement a countdown at least) - sometimes I don't have time to select brush or look at the level and Bob ends up trapped.

goutye 2018-04-25 09:26

@dovena Indeed, few browsers support Web Assembly with Open GL ES 3.0. Hopefully, Godot Engine team will improve the HTML5 port to support more browser! :v: Happy that it worked well with Firefox!

@jiri-hysek Thanks for the feedback! It was actually a compo game! I really agree on the little break that I should have added at the beginning of each level. Definitely something I will pay attention to in my next game! Thank you

jiri-hysek 2018-04-25 09:30

@goutye I meant a game-jam game in general, terminology confuses me a little :)

croewens 2018-04-25 12:02

why was there no humor category? this genuinely made me laugh!

brendan-toy 2018-04-25 13:41

:( tried to play, but couldn't get ti going, tried both html and the windows link. shame looks good :) and i love bob ross haha

goutye 2018-04-25 14:27

@brendan-toy Would love to hear your browser version + windows version. The last windows version should actually work on most computers (7 8 and 10). For the HTML, only Firefox Quantum with a somewhat recent computer is assured to be fine. I am curious because it is the first time that I am building with Godot, and I'd like to know what are the limitations!

captainpilot 2018-04-25 20:18

One of the more polished games I've played. Really good game and concept. My minor suggestions would be a speed up button because when you inevitably get a paint wrong, you may have to wait some time before he loops back round for you to try again!

yetman 2018-04-25 22:06

Awesome puzzle game. The idea is really great and the puzzle were fun. I think the level should start as idle so that the player can take a nice look and think about it then he presses play and start the level. The html version was acting weird (jittering when I hover over a paintable block), so I played the desktop version which was working well. Great work.

hauo 2018-04-26 15:02

Agree with many above, a very good puzzle game with a nice mechanic! Not a super fan of the levels with you had to collect so many brushes, as they took almost a bit to much time to complete, however it did make me have to think about the map structure more so in the end a good choice! Also liked that some of the puzzles let me solved them in different ways as its physics based.

A very nice thematic game, and who does not love Bob Ross? :)

nick-rafalski 2018-04-28 04:10

This was great! The puzzles get pretty challenging (I played all the way through). I had an ah-ha moment when I realized that I could turn the purple color 'on' at different points when bob was partially through it to get different trajectories (don't know why I didn't think of that originally). The art and music are both cute.

I did have some happy little accidents on the final level where Bob would get stuck if I painted 2 platforms brown that were 1 tile apart but parallel. The only solution was to paint 1 transparent, and Bob would shoot off like a rocket because of his stored momentum.

Overall, one of my favorites so far!

nutriz 2018-04-28 16:30

I specialy liked this one ! Simple, smart, 100% in the theme. You made lot of levels, it's cool for a jam. Feel free to look and vote for our entry also made with Godot Engine: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/way-out

mikethewayne 2018-04-29 16:26

Disappointed by the lack of happy little trees, but an astounding entry nonetheless! Fun, funny, great music, and an excellent take on the theme makes this entry absolutely brilliant. Great job!

candlesan 2018-04-29 20:39

Web browser version did not work for me, got really glitchy. Downloaded the windows build and that worked fine.

Got just past the "LD41" stage. That was very difficult and required a lot of thinking!

I like the brown and white mechanics. The purple took me off guard. Felt like the difficulty ramped up very quickly in terms of how the purple was introduced and then immediately I had to toggle states on the fly in order to solve the puzzle. I was expecting a little more time to get used to the colors and the mechanics by putting the board into "solved state" to win. Overall a good entry!

mr-chocolatesalmon 2018-04-30 04:37

Awesome game. My "v" key stopped working at one point, but I really enjoyed the game regardless. Puzzles were great!

puppetmaster 2018-05-01 15:26

This is a great game. I really had fun finding out in which combination what needs to be painted. The shaking effects give the game a special atmosphere. I would have preferred to change the brush color with the right left and not one button per color. Great game!

igorsgames 2018-05-15 15:37

Nice game, would appreciate game pausing at the start of each level until I click
