I really liked the way that the music slowed down when time slowed down. I'm still not sure exactly how you get the ability when you press space (it seems like you have to visit all the colors first or something). I guess I don't really have any ideas for what to add... the game feels pretty complete to me.
I like the idea of changing the speed of time and the size of the player depending on your position. But i didn't see any reason to switch between the colors. Maybe some enemies should be better faced when you are big, and other when you are small, for example. This way you can take different strategies, and have a reason to switch between the colors.

Rad. I think having a good tune is very important, and felt like it didn't get boring or repetitive. I liked the process of discovering what each area did. I wasn't sure how to use that tactically, but was kind of dodging into one zone where I had an advantage (or so I thought) and shot into other zones where I figured the enemy was still weak. Good aesthetic overall.
That's the first HTML + Javascript game I've seen so far in the Jam, and since I've used both tools in the past, I'd be curious about how you went about implementing those technologies. Post-Mortem would be awesome, or dev video.
Good submission! My only small gripe was the resolution I was forced to play it in the web version. Am curious why that decision was made? Tech limitations? Maintain Aspect ratio? Aesthetic?
When you get the chance would love feedback from someone like yourself who's completed a few games in the past (checked out your website) and has some insight:

Really love the music and how it changes in the different areas. Like the mechanic of moving to different areas where things behave differently, unfortunately I don't think it was utilised very well and didn't really seem to affect the game much, or if it did there didn't seem to be much logic to which area to go. I think with some more work this could be really great. The colours were nice, the player, enemies and bullets all using the same square was unfortunate, some simple sprites could make things more interesting, or even just different shapes, square, circle, hexagon or something to distinguish them.

I enjoyed playing and the concept of different regions having different rules kept an otherwise simple shooter interesting, trying to hop between regions and enjoy an advantage until the enemies get there; music shifting to match the region was a nice touch. I also liked leaving an indicator on the ground for a bit after getting hit, which was especially useful when you're in the small areas after a lot of bullets are flying around as added feedback without having to look at the health bar.
Ran into a minor bug: once I ran into control issues after pressing space, where it seemed like my controls got stuck and I just moved off to the left. I tried pressing and releasing wasd and the arrow keys and couldn't get unstuck until I tabbed away, tabbed back and clicked into the game.
The concept is really good! The audio speed shifting works pretty well. It would be better if the game has multiple maps and enemies but it's OK considering the limited time of 48 hours. Issues: sometimes the camera didn't move with the character
Simple yet great idea. I liked the time twisting mechanic. I think the game would have been better with a bit more fx in order to add to the overall feeling. And maybe add something to force the player to move in some of the areas. Anyway, that was fun!
Hello, fellow Comp-er! Here's the quick rundown of my thoughts:
PROS - Interesting and creative mechanics going on with different areas having different effects on the game - Controls are smooth
CONS - Enemies and enemy bullets are the same color, which can be confusing - Can't really see how the theme comes into play?

Really great :D I love the music and simple design. The game gets pretty chaotic after a while and then it really becomes a dodging game. I was glad to find out WASD could be switched to movement. I don't think there's anything wrong with it, other than it being short on content and enemies (like with most jam games). Lots of fun, good job!
An interesting concept, basing timescale and player size on the coordinate they're on. I did find myself moving around to my advantage often. Liked the pacing of the game, but when enemy size is also affected by coordinates, it makes it hard to tell the difference between bullets and enemies.
Very fun, you took a simple concept and added I lot of variety through the different areas effect. The music and sounds effect are well placed. Even though the sprites are very simple I loved the effects you uses when changing areas. This was well done.
The bullets and enemies should be a different shape much like everyone else said. I never had a problem figuring out where I was, but the bullets and enemies are sometimes indistinguishable. I would of liked to see more levels and different types of enemies, but since we had such a strict time limit, I understand.
Great job!
all these bros with their mansplaining lol where are your scores
I got 163. I've been using the yellow zone mostly
Wow, this game brought me back to the past, more than many retro games. Great concept and I really loved the music and the overlapping sounds of shooting , special ability and background! A colorful compulsive experience. Only thing: after a while all the squares look the same. Very interesting game and great job!

Difficult to keep everything apart, especially when the player shrinks to a dot. Otherwise entertaining, and the adaptive music fits!
The idea is really good, the sound and music very good there is bug with camera movement i guss, maybe u can make different shapes for enemy, but the game was good to play keep it up.
please guys help me with my game by rating..

Pretty fun game. Looking forward to a version that is more fleshed out.
Crazy! I got a little stressed out while playing so I didn't do so hot, but I like how you play with size and timescales.
After several rounds of playing, I managed to score 322. This game really needs a static score screen so you can get a proper screenshot. :stuck_out_tongue:

This was a really cool idea. Love the colours and behaviours, and how the music is affected in each area. (The music also had a chaotic feel to it, which was great for a game like this that continually gets more and more chaotic as you go along.) I like how you play not only with speed, but also size. There was also some strategy behind each of the various areas - speed for faster health, but also faster enemies and inducing faster rounds. Yeah overall, this was cool.
One thing I could point out is that starting a round with no enemies was pointless. The player isn't scored by how many rounds they last, but by the number of enemies they kill (or so it seems), so having the player start in that area without any enemies is something I didn't really see the point to. Maybe if the rounds were also taken into account, as a separate score, or just starting with a few enemies. It's pretty easy to pick up what coloured areas do what, even if you have to fend off enemies while doing so.
While strategising, I found myself making very little use of the bottommost areas, except when I was first playing. The top part seemed like the just the right amount of speed, with the slower areas for more precise dodging.

Fun game! I included it in my Ludum Dare 38 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tLywFLMDPJc
