I feel like when I'm seeing the start screen I'm getting photographed and losing? It could use some more clear feedback on that and some kind of visual or audio feedback that I'm doing damage to the divers with my laser would help.
It's a good concept--very original and a good take on the theme.
Nice concept (quite similar to mine btw) but I feel like I´m unable to damage the divers. Either that or your game is missing some visual feedback when hitting them. Swimming around feels nice. Also I got an errormessage: Traceback (most recent call last):
File "main.py", line 646, in <module>
main()
File "main.py", line 511, in main
window.blit(menu_background.menu_surface, (0, 0))
pygame.error: display Surface quit

Cool monster and legend but is it possible to laser the divers? Also, they sometimes spawn at the top right before surfacing, so some rounds end immediately.
I tried the source version on Linux. Works good, but I had to rename the files like Diver.png -> diver.png because it's case sensitive. I like the concept, but it all happens so fast, I felt like my lasers weren't having any effect.
Fun, goofy game.
